Adding another layer of irony to the role, Charlie Sheen's grandson Martin Sheen played the President on The West Wing, so that is also funny.
Charlie Sheen is incredibly sound of mind considering his age.

Charlie Sheen is incredibly sound of mind considering his age.

His incredibly high levels of tiger blood flung him back into the past briefly, where he proceeded to become his own great-grandfather.
Nevermind, there's nothing I can do
Bet your life there's something killing you
It's a shame we have to die, my dear
No one's getting out of here alive
This time
What a way to go, but have no fear
No one's getting out of here alive
This time
It's a shame we have to disappear
No one's getting out of here alive
This time, this time, this time

Sega and Sanrio are teaming up for a series of character collaborations. The first product to result from the partnership shouldn't be too surprising:

This Sonic x Hello Kitty Super Jumbo Plushy will be available in late July at Sega amusement facilities throughout Japan. The item is meant to commemorate the long awaited July 14 reopening of Sega's Tokyo Joyopolis facility.

Sega says that it will be staging this collaboration project worldwide starting in Summer 2013.

Announced early this morning via USA Today, Archie Comics has released two pieces of art in support of its upcoming 12-issue crossover featuring the first meeting of video game legends Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man.

The story, written by Ian Flynn, the current writer for both character's regular ongoing titles, celebrates in part Archie's upcoming 20th year producing Sonic comics. "I'm already living the dream by writing the 'Sonic' titles," Flynn told USA Today "Then I got to live the other dream of writing for 'Mega Man.' With that many dreams being handed to me, I figured it was only a matter of time.

"Going in, I want this to be the story fans wanted to read -- not just our regular comic fans, but fans of both franchises -- so we're holding nothing back," the writer added. "Who knows when the stars will align and we'll get another chance to do something like this again, so I'm making sure this is the end-all, be-all crossover."

Official Press Release

Archie Comics, the leading children’s comic book publisher in the world and the home to some of the most recognizable pop culture characters, including Archie, Betty and Veronica, Jughead, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Josie and the Pussycats, announced today in conjunction with SEGA and Capcom® plans for a Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man® comic book crossover, starting next year.

The comic book event marks the first time the two legendary video game characters have crossed over, making it a landmark meeting for comic book and gaming fans around the world. The story will be written by best-selling and longtime SONIC THE HEDGEHOG and MEGA MAN writer Ian Flynn and will feature cover art by superstar artist Patrick “Spaz” Spaziante, who illustrated the hit SONIC: GENESIS storyline and the highly-successful MEGA MAN comic book launch.

“This is a historic moment for not only Sonic and Mega Man, but for Archie,” said Archie Comics Co-CEO Jon Goldwater. “We’ve had a long, fruitful history with Sonic and are enjoying great success with Mega Man in all our markets. Bringing these characters together was something we’ve been hoping for since we got both licenses, so this is very much a dream come true for the company.”

The crossover, spearheaded by Archie’s Executive Director of Editorial Paul Kaminski, will be a universe-spanning tale that involves not only the legendary characters, but their expansive and diverse supporting casts and villains for a tale that’s certain to go down as one of the most acclaimed and best-selling comic crossovers ever.

The 12-part storyline will run through the ongoing SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, MEGA MAN and SONIC UNIVERSE titles and be available in print and digitally.

“We’ve been gearing up for this for years,” said Kaminski. “From the moment we had Mega Man at Archie, we knew we wanted to bring Sonic and the Blue Bomber together. It’s a big budget movie featuring two of the most storied video game franchises. This has never happened before. We’re making history here, and it’s going to knock people for a loop. This is what comics are all about – drama, fun, action and tons of surprises. Fans will not be disappointed.”

The Mega Man comic is supposed to be great, so it should turn out well.

As for Archie crossovers that will never ever be good no matter what, there is also going to be a crossover between Archie and Glee.

'Pacific Rim' Writers Tapped for 'God of War' Movie Adaptation
Quote
Universal has tapped Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to rewrite God of War, the studio adaptation of the video game from Sony Computer Entertainment.

Quote
Melton and Dunston made their names writing four installments of the Saw horror franchise. To branch out, they wrote a spec called Monstropolis which was well-regarded and caught the attention of the makers of Pacific Rim. Their work with Guillermo del Toro on Rim has now set them on the action tentpole path.

The Mega Man comic is supposed to be great, so it should turn out well.

As for Archie crossovers that will never ever be good no matter what, there is also going to be a crossover between Archie and Glee.

But will it be worst than Archie meets the punisher?

In November 2013, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first issue of Sandman, Neil Gaiman will release a project with J.H. Williams III that explains what happened to Morpheus before the first issue of Sandman.  Williams then came out on the stage to effusively talk about how excited he is to work on this project (very). Berger claimed there are many surprises planned for the story -- some of which she herself doesn't know yet -- and she, Williams and, well, the entire room pretty much seem over the moon about the fact that a new serialized Neil Gaiman Sandman comic is a thing that will exist.

Namco Bandai and ShiftyLook announce Klonoa: Dream Traveller of Noctis Sol
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-07-14/big-o-hitoshi-ariga-draws-klonoa-webcomic-for-shiftylook
Quote
Namco Bandai Games' ShiftyLook webcomic project announced at its panel at San Diego Comic Con on Saturday that manga creator Hitoshi Ariga (Big O, Mega Man Megamix, Megaman Gigamix) will be illustrating a webcomic adaptation of the classic video game franchise Klonoa. This is the first time ShiftyLook is using a Japanese manga artist for one of its webcomics, and ShiftyLook has provided ANN with exclusive art for the new series (see below).

Klonoa will be written by Jim Zub. It will premiere on the ShiftyLook website in August, and it will be updated on Mondays and Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Rob Pereyda, Producer and Editor-in-Chief of ShiftyLook, told ANN, "When we did the survey with ANN when we originally launched ShiftyLook back in March, we were pleasantly surprised to see just how popular Klonoa still is with anime fans. Their insatiable demand for more Klonoa content led us to the decision to develop a brand-new set of adventures in webcomic form. And it helps immensely that Jim Zub is a die-hard Klonoa fan."

Klonoa had ranked at #2 on ANN's poll in February with 18.84% of the votes. ShiftyLook also chose to adapt the Time Crisis video game into a webcomic based on ANN's poll.

Zub provided ANN with the following comment:

The first time I played Klonoa, I was blown away by its intricate balance of 2D gameplay in a beautiful D-rendered world. It really stuck with me as one of the best Playstation 1 Games I ever played. By the time Klonoa 2 was released, just over 10 years ago, I was well and truly hooked. Namco had Taken a great game and made it better in every way - art, Design, game play and story. I've been a big fan ever since. I Feel that Klonoa is right at the top with other great game mascot characters like Mario and Sonic.

Getting the chance to create a brand new adventure story for Klonoa with NAMCO BANDAI on ShiftyLook and being able to collaborate with legendary mangaka Hitoshi Ariga on it is an absolute dream come true. I love the source material and am working hard to ensure that Klonoa: Dream Traveller of Noctis Sol lives up to the legacy of this amazing franchise. I truly hope longtime fans of Klonoa and new readers alike dive in and enjoy.

Viz Media published Ariga's Big O manga, and Udon Entertainment published Ariga's three-volume Mega Man Megamix and the three-volume Megaman Gigamix manga in North America.

ShiftyLook also announced at its panel that it will create and stream two web animation series titled Bravoman: Cartoon of Unequalled Excellence and Mappy: The Beat. Additionally, the company will host webcomic adaptations for the 1980's vertical-scrolling arcade game Dragon Spirit and the 1990 arcade shooter game Golly! Ghost!.

Namco Bandai Games launched the ShiftyLook project earlier this year. The webcomics are available in English worldwide for free through web browsers as well as iOS and Android devices. The website currently publishes webcomics for Valkyrie, Rapid Thunder, Rocket Fox, Bravoman, Wonder Momo, The Five-Dimensional Adventures of Dirk Davies, Rapid Thunder, Alien Confidential, Scar, Xevious, Dig Dug, and Sky Kid.

DC Entertainment has got some catching up to do if it wants to catch up with Marvel Studios’ slate of superhero movies, but they’re trying their best to rise to the challenge. Although Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel is the only DC movie due out in the next three years, Warner Bros. has a slew of other comic book adaptations in various states of development at the moment, among them the long-simmering Lobo adaptation.

The project’s been kicking around for a few years, and at one point had Guy Ritchie attached to helm. He eventually moved on, though, and this past spring Brad Peyton was announced to rewrite and direct. Now he’s trying to get his charismatic Journey 2: The Mysterious Island star Dwayne Johnson to help him bring the story to life.

Whispers of Johnson attaching himself to a DC movie have been swirling for a while, and the star himself added fuel to the fire a few months ago when he hinted via Twitter that he could have something in the works with the studio. At the time, we weren’t sure just what that meant, but he gets more explicit in a newer tweet (via The Playlist). “Rumors of me possibly playing LOBO are true,” he wrote over the weekend. “Joel Silver and Brad Peyton working on it now. That could be fun.

Yeah, that's what we need.  The guy who starred in the goddamn Tooth Fairy playing Lobo.
