It's almost as if
A) Mark Wahlberg was in Transformers all along
B) You could put a Teddy Bear Plushie in the leading role, and the movies would keep on rolling anyway.

I like this, this is the kind of movie that 4DX Theaters were made for.

... is it possible?
We might get a second decent Transformers film? A second film where you don't cringe at every scene?

I want to believe. I really do... but I will wait and see before I believe.

I agree, it's been a long time since the last decent Transformers film in the 80's.

I liked the first Transformers film (the 2007 film).

The later two, not so much. Specially the third film. It was just dreadful to watch.

The 2007 was decent. You could make it to the end of the film without cringing too much.
The other two were a complete mess.

This one might be decent like the 2007, or maybe actually better. I hope this will be the case.

I found the first one to be tolerable at best.

All it took was that Devastator sight-gag in the second one to make me hate it.

Didn't see the third one, but I read the reviews.

After that, I just lost interest in what Bay was doing to the franchise.

Grimlock looks dumb. And the fact that he doesn't have an alt mode according to sources makes it one of those "what's the point" things.

Quote
The Last Of Us, which was The A.V. Club readership’s astute pick for the best game of 2013, is set to become a live-action motion picture. As reported in a report from The Hollywood Reporter reporter Rebecca Ford, the game’s creative director, Neil Druckmann, will write the screenplay for a film adaptation of the post-apocalyptic zombie-virus survival game. That’s a departure from standard practice for game-to-film adaptations: The typical approach is to not give a shit who writes the movie and also to cast Dennis Hopper as Bowser.

It’s not clear how much Druckmann will need to (or choose to) rework his original script, as Joel and Ellie’s journey across the virus-ravaged American interior already hews closely to a three-act structure. Plus, the characters in The Last Of Us have depth and nuance, and their motivations feel humane and authentic. In other words, this isn’t exactly Mortal Kombat here. Naughty Dog, the game’s development studio, makes games with a cinematic feel—the developer’s Uncharted series has been described with the phrase “it’s like playing an action blockbuster!” on so many occasions that most critics have set up a keyboard macro so they don’t have to type the whole thing every time. That said, Naughty Dog has had some trouble making the jump from cinematic video games to cinematic cinema. A proposed Uncharted movie has been stuck in a desultory development process for years, with the latest news being that Seth Gordon is slated to direct, for now. There’s no director attached to The Last Of Us yet, but if Uncharted is the precedent, there will be plenty of directors to come.

Well considering how narrative driven the game is and how much naughty dog games ape hollywood these days, this might not be a bad idea.

Archer renewed for two more seasons, which is not exactly a surprise, given how well it's doing, but still:

Spoiler: NSFW (click to see content)

Also, very funny comedian Paul F. Tompkins will be the lead in a pilot for ABC, playing a teacher who decides to quit his job and move to New Hampshire to open tourist cottages. Hopefully there will be some kind of narrative device that forces his character to adopt a series of disguises patterned after various famous people, like perhaps the Cake Boss (Cake Boss!), Werner Herzog, Garry Marshall, and/or Dame Sir Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Bob's Burgers is going full brony.

Quote
In an homage to the “Bronies” subculture, Tina attends her first Equestra-con, a convention based on her favorite animated pony show, “The Equestranauts.” To her surprise, she finds that the show’s fans are middle-aged men (called “Equesticles.”) When a powerful super-fan tricks Tina out of her rare toy pony it’s up to Bob to go undercover and get it back.

This oughta be good.  If not the show itself, then the reaction from all the pissy fanboys who don't know how to take a joke.

I can't wait to hear H. Jon Benjamin's lines for that episode.

Dan Harmon (the guy behind Community) is teaming up with Mitch Hurwitz (the guy behind Arrested Development) for... something. :woeh:

Fox canceled Raising Hope, which sucks because that's such a nice, sweet, charming show. I hope the cast finds new work soon because they're so goddamn great. :(

Yesterday, The Simpsons said goodbye to Mrs Krabappel. I cried. :'(

Charlie Sheen apparently hasn't been showing up to work on his FX sitcom Anger Management, prompting the use of a stand-in to shoot scenes without him. His show is already doing horribly in the ratings, but FX is mandated to make 100 episodes of the thing; I'm sure they've got a legal team pouring through that contract looking for some way to use this as a way out of it.

Finally, Ed Helms is going to star in a movie that is seriously called Epic Fail.

Yep.

Woah NSFW NON SPOILERED.
Oops.

I'm surprised nobody here has brought up HBO's True Detective.  I finally got to check out the season finale and holy fucking shitballs, if you haven't seen this show, go do that.

I keep meaning to watch it, honest!

I did however watch the parody Joel McHale and Jim Rash did of it, and it was fantastic:

True Detective was really awesome. My only problem is I don't want to say goodbye to the characters they've built after these eight episodes.

Not a spoiler, by the way. For anyone who doesn't know, True Detective is an anthology show - meaning next season will feature an unrelated story with a new cast.

Yup. Fox is trying really hard to beat Warner on their super heroes films. :D

That thing will be as bad as Man of Steel at the very least.
