Hi there.
Are you interested in translating FF3?
Download the Toolset and base files here (http://www.mediafire.com/?i1yig6qsm5v0x6k).
Read the instructions.
Follow the steps to produce the final translated files.
IMPORTANT: If you will make a translation, PLEASE REPLY THIS TOPIC SO WE CAN TRACK WHICH TRANSLATIONS ARE ALREADY BEING MADE
Wip:
Japanese - Jesuszilla
Polish - Human
Turkish - DJ TRACK
Spanish - Madkat
French - Attice & Roleimugen
Valencian and Catalan - Felo_Llop
German - voidednumb
Done:
Italian - PSYloco
Dutch - Melchior M. Philips
I've posted this topic at other foruns too, so I will try to let this updated as much as I can
-
i'd like to make a (pointless) Estonian translation, though no one plays mugen in estonia :/
-
Nah not making it
-
Best of luck to Ilu and the rest of the Fighter Factory team!
-
French - nedflandeurse
Nedflandeurse? What kind of language is that? Also I cant find User named French :P
And being serious, its would be much easier if I had FF3, 'cause sometimes I have to look over old FF to know what something suppose to mean. Polish is pretty hard language, for example other has few varieties.
But I can do this without FF3, maybe I'll update translation after release.
-
Thanks for your help. If you have a question, send a PM and I will explain.
I'm currently finishing the Image editor and scripting system. Then I will start to work on optimizations, and send this version to the Beta Testers. After some tests, the public version will be released.

You're doing it wrong, the only one in the wrong order is Madkat :P
Too bad I'm late, otherwise I would translate the spanish version :(.

And castellano? :P
-
is he doing a spanish version? Like spanish from "spain"? I can do the "neutral castellano" translation if needed.
-
I'm doing the Latin American version :P and also think that the languages would be updated later when the release is in our pc's ;D this is something like a "blind translation" :P i'll post it here when it's ready ;)
About the actual progress:
Words: 3519 / Actual Progress: 1074
Something like 30,52%
-

Valencian and Catalan are mine, even not having a lot of people involved in mugen with those languages :S.
About the "Castellano", Rednavi, I know it better than you, it's my second language!!!(First is Valencian :P)

-
I feel not comfortable with the translating tool.
It took me a little while to figure out aswell.
Should I make a quick QT tutorial for everyone?
-
YES!!
-
In the instructions, you can find the link - http://doc.qt.nokia.com/latest/linguist-translators.html
This link helps a lot to understand how Qt Linguist works.
-
VT, how we Mac users can help you?
I have a German friend who wants to help
-
Ask your friend to learn Objective C and translate FF3's source code to this language. :haw:
Nice to see things are going well here. nedflandeurse taking the French translation, that'll save me a few hours of work. ;P
-
nedflandeurse taking the French translation, that'll save me a few hours of work.
He won't take it anymore. I've found two guys to do it.
-
Objective C? bleh, I only need a Mac computer to recompile the source, FF3 and Qt is multi-plataform. :P
About Mac, you only need the Mac version of Qt Linguist. Seems that you will need to download the entire Mac version of Qt SDK to get it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0-daLlnnBU
-
I am gonna try doing a Hebrew translation if that's ok.
edit: I forgot how bad I am with time :/. Add on the fact that I can't really do technical translations imma have to pull out sorry.
-
Go for it.
Italian done. German is on the way
-
this is not necessary, u can open one of the data files using notepad, and look for any word abour language(Chinese, french, etc...) and change it to english,
sometimes u can find language=chinese.cmg or any other extension, and look for the files correct name in folder "language" of english, maybe its English or EglishLGN, cause any little mistake may make fighter factory not working...
-
Translating to Chinese [zh-ch]
:)
-
how about cantonese? do you guys have it yet? i may have someone who would possibly help (although it's not 100% sure yet)
-
QT linguist is included also in QT "library" packages (in all packages so also MAC one should contain it) so it is no necessary do download the entire sdk (that includes also compiling tools).
However nice choice to use Qt also for Fighter Factory.
For those one not confortable to Qt linguist... It is a very easy tool to be used... it is, more or less, like any other translation tools (like poedit) and the logic is the same. Is very intuitive so if you translators find problems don't be afraid becouse it is nothing difficult at all.
(I cannot help with translations becouse I am Italian and Italian translation is still done :) )
Nice to know that FF3 will be released soon...
-
I could help with either native level chinese or good standard-japanese.
-
DA_MAVERIK: It'd be nice to have some help here on the Japanese translation! Especially considering how busy I am these days...

:nutrox: Yeah, loved Qt soon as I started to work with it in the beginning of 2010. I will release a update of the translation with all phrases of the first public version soon.
I could help with either native level chinese or good standard-japanese.
Thanks!
Thanks to everyone. In the 1st public version we don't need to merge the qt translation with ff3, I implemented a multi-translation system and all external tools, scripts and code snippets can be translated.
-
I'd download it, but im only slightly fluent in french... ;D
-
Updated the toolset with the latest version of QtLinguist and the new translation file (used by the first public beta).

It will be more difficult without seeing some word ubications in forms :P i get confused in a lot of lines
-
I'll release in the next days, then you will see all words in forms :P
Thanks!
-
Yeah, i'll make my contribution :P Thnx 2U

New translation files (including scripts and code snippets) - http://www.mediafire.com/?xx3uqhsao7opqlc
Some tips about the translation:
If you already started to work on an earlier translation source, go to File -> Save as as and choose the QPH format. Then after you open the new TS file, go to Phrases -> Open phrase book and choose the previous created QPH file. Go to Edit -> Batch translate and confirm. The new TS will be filled with the previous translation and you just need to finish all remaining phrases.
Thanks!

Wait huh?

Hey Virtualltek, how do you use the 3 new files i can't understand :???:
Are separate translations for code snippets and scripts. You can translate in the same way.
When I release a new translation source, you can make what I said in my last post, to reuse the previous done translation.
can by chinese (Big5)? or chinese (simple)
:???:

I made japanese translation in two days in January before read this thread. I edited .xml file and .qt file by qt editor not Toolset. My translation have English words. But in japan, native words often is used for new things. so it feel like good for japan users. but some translated sentenses added attention like as "(this button is not working)" in japanese.
I named my translation "japanese!" because japanese translation was already working.
language ja-jp is in my skydrive.
