Hey there!
So what's next for 2015?

Small things :
A bunch of old ToSix characters to update. I will do that in a row and release all of them the same day (or not I don't really know)
More ToSix chars : I'm thinking of Warzard characters right now, some old Guilty Gear chars too. Dampir conversions are in the starting blocks.

Big projects :
I want to update the KOF Anthology to 720p to add more characters. Better graphics, better lifebars, better betters. I wish I could work on all the characters to make a unique system, hitsparks, etc. We will see.

A new screenpack (and fullgame) dedicated to my arcade cab. Not much characters like 150 slots, only the best. I will put my thoughts here.

15.01.30 NEWS :
Mugen Multiverse Arcade Edition is on his way. Using MUGEN 1.1b. I'm staying in hi-resolution but I'm back to 4/3 format. Resolution is 1280*960 (downscaled in mugen.cfg to 640*480 for the cab).
Logo is the same (just the AE thing added). I've worked on a new title and options screen (credits will be given for these fabulous sketchs taken from DeviantArt).




Select screen will contain 130 characters (maybe some hidden chars). I'll show you the results later.
Characters portraits will be in hi-res format. I've made a Ryuuken frankenportrait to test the thing.

When the screenpack is ready I'll put it online. People will have to make their own big portraits to fit the thing.
The fullgame/compilation will come far later. I have to adapt the characters to my ToSix Template, and add new specials and hypers for some characters. I want to make this sh*t the most complete it should be.

I like this style and wish all creators made 640x480 format stages. I hate going in and configuring, all my characters to my taste. Still, your design is very interesting, could you send me a pm on your down scaled code. I might consider just making one of my previous 1.0 sp for 1.1b. Good luck my man, keep us posted and this looking very sexy.

Screenpack is moving slowly. Everything is planned but I have to find the time to work on it @home... and it's mission impossible! But I will take the time.
I still have to make the list for the chosen 130 characters. I think I will finish the screenpack first. The Batman & Superman lately edited are sure on the list (go check them on the tosix topic).

I've moved all my mugen works to a new blogspot. (too much mugen on my personal blog)

Back to KOF Anthology.

Finally I'm staying at 640x480.
New select screen, added 60 more slots. (The screenshot below is not definitive.)



Todo :
PNG24 logo.
Lifebars to revamp.
Visual stage select on the select screen (90 stages limitation).
Custom portraits.

I'm thinking about converting every characters into 6 buttons combo and hyper frenzy. It will take time but everything should be homogeneous at the end and won't be just a simple compilation. I already have some snk kof characters converted. The ToSix style fits well IMO.
What do you think?

I think this is a great idea, Duracelleur.
I'm doing the same (homogeneous) with the portraits. If 1 picture take this amount of time, I can't even imagine for a character, so yes it'll take time but think the the end result! :)

IMO 4 buttons would be better, kinda hard to imagine 6 buttons kof characters...

select screen looks better, and more slots are even better, at least for me!

Some news for kofa :
Roster is complete, I've made a lot of new custom portraits. I will work on every characters to have the same hitsparks at first, and I'm trying to motivate myself to work on a gameplay homogeneous for all of them (4 buttons combos and hypers frenzy). This will take time as I said.
Stage selection implemented (90 stages ok).
Fight.sff enhanced thanks to 1.1b png24 compatibility.

Love your ToSix conversions, and I love your Mugen Multiverse sp. The new version of Mugen Multiverse looks great, I'm just hoping for a 'No Categories' version with a lot more slots then your last version.

Two suggestions/requests for you to hopefully consider:

-ToSix Tessa/Tabasa from Warzard/Red Earth would be AWESOME.

-Samus Aran Megamix style version/edit of Samus Aran by Ax & Gargantham. The sprites are there, She just needs a few new specials/supers, that should be pretty easy to put in, maybe a missile/beam combo hyper, and a power bomb hyper. She could be a great character with some decent editing, I know you would do an awesome job, I love your Ryu and Ironman Megamixes. I just think it's worth it to have a good Samus in mugen, in her full suit. I hate her current speed booster hyper, but her sprites look great, for the most part.

I will try my best to fix lots of them. But it won't be perfect.

I will put a link as a proof of concept when I done the 10 first edited characters.
Some days I can edit up to 5 characters, depends on my time. So yeah now it's sure it will take time.

15.07.23 : 43 characters done. Secret clones (bunch of Athenas) can be easily found (extrem right or left).
Alice Bogard, Athena Striker & Athena Nurse needed more work (added hypers for the Athenas, gethits for Alice). Alice still remains basic.

I know I'm bumping this thread, I just want to say I downloaded and the beta is pretty cool so far...

And ask if this characters can be coded to be used on another Screenpacks to?
Because I'm liking what I tested and I want to have this like a kind of fullgame and some of the characters to use them with my personal mugen

Also, I got my computer working today and I hope it doesn't stop working.... if that's the case I would like to make a few portraits for this Sp

Common hitsparks, hyper explods are in the fightfx.sff, I've done this to gain a lot of time.
I'm working on something for the characters to be universal. We will see next week.

60 characters done. And now everyone work with any screenpack.
I'll put a link with all the characters I've edited.
The thing is I'll let people add their own mini/big portraits to the characters since I'm still using custom ones.

why not add some other chars in the mix like touhou?
From what I can remember, Reimu, Marisa, Patchouli Knowledge, Meiling, Yuuka (I think) and a few others were made in Neogeo spriting and KOF based format too.
Its nice to see Aya Shameimaru in the mix but having the others wouldn't hurt.

Well, I'm really interested in this, and also more interesting about the custom portraits being editables so I can add and upload a few ones...

Also, a suggestion, you should put the incomplete characters into the secret slots if possible so people can't choose easily those ones that feels "not right" compared to finished ones...

what kind of method are you using for the select screen? (the roster)

also... big and small portrait in the select screen are a single image or are they a different image?

if they are different images, that's something that would help me to add future updates on their big portraits to give the compilation a more fullgame fele (adding portraits with the same style)

Alphabetic order. Hidden/clone characters left or right
Boss characters 2 lines at the bottom.

you know whatt, probably I can't do all the characters in one day, maybe not even in one week, etc but I was thinking into drawing the Big portrait all with the same style (something a bit like lineart and at the same time maybe "sketchy")

or try to edit them to give them a more similar look...

the thing is... not sure if adding draws to them instead of those edited images would work...

something like this, but with no colors and more charcoal'ish comic'ish

Also, a suggestion, you should put the incomplete characters into the secret slots

In fact I have put some clone chars in hidden slots. The really beta characters as Karin or others I don't remember are stocked in an "Unnused" folder.

And Flowrellik you're right : found some kof styled touhou chars I didn't know...

Hidden chars with that select screen is easy.
just add more rows(Or columns I forget which goes up and down), and just add your hidden chars beneath the existing character slots OR if you feel like having an unselectable character, use the middle row : 3

Ok. Been a while here (september 2015).

I'm 99% satisfied with the screenpack. Everything adapted in 720p except the fights that remain in 4/3 (as my MMV screenpack).
Next steps : 50-60 last characters to edit in kofa style (maybe hide some chars in select screen). Some updates on the first chars I edited. And I'm done.
Like I said : KOFA is not just a simple compilation, it's a crazy year of crazy mugen editing nights and days.

15.01.30 NEWS :
Mugen Multiverse Arcade Edition is on his way. Using MUGEN 1.1b. I'm staying in hi-resolution but I'm back to 4/3 format. Resolution is 1280*960 (downscaled in mugen.cfg to 640*480 for the cab).
Logo is the same (just the AE thing added). I've worked on a new title and options screen (credits will be given for these fabulous sketchs taken from DeviantArt).




Select screen will contain 130 characters (maybe some hidden chars). I'll show you the results later.
Characters portraits will be in hi-res format. I've made a Ryuuken frankenportrait to test the thing.

When the screenpack is ready I'll put it online. People will have to make their own big portraits to fit the thing.
The fullgame/compilation will come far later. I have to adapt the characters to my ToSix Template, and add new specials and hypers for some characters. I want to make this sh*t the most complete it should be.

BTW, I'm pausing KOFA bonus chars and preparing a bunch of tosix edits. 30 days event coming in 1-2 months.

Made a script in photoshop, playing with layers and opacity. Nothing complicated.

AlexSin and you are right about the loss of clean.
But I will try to make something with it next week since I'm pretty satisfied with the sprites.

Just before the new tosix batch, I'm finishing to update the kofa roster with all the bonus chars I edited lately.
Roster : 675 characters.
And... I finally changed the capcom hitsparks (replaced by the garou motw ones.)

So here is the new exclusive character for KOF Anthology v4.
An older Ryu with new moves sprited by the fantastic Ninja-Ricky (https://www.deviantart.com/ninja-ricky/).
JUS gamers will recognize some hyper moves. Everyone will be credited in time.
Hope to see this v4 complete in 2020.
