Title: SaH wipage. Nanotech Update, attack suggestions for NT?

blackchaos07 got me started with mugen sometime last December after he saw a pixelcar tutorial of mine or something i posted on YouTube. I've been pixeling for a long time to and mugen was so cool i just had to try making some guys.

anyway Dans an original character i made up a long time ago.  he was the most complete of my wip characters.  i've got some sprites i'm going to replace "walk" and some more attacks to give him and a few things to fix.

I'm also starting to work on a new character i named NanoTech he's a transforming robot. and also shnitzel but they're just started

untill i do more work with him and post a video i'll just post some of the gifs.

ive watched this character grow from day 1

im a big fan of scott's pixel art, he is also a good friend now.


lol i remember coding him when i was inexperienced, so alot of tweaking needed :P

-only minor glitch is the saber move where he stands on the air for a bit, triggerall = statetype !=A   <<<<  :-X should have added it but i guess i forgot back then lol, no worries ill be tweaking away soon :D

this character is kickass i love it

although id definatly need to re-do his AI, i learned better methods now.


come on guys who loves the car move!!! i chose them sounds haha

sooooo.... who's making the character? is it a Team project?

Nice i like the concept of the car coming to hit, Electric based powers seem to fit him, i would have thought grass, and thorns etc.   :-X

i'm currious what made you think plants? 

some of my plans for him include giving him some more stun gun based attacks.

adreas borghi has 2 plant guys one a propper plant and one like a tree type dude lol

edit: im mistaken, 1 guy, and they both are the same lol he turns into a plant for the fatal  ;P

well i've been working on NanoTech and his Transformation modes.

anyway Nanotech is an assassin android.  He can transform his limbs, sword, or even his whole body to verious weapons and devices. "he keeps a humanoid shape when he transforms"

anyway i'm open for attack suggestions for NanoTech, and his transformation modes NanoSpeed and NanoForce.  i have some attacks planned for NT "mostly projectiles" but i dont' have many if any attacks planed for NS or NF.

also suggestions on other transformation modes would be cool to.  i was thinking of a samuri like transformation this morning that deals heavily with the transforming sword.  I love the idea of having him completely change durring the battle to different modes and 3 may be all i do but who knows if i finish quick enoughf i could do more

he doesn't have any hair or cloths to blow in the wind and being robotic i didn't think he needed to move very much when he's not doing anything?

ok i made nanoforces legs bend and Tech and Speeds arms move up and down like nanoForces arms did look better?

next step is for me to draw his gaurdstands and his pushed backward sprites and maby dizzy mode as i have an idea for that. I have no idea what to do for intro win taunt and loose so that's open to suggestions along with hypers and super and projectile attack ideas

i'm gonna see if it's possible to get this move to work with Oil hitsparks because robots do not bleed blood they bleed low friction hydrolic fluid like the tractor does though that fluid was a red color and my oil sprites look more like used motor oil.  I'm probably also going to add in another frame so the chain doesn't look so stiff when it's in the opponant

it's just a medium ranged attack i think. but that ideas is kinda cool.

i was planning on making the right fist be a grappling move though.

the blood in that move is only appropriate :D

can have rocket propelled railroad spikes without it. but i'm not sure about finisher moves.  he is an assasin robot but i donno. i'm deffinilty gonna expand the rocket fist thing into more verious attacks might even make a rocket propelled chainsaw :D

also had a couple sweet new ideas such as a hyper dash.  and a MK2 Dropkick kinda thing

mighty robot power :D

nanotechs on hold for a while we're trying to get his required sprites put togheter in the meantime i started IVAN a soviat robot info and pics 2 posts above in the spoiler and started to remake dan

i call him EMP dan. this is an adult "older" version that followed a different storyline in my comics then the tazer wielding dan in the first posts.  i'm not gonna abandon the old Dan just because i'm making a new version. put to much time into him to do that.  this dan is very different from the old dan.  he doesn't have any weaponry but instead the neckless lets him do stuff with EMP waves and blasts.  the hoverboard will play a much bigger role this time as if it's possible i'll have him be able to jump on and jump off the hoverboard. along with being knocked off the hoverboard when he gets knocked down by an attack or goes into dizzy mode ect.

he's just a bit taller then the old dan. but has the same hair color and style his cloths are way different but that's because he's for a different story then Dan C. is form.

he was created by reverse engineering alien technology so that gives some clues at the attacks he'll do

for now the only ideas i have are whiping punches and stabbing punches. he has the ability to fly. and like all robots built during the 1970s he will have lazer eyes.  he'll have some throwing attacks to.

i just designed him so i haven't had much time to think about his attacks

love the big portraits.....but they look like they should be the other way round, dan c looks like he is riding a hover board?

flight mode looks promising from I.V.A.N :)


think about using omega reds tenticles moves as reference, might look interesting for him.

been over a weak and i have an update so

BUMP

started working on Schnitzel some more. currenlty he's set up to be a 6 button character with 3 punches and 3 kicks but i'm thinking i may change that.  His kicks are fairly useless cause of his short legs so i may redo his 2 kicks into punches and make him a 4 botton fighter using dodge/recharge for keys 5 and 6.

slight update on shnitzel i was working on custom hit sprites :D

since 4 of my guys all use electricity i thougth i might as well give em all electrocution hit sprites. Schnitzel is a rock monster so he has no bones so making the electrocution sprite was a bit of a challange to think of.

i also did an ice hitsprite and a burned hitsprite though i have only one "maby2" that i know of that freeze things and no one i know of who burns things.

Midnight Bliss sprites are basically a female version of the char (or a comical version if the char is already female), followed by said female/comical version's life being drained away. They're used for an attack that Demitri (from Darkstalkers) uses.

been a while that i coudl work on things but i found some magor motivation in the last week to work on Nanotech.

i've added a medium kick. and started to shade in the sprites for a genaid type attack

hey scott, chainsaw move looks cool, will it be faster animation than that?

also i like the second megas stance... the first one looks like a frame in a move... like a frame of putting his arms down to win pose or something

yeah i posted those up a while back. megas no1 is how he normaly stands but it's not very fighter ready megas2 is ready to fight though.

chainsaw will likely be faster i just made it slow to show it on MFG

Magor update to Nanotech :D finished drawing some hypers and supers.  still some thigns that need doing and tweaking like the rocket first and some hitsparks specificaly the chainsaw needs some hit sprites

next moves i'm working on right now are a force lightning type move. a grenaid. and a palm blast throw type attack. migth start on a liquid nitrogen move that freezes the opponnat

I have a question about the missiles. I see that they follow you, but is there a way to not get hit. Like can the be hit without you taking damage? And I saw the video, and besides what you said was missing, it looks great.  :sugoi:

the missile is blockable, there's alos some other ways of avoiding it to.

it may be best if the missile life was cut down a little bit to and i need to make an explosion sprite for when it blows up

for eg: blankas roll or evade...

scott: might need to draw up some small explosion sprites so i can code them in when the missile life times out they explod instead of dissapear.(also for when they hit p2)

@ nanotech progress... he is looking kickass now, good job on the sprites :D
liking his chest cannon super. Potentially he could be deadly lol

well characters who dont have roll or evade can avoid it if they have double jump, if not then super jump, if not any of those.......then just block lol

couldn't make a simple animaiton cause i'm not on my computer but that's basicly the full extent of the electricity attack :D

next move will be either the Nitrogen blast. a firewall or flame thrower move. or the palm blast throw.

nanotech is fairly close to being done  :ninja:  there's still a lot of work i'm gonna do but he's close :D  anyway for when he's done i've been thinking of who to do next.

i was wanting to work on EMP dan next. he's the adult version of dan who will fight with Electro Magnetic Pulse waves and stuff like that along with the Hoverboard thing.  but recently i was thinking of a character who could beat the living daylights our of the opponants soles or spirits and use those to gain new powers, health and extra energy ect. i named him Solway which is a small town in my area.  and now i'm nto sure who i want to do next :( any suggestions?

they will both have 4 botton basics. with the other 2 buttons being used as Counters, Dodges, Powercharging ect. they will have 8 basic combos including projectiles. and 4 supers kinda like how i'm setting up schnitzel and most of my future characters after nanotech

It would look real nice in a side scrolling action game. You should do that one day. Way simpler than MUGEN. I use Multimedia Fusion from ClickTeam.

Anyways, what program do you use to draw your sprites from scratch? Do you use layers?

Because right now I'm working with layers but it's a pain to keep track of all the layers I have  ???

yeah i use MSpaint.  IMO it's the best program for pixelart cause it's so simple.

though i have had a ton of practace with MSpaint
