My third fourth attempt at editing DG's Ryu.
Hopefully my Final Update.

Thanks bro, I appreciate it, as for the stage I sent you a PM. I'm re-working alot of my edited stages and that's just one of 'em, I included a link in the video description as well.
Also updated The Regular version of Ryu, cause I forgot some scale issues on his Fire and electricity hits  --;

-Jumping/Neutral Forward is wrong kick.
-Jumping/Neutral Roundhouse is wrong kick.
DG messed up those kicks. If you have Ryu by GM take a look at the kicks and you'll see what I mean.

Yes, you are right...but DG's Ryu was not meant to be SF3 accurate.

IMO the power charge is kind of a bit too much for a character like this, but it's your call.

IMO the power charge is kind of a bit too much for a character like this, but it's your call.

I'm still trying to work out some AI issues (with the parry), but I did fix some AIR infinite priorities and I did switch those kicks around, and it looks much better, thanks for the tip...I'll update it here sometime tomorrow..as for the power charge, even though it is a bit much, its a neat addition that's fun to mess with...I've always enjoyed playing DG's Ryu and wondered what he'd play like with some more power..I'll also tone down the whole auto parry madness, make it a separate DEF file...again thanks for the comments  :sugoi:

Updated Ryu again. His AI plays alot more smoothly now...also thanks to Cyclysm's MVC3 Style palette, I've redone his entire set of ACT files to be more "MVC3-ish",not as good as his, but still pretty cool.Also New Video uploaded, showing off some palettes, but also showing old AI, my bad.. --;

Never played MVC3 though, so I can't comment on accuracy...
But all in all, a good edit, together with a decent AI.

Nice...

You should redo the readme on the Edited Style Ryu... I was a bit confused (Hadouken with qcf + kick and stuff...  :-X).
But the "Original Style" is ok.
He lacks some voices... and the Shoryuken clsn could be a tad bit bigger IMO.

I went ahead and made the shoryuken clsn a tad bit bigger, I'll probably go back and re-Clsn the entire char and some later point...also added some more movehits to the CMD file, as for the read-me it's just the original one that came with DG's Ryu, I might go back and make another one later as well....
And what did you mean that he lacks some voices??

He remains very silent on his win animations/intros... How about a voice clip on fully charge? Dunno... Just a detail.

Charge command acts strange... Holding down either HP or HK and then pressing the other button does not activate the power charge.

 --; .... Probably would've been a good idea to add the Power charge command in the CMD file...Updated, should work fine now...and I'll see what I can do about Ryu's Quiet nature  :sugoi:

Super jump is hard to pull of.
Why is there no air back dash and only air dashes in the forward jump?
I know somebody high-resed the MvC projectiles... Can´t find them, but maybe you could and then use them.

I've noticed that too, I thought it was just me  ;P
Yea, I tired to use the whole Radial Blur effect on those Projectiles and I did an awful job, so that's why I kept em like that, but if you find any Denjin or Shinkuuhadouken hires sprites, let me know  :sugoi:

Updated Ryu, added a better Air Dash for Forward and Backward.
Added New sounds, fixed some minor things and added a Vacuum to shinkuutatsumaki.

Oh my bad, Both links are being updated...One is basically just DG's original Ryu with added features, the other is just a slightly more cheap and faster Ryu with a different button layout...

 -  :( You scratched the system of power level up? Originial recipe Ryu has electricity on all his specials from the start... Oh, I see what you did there!  ;D
 - normal back dash needs some "movement lines" too, like all the oder dashes
 - IMO small portrait shouldn´t be CvS sytle... better use a SF3 one
 - where are those new Ryu voices from? They sound very different...
 - Superjump works fine now
 - parry is still strange to pull off

Updated Links!!!
So I added some air dash lines to the back dash, changed the CVS portrait to SF3
Fixed the parry as best as I could (might need to change the ticks in the CMD file)

As for the voices they are from SF3 Ryu, they sound a bit different but are nevertheless SF3 in origin...

- IMO the "Ashura Senkuu" teleport should be a "Evil Ryu only" move... does not fit the normal one and he already has a great "dash". Maybe you should leave it in the "Extra Crispy - Finger Lickin' Good!" version.  :D
 - the Ryu voices sound like a big mash up (CvS & SF3?). I recommend a consistent sound file.
 - Dunno, just a suggestion... He looks like a TvC Ryu, maybe you should take a "look" into the TvC Ryu sound files.

I've had a busy week, so I probably wont update him for a week or so...
I'll try and fix that power charge thing, didn't notcie it before.
I'll make an extra Def/CMD with Ashura for Regular Ryu.
I found some voice rips for TvC, so I'll see how they fit w/ this edit.

Updated with Minor Fixes...
Ok, thought I fixed that  :S, must've overlooked it...Went ahead and corrected the Hadouken CLSN.Also thnx to Cyanide I got the Power Charge workin' right.I'm still making a TvC SND file, so that'll take a while...also added an (EX) Def for Original Ryu with Ashura.

Updated Ryu with a NEW edit, he's a bit weaker when it comes to damage, also added a hitwall bounce to his Special Kick..Overall fixes to his gameplay, I've done about all I can, if I get the urge to edit him again it probably wont be for a while..ENJOY!!

I've been meaning to ask you if you could fix a bug that still persists from the original char itself.

You see, when you jump over an opponent and try to immediately dash away when you land, Ryu will dash towards the opponent instead very awkwardly.

Could you maybe fix this? Other than that your edits are the shiz, man.

Ok I fixed the Jump Land, forgot I already had another Jump Land state, so I merged 'em.
As for the Sound, wut can I say...I truly suck at making them.. ;P
If anybody else wants to make a SND for him, that would be awesome..I just can't Find SNDs from TvC or SF4 that work well with him...

Yea, there's a state -3 for landing dust, just add trigger2 = PrevStateNo = 52 && StateNo = 10, the only problem is it will prevent FX from the super jump as well...so I figure hey, if you jumped up a little and hit the ground with your knees, you'd probably kick up some dust as well...As for the win quotes they work fine for me, might be the lifebars you're using...but I suppose I'll work on making the SND better later on this week..Thanks again bro  :sugoi:

Final update (Hopefully). Overall fixes, New Hyper Port...He's more of a full character now than just an edit..ENJOY!!!

 :sugoi: Awesome Feedback as always...I tried adding a prevent crossup on Ryu before, but didn't realize that interfered with his Ashura, so I removed it..FIXED..
And also (FINALLY) Fixed that annoying seoi Nage (Thanks to Cyanide)..

Forward + HP(z) Seoi Nage throws p2 back on HIS side (right)...
Back + HP(z) Seoi Nage should throw p2 on p1 side (left)... thus switching sides...

Back + HP(z) Seoi Nage should throw p2 on p1 side (left)... thus switching sides...

Oh ok I got it, it seems that the ctrl for seoi nage is a holdback cmd, he'll switch sides if you make sure to HOLD back during the throw..if you only holdback to just initiate the throw then it comes off as a regular forward throw...it's weird, I'll see if I can fix that

EDIT: BIG THANKS to Hadoabuser for his help with the Seoi Nage throw...should be fixed now..all that's left to do is add some Dizzy FX and SND, re-code the Shinkuu Tatsumaki and possibly add in more CVS style FX..along with re-doing the entire CLSNs..Oh and fixing the p2 throw state for the Seoi Nage..hmmm

I was having such a horrible time adding the Dizzy SND to other players from their 5300 dizzy state, I figured it might be easier to just add sound to an explod that hovers above their heads during their dizzy state...but I'm still having troubles with that as well, but I'll certainly add the stars,birds and reapers as soon as I figure out how to get the whole sound issue to work, so far I got it all to work with Ryu's Dizzy state, but other players are not responding to it..urrggg

EDIT:Added Dizzy FX to P2 Custom Dizzy state (Denjin Hadouken Dizzy!!)

I guess originally I thought it too much, but with these neat new Dizzy FX, it doesnt seem that long now  ;D

Well I guess now it's time to fix that Shinkuu Tatsumaki...not really looking forward to it..but it needs to be done...THNX again Bro...

EDIT:Went ahead and Semi-Fixed the Seoi Nage Thrown state..until I can figure out how to get P2's state to not turn until animelem 2....

EDIT:Added Regular hitsparks for Basic attacks

EDIT:THNX to Hadoabuser again for fixing the seoi nage THROWN state also added new launcher sprite, ENJOY!!

You know that you have to fix now the second throw? Do the Seoi Nage throw and hold forward the whole time, then try to do his Tomoe Nage throw (f/b + HK/c)... Won´t work...

I'd been waiting for someone to release an english SND for a while now for a Ryu or Evil Ryu, but since I've never found one and your Ryu played so well, I decided to give it a shot myself.

Sound effects are the same, but almost all voice was replaced with the English Ryu sounds from SF4. Includes sounds for the intro and win poses.

Awesome!! Nice Edit! I Like the Sounds!, but i don't like the Akuma's Teleport (You Show on the Video) on this Ryu but i think you can add the 2 transform (Ken, Akuma) like mvc! only with a palette change works and diferent stand sprites xD, and all have the same problem with the position when ryu is lauching hadouken check:

I also wondered why this Ryu has the Akuma Teleport when obviously this isn't an Evil Ryu. I mean it isn't something that really is wrong or anything, but it really is out of place.

I know that a running animation probably isn't possible, but I think that the teleport would be better left out.

Don't get me wrong I think this Ryu kicks ass, but that could probably go.

I tell you one thing that would make this Ryu awesome would be to incorporate that ground and pound move that Vyn had in his SF3 Evil Ryu. Probably isn't possible with the different size between both character sprites, but that was a sweet move.

One other thing, when I was changing the sounds, I noticed he only has one Hadoken sound. Usually you have the regular Hadoken sound, then a more pronounced version during a special/hyper move.

that's why I used the more pronunced version when I changed the sound as it sounds better during hyper/super movies, but unfortunately it sounds too strong for the regular Hadokens.

Can you add another Hadoken sound for the regular ones to separate the two? I'd do it, but as I know how to replace existing sounds, I don't know how to add new sounds in sequence to match the animations.

Awesome, but i think the air dash not necessary :( and in the Crouching Strong Kick the character falls way too fast and has little pausetime check:

You:
pausetime = 5, 5
ground.velocity = -5.2, -1

My Idea:
pausetime = 8, 8
ground.velocity = -2, -6

Now i can use a super power or hadouken etc after i trip the character :sugoi:

 :sugoi: Great Feedback as always!! I went ahead and tried out the pausecheck and I love it, Thank you. Next update I'll add a seperate Def&CMD for Ryu w/o Ashura/Air Dash

I Went ahead and also added a Special Spark for the Supers, although I'll probably end up making a more PotS-esque style spark for his Supers later on...
 --;  Oh and added the One Hadouken Air code too, cant believe I overlooked that..

Updated Link!! New Super Sparks on all Supers...ENJOY!!

The Dizzy Dead state is something most SF3 chars had I assume..it's just a weird Death

I'll look into the Dash/Jump problem later
EDIT: It's actually in the Hop Forward/Backward state, you can cancel Dash by punching Kicking Jumping Crouching, etc...Don't know if I'll change this or not

Same with the Fire Hadouken problem..should only take a small stateno code in the CMD

Ok, I updated Ryu again, this time I added PotS Style Lettering to his Super Finish BG..along with making some minor fixes..ENJOY!!!

I fixed the Denjin Super so that the Finish Words will pop up, also added a slight BGpalFX to the Supers

Oh I see, Ok fixed! Something to do with his CLSNs so I just Made the last attack CLSNs a tad larger and it should be fine now...still lookin for something else to work on.. ;P Thanks bro!!

As for the Air Dash, I was just tired of the old lines and SND, decided to use the TvC Dash sound and MvC2 Dash lines to change things up a little  :sugoi:

Big Thanks to BC for helping me with this problem...I think I got it all fixed up now...
I tried countless different triggers for the DestroySelf, but just ended up taking the -1 out of the Denjin END Anim & replaced it with a loop of a blank anim...seemed to do the trick..

I just got to test your latest a bit today and you have improved a lot!
Between many improvements, you also solved the dash problem! Nice.

A few things:

- Wall impact Fx seems to be gone when you throw an opponent backwards.
- All Shoryukens look the same and send opponent soaring Sky-High...why not a classic approach:
    - Jab Shoryuken > Small Ground Dust/Low Range/No lightning Fx
    - Strong Shoryuken > Small Ground Dust/Medium Range/Lightning Fx
    - Fierce Shoryuken > Leave it as it is
....and the same could be done for the Tatsumaki instead of having the lightning Fx on all 3 kicks.
I've come to realize he feels more like MVC Akuma or "Complete Change" Ryu in Akuma mode, than actual MvC Ryu himself....Also, if it where up to me I would take those Akuma teleports away, they kinda make you trial and error when trying to pull the Supers sometimes...I know its your edit and you will do as you want, but I'm just throwing some thoughts your way.

I was thinking about incorporating a color separation patch to him, kinda like Umihei's...Gi Top, Gi Pants, Belt, Gloves, Hair...everything separated. Let me know if you are interested.

Anyways, this is still the most kickass DG Ryu edit in my book.

Awesome, some great ideas here! I went ahead and made the shouryuukens different.

As for the Wall Impact FX, I put them back on the Backwards throws, I'm still having some trouble getting them to work with the special Kick states though...

Eventually I'll make it so only certain pals have the Ashura Teleport.
Also made it so the Dust FX dont trigger until the electricity kicks in.

If you're willing to do a color separation patch for DG's Ryu, then by all means...that would be so kickass!!

- I don't think that in this type of gameplay you should be able to chain supers into others (Shin Shoryuken into Shinku Hadouken, or even into itself).
- FX have mixed styles. Hadouken is CVS, but shinkuu and denjin are MVC. Chose one please.
- Also, I think it would look better if you removed the shadows from these FX.
- I don't like how you remove the lifebars during supers, since you can't see how much powerbar you have (to perform other moves if possible) and how much you've killed the opponent. Remove them during the superpause, but not more.
- Hadouken misses cornered opponents at close range (tested on SPO Ryu by Rikard).
- If I jump over the opponent and perform an aerial Tatsumaki, it looks strange how he goes far across the screen in the wrong direction.
- Shinkuu Tatusmaki causes debug flood on some opponents (in state 111353 : changed to invalid action 5061).
- Basics have too much juggling. I can do up to 6 or 7 s.LP and c.LP on opponents that are hit in the air.

   I've been trying to "Hi-Res" those images by doubling the scale and using Radial Blur, but I'm

4. State 5061 is Air Fall Comming down, some chars dont have this..The same debug happens with PotS Ryu's Special Kick.

2. Why not taking POTS' Ryu's FX and try to double it's size with some filters ?

4. You should be using a selfanimexist trigger then. Whatever...
5. I just think the tatsumaki sends too far. The moment you pass on the other side when jumping over the opponent, if you hit with tatsumaki, he'll be sent behind Ryu.

Ahh I see wut you meant about the Tatsumaki, I went ahead and changed the Velocity on the kicks so the opponent doesnt do a hail mary across the screen..
Also I tried using PotS FX on this edit and they looked Horri-bad!!
SO I added some Placeholder FX until I can find something with a more CvS style feel to them that I like..although I do like how these FX look compared to the Old ones.. also removed the Shadows...

Updated Ryu! New Denjin and S.Hadouken, also all FX are now HiRes!! ENJOY!!!

EDIT: Removed that Horrid Afterimage from the Denjin Hadouken, fixed some sprites and added a SF4 palette in the ACT folder...

EDIT2: Fixed Hadouken Vels and anim time

Decided to add a little more to this Ryu edit, I left the old version up..but this newer edit has a few New things, such as a Hyper BG and New Port, along with some fixes I mentioned in the spoiler on page 1...ENJOY!!

Sorry I couldn't resist making a sidejoke...but still its nice to see you further updated him. I'm still sticking with the older one cuz it suits my taste better, but I bet VS fans will love you for this update.

Kiba, I was wondering if you'd ever be interested in editing ExInferi's Ken like you did Ryu here...would prove to be very interesting stuff.
