Ok :)

I know on mugenesis a guy who ripped/is ripping Heidern from Kof. I'll add him as soon as the site will be back (seems to be down till tomorrow), cause I don't remember his name.

Plus, I 'll add my Vanessa spritepack when finished, and btw I started to rip kula. About 700 sprites has been ripped. I'm now renaming them for a easier use in mugen.)

Do you still need Athena from CVS2? Now that I can rip again I need to get her ripped (if you still need them) and get Yamazaki for Iron.

Byakko wants Ryo and Iori's fireball (might as well rip all of him)

Do I owe anyone else any rips? It's been awhile.

Not owe, but if NWM is going to be down for more than just till tommorrow, I need the rerips Joram did of Twelve and Alex asap.

I gather from the MvC2 link there Gamecop and/or Val spoke to you about those rips I made and getting you to host them? (Never heard anything back from either, making sure).

Missed !  :sugoi: I was planning to start a Mai from CvS2 because existing one (from conversionworld) is really good but explods are from CvS and are really pixellized. So I would make a "BDI version" ;D with better sparks, improved sprites (somes have some tiny glitches), and may be some tiny new stuff.

So if you can/have time, yes I would be pleased if you could ripp Mai CvS2 for me. :)

I do believe that was too the work of Recruta42, although I don't think he used the debug bios method to rip Heidern from KoF98...


As for my own rips, in my puny site you'll find:
- all of Shiva's sprites from Streets of Rage 2, plus a few edits on the side
- an alpha of DBZ's Cell containing an SFF with all of his sprites from the SNES Super Butoden 2 plus all of the sprites for Cell Junior in there too (these were ripped with a debug menu, access for which involves a code that was once mentioned in a tutorial XGargoyle had posted at Dev, and which I no longer remember - still, Bandai themsleves didn't exactly make a great job aligning those...)

Indeed :yes:, it's Recruta, and indeed sprites are cropped so no axis available :-\. Added to the Kof area.

Actually there is...including the stages, effects and "new" characters (vampire Sion, Shiki, Both Len's, Aka Akiha, Executioner Ciel, Neco Arc, Mech Hisui, Warcueid, Aoko and the Blood heat super for the characters from the first MB)

I stand corrected. You probably already have this capability SD but in case you (or anyone else that may want it) does not have this capability on my artmoney tables page I added my Melty Blood Re Act table.

To rip with perfect axis pause the game>view screen.

Start animations and frames on 0

Increase frames by 1 to frame advance. Once you reach the end of an animation increase the Animation adress by 1.

Occasionally you will crash do to the animation number not existing or if you go to far on frames.

Just keep checking the next number on animations and soon you will pick back up with new animations.

For ripping FX do a super move that blacks out the BG then freeze that address. It seems to be random so you can't always use the same numbers in the address to lock it.

I can't seem to lock certain FX such as Len's QCF+Fierce and I can't seem to lock her Blood Heat frames.  Let me know if you find an adress that can cycle through those. Untill then I'll just be "creative" and work to get those clean as I need them :P

I'm not quite capable..yet, no splitdat for re-ACT yet, if i had it, it would be all over the net by now :(

But yeah, Artmoney was more or less teh answer, i though Seven Ciel's sprites would be limited to....30 or so, but she had much, much more (thanks to Sion for the info)

So yeah, i guess you can make some kind of shot factory with Artmoney, the only effects that can't be ripped yet, are those that go through substraction (Len's mist from her Lv3 super, Warakia Tatari's new attacks, Nero's Blood heat, etc)

TDS, I DL-ed the Rock Howard pack, and I got the sparks twice ??? in the main folder and in the FX folder... bad thing to name the Rock sprites with the same name (in this case, number) that those sparks --;

That's all, I think... if you can fix it, I'll been thankful :)

@Black Dahlia Isis: I seem to have lost my text document that tells the exact location Mai is in on the screen. But I don't think I had to move her any do to sprites going off screen so everything should still have perfect axis.

Any of them that use GIF format have the problem it seems, and it's because of the tool I used to batch convert them at the time. I'll be re-ripping all of them in the future.

Yeah, it's a .gif issue.
But i'm pretty sure that there are one ot two packs that, even if they use .gif, they don't have stray pixels. (For example, Anakaris, probably Marrow's)

The stray pixels on Servbot's sprites are pretty obvious (not hard to spot) & easy to remove.  I've been doing just that before applying each image to the palette & saving them as PCX files.  I'm sure KFM can vouch for me, considering he has a copy of the first beta. :yes:

Made a new MVC2 page. KFM's rips are now on KFM-MVC2 while mine are on MVC2

All I have is Sakura and some of her effects need to be repositioned. I was just getting these up as is for Orochi Herman. I'll fix up the fx later. Let me know if I resized incorrectly or something this was the 1st time I have made a MVC2 pack.

EDIT: Updated Sakura pack. Still needs a few fx realigned.

BTW have you come up with a better solution to removing the BG. And could you tell me what the value was in artmoney to resize the player correctly? I forgot to write it down.

His Ken sheet is from Gargoyle's Ken in Mugen 99-to-1.  He "ripped" these when we only had access to CvS through the PS version.  Notice the fierce punch and crouching medium kick. :chloeeyes:

I apologize for the specks that are left from the BG. They shared colors with Morrigan and I have yet to find a method to successfully remove the BG and/or change it's color. The method I used is unreliable and only makes a black bg. Not good for chars like Morrigan here :P

Reuploaded Sakura in CPS2 res. I have to rerip her CPS2 fireballs however. I already reduced the fx size by 1/2 and shouldn't have done so on a few of her projectile sprites. Ah well live and learn.

Can someone rip the sound packs from Namco X Capcom? I want to know because I'm doing a NXC based fighting game, I have all the animation and music file, but without the sound files, I can't complete all the characters.

yeah, i do  :), they're not clean though
i'll run pcxclean on the ryu sprites and leave the fx as they are for now (they share colors with the bg :\) and send them to someone

cleaned vega (duh :tongue2:) but, for some reason, some of the fx colors were erased (twice i tried), bison (boxer) and was making the yuri palette

I'm aware of that Tony, but Huitzil still has some sprites specific to DS1 that aren't appearing in the other two and don't appear in the archive. :( (It also lacks the sparks and fx, which can be ripped from DS1 easily and appear right at the tail end of the charcter's sprite set, albeit off colored).

NWM will be back up soon.

A problem including my upgrade of package 2 years back + an auto renewal mishap lead to NWM being down and soon to be up again for another year once they get the money I had to pay -_-

All DS chars are ripped and almost all SFA3 and MVC2 chars (I want to rip) are ripped. When NWM comes back I'll upload them.

It is in their computer to not renew NWM again so this IS the last year. Enjoy the extension of time and sprites.

Remember how long ago I said I would rerip Felicia and Sakura since my 1st ones were too close to the floor? Well this is it. Sent SakuraMVC2, CableMVC2, PsylockMVC2, HulkMVC2, ShumaGorathMVC2, BlackheartMVC2, HondaCVS2, and MVC2 Ryu with some stuff from MVC1 added in. Tony can upload at his convenience.

NWM still needs funds since their stupid auto renewal crap shut it down. I have 1 more payment to pay off the debt and it will be back up. After it comes back up I'll probably throw some stuff on there and be done with it until it's year is up again.

EDIT: KFM you can feel free to upload any artmoney tables or combine anything My stuff is'nt limited to Tony's site. Anyone can upload, tweak, and use my stuff in whatever you like.

I have Rock as well but he's missing a chunk of his sprites, that's when Hoshi and TDS were cleaning him they replaced his first "character" sprites by his special effects (projectiles etc.) so all of his effects appear twice in the archive and he's missing some 400 sprites >=P

... (eh ? why are Eagle and Terry in a folder with my name ? It's TDS' rips :P)

Same reason as P.O.T.S.'s. you cleaned those rips. and i believe in giving credit where it is given. no matter the amount of work.

of course, when i announce, it is "ripped by TDS, Cleaned by Byakko/P.o.T.S."

My computer went to the repair shop. i'm using my brother's computer, which does not have FTP programs and no space on its hard drive whatsoever...

Soon you won't be needing some of these rips cause I've started working on their sff files. So once an sff gets done you can grab them instead.

Just so you know, I'm making Terry with your rips. So don't bother assembling his SFF file, as I am doing so. And seeing as the sprites are open source, I believe that the SFF should be open source as well.

Just wondering on the NxC sprites that are being offered -(I never played this game, so I dont know how the animation is in the game.  I hope this doesnt sound ungrateful.) I notice that some character's sprite sheets have only 1 frame of the run animation, while others have none.  Are the characters from this game that limited in animation?  or did the sprite capture author wasnt able to get all of the sprites?

The thing is, NxC is an RPG, not a fighting game. hence it doesn't have all the same standard animations as a figthing game does. No run / walk, for example.

This will ONLY contain his voices. The only sounds for his moves that will be in it will be his Sonic Boom, Somersault Kick, and Sonic Hurricane.

Open source = TDS, but as he is no more really active on the web, it's the mod here that mostly try to keep to keep the topic updated.
Yet sometimes, with bad copy/paste, tiny mistakes can appear.

Tony, would you confirm that the ones at excalibur are the sprites ripped by TDS ? (According to what I saw in the site, it seems to be good, but I would like to be sure)

I handled the cleaning/palette extraction of Todo's spriteset back in the day, and I do recall having fix that issue as soon as it was identified and sending the fixed files back to TDS... what happened?...

I think I still have the files I worked with back then, so if the raw rips can be provided I can have that fixed.

Then maybe Tony can have that pack hosted, since it seems to be missing as his server, and the NWM server apparently won't be around for that long...


Speaking of stuff hosted at NWM, apparently I'll have to update WinRAR to check that Dhal.7z pack... Hopefully it'll be worth it, considering I also got the SFA and MVC2 ones from Tony's site...

TDS's Dhalsim rips from CvS2 available at his site were unclened, and since I had helped him by making the act file for that set, I applied it to all of it, and hosted it in my puny site (and took the opportunity to make a new page there to include not only that but my old Shiva rips and edits).

An odd thing happened when running PCXClean on the files though - in only cleaned the first 243 or so in the folder that only had the actual character sprites, which seemed odd, but was eventually fixed by using good ol' DOS's "*" to handle them by the hundred, since they were all neatly numbered.
Didn't know PCXclean had such an issue/glitch, and I wonder if it's happened to anyone else and what could have caused it...


NeO: at least in this TDS sprite pack I handled, and others that I helped him with palettes, the only effects included were those that were character specific - I don't know if there are exceptions, of if there's a separate pack only with the universal effects...

The "universal" effects (burned, shocked, hitspark, dust, supersparks) can't be ripped from ArtMoney, or are very hard to find (get the sprite value) from what I gathered. The only people who got clean rips of these sprites, that I know of, are Warusaki3 and H''. :-\

I'd be a good idea to order alphabetically the games in the main post (read: I'll do it if no one else does -- but not right now I'm too busy/lazy  ;P).

Question : I saw that many of you are using rapidshare (that automatically deletes stuff if said stuff isn't downloaded frequently). As there is currently no mod for that section, is someone making sure all the stuff there is uploaded somewhere else?

The voices from "SF3 Sound FX.rar" are a little too quick (as Worms's voices).

I'll try to rerip them.
Some sounds it seems are not in the list of default frequencies. MVC2 was real  bad with this so I didn't even bother with it. I'll play with the sounds and compare them with the ones from the soundtrack cd till I get a match.

I noticed another thing about SF31.rar, the hit sounds, this time, are a little slow.
I compared these with sounds on some .SND of others SF3 characters. I must increase the pitch (with Goldwave) for them to be the same as those on .SND.
A pitch increased of +0.3 set a good speed for the sounds of hits, fall (for those I used) but not need for other ???.

Sound rips from Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower that are different or unique to the game, save the thunder sounds during the title screen (there are 3 or 4 of them...if you really want them, guess I could add them too).

-Bishamon: ripped the complete soundset for him for grins. Hannya has a different voice when Oboro is in the armor...more of a remix, but still.
-Credits music: game's credit music, sadly can't be accessed from the sound test, but the EX Options let it play...yet cuts it off during the secord or third organ loop, so it might sound odd, but it's all good still
-Demitri Demon Billion: Shout is different
-Morrigan: sound for what I assume is her cryptic needed, but to my ear at least sounds just a touch different on the very end. Could be just me.
-Talbain Intro: Jon's got a very different intro howl for this game...really oddly timed in compliance with his intro though, given when they actually play the sound.

I have reripped Len. After discovering when I came back that Melty Blood Re Act had an update I downloaded it and found Len had some new animations.

I also noticed that the game was much more stable to rip from. Not much from my old artmoney table still worked on this updated version so I made a new one and ripped her again.

This time the ripping came out MUCH better and the FX are ripped from a pure black BG. Many things I couldn't rip the 1st time I ripped I was able to here. A few things I left in from my original rips like the forks and knives because they didn't turn up for me this time. Also the wierd stand animation where her head "grows?" is in the old rips and a few of White Len's rips since I lost my patch to play as her.

The new artmoney table along with my other tables are back online as well.

Well I could check real quick and make sure.

It is possible that I missed the other frames. Back then I used animget and (on occasions) a sprite would appear for a very small amount of time and go straight to the next without me telling it too. Animget sometimes would not be fast enough to catch it.

I use camtasia now and do not have that problem anymore. If I check her sprites and she has a disipate sprite I will rerip her.

Hoshi, yeah.  I guess I can recolor the Venom Strike dissipate to match the Double Strike one (+more words that make this make sense).  The slash effects kinda makes sense - that's how they were in KoF.

As for King's, I assumed that that purple frame was to be inserted in the middle of the blue ones (so it would be blue and flash purple every now and then) but since apparently Capcom made some kind of palfx on the fireball instead (basing this on Kyosuke's issue I just mentionned)...

These CVS1 character sprite sets should already have them. For example ChunLi has a diagonal Kikkoken.
You'll have to request any character you want ripped cause I am not going to rip all the characters.

I have ripped Mai and King, I just have to clean them. I'll probably rip Kyo. I'll have to play the game again to see what all was unique in EX mode.

Anyone knows what happened to Mugen China's sprite packs? I noticed that they trimmed the threads in the Resources & Releases forum, and when I tried to download the SS Tenka or NGBC sprites, I couldn't get any!

Give me a specific task please. I will lose motivation quickly if I attempt to get all the effects from these games. Also by effects did you mean the hitsparks and such? I am assuming you meant the "rest" of the sprites for the characters. Since I just call them effects too :P But if so you said crossover series. And in MVC2 rips they have all the effects.

I ripped the System and common in-game sounds from Soul Calibur 3.

I also added as separate rars, random sound effects from character's cut scenes in the game. I called it random since it's impossible to know what character they specifically belong to.

I'm kind of worried about my stuff being on freewebs though, is there anywhere else someone could host them? It seems most users have trouble with my site.  :dead:

don't worry DS I'm not spamming the topic, I'm in the process of ripping more stuff as i write this. Ill edit this post  ;)

EDIT:
Ripped more random sword sounds and stuff (pt3 & 4) if i were to gather what 3 mostly consists of it would be sounds of chains and walking on grass, whereas 4 is stuff breaking and small knives/daggers hitting the ground.
I actually really like the sound that involves someone landing from a jump (pt4, ROOT_550)

btw, i was just wondering but is there anyone against sharing sounds from 3D fighting games?
I just realized that nobody has been doing it... :shocked3:

Dreamcast rips are not possible until I fix my other computer. Having a "no input signal" message. Tried my other monitor and same thing, also tried another video card, same thing.o_O

And all I did was unplug the monitor then plug it back up and it's been like this. :(

This computer can't run chankast.

As for any ripping not mentioned in my sig, I wouldn't hold my breath. Many things I ripped with artmoney could have been ripped differently.

Phobos is supposed to be ripped in parts. I just ripped whatever the game was giving me. Also mugen isn't my main hobby anymore, most of my free time is spent drawing and coloring my comic or playing Super Swing Golf on the Wii now.

You can PM Kung Fu Man for those particular sprites you need for Morrigan however to be faster. He has them.

Is the RAM in your computer connected properly.  ??? Sorry to be off topic but something like this happened to me twice and that was the problem.

I don't know why either. I think Mugen Archive is about to bite the dust (if it hasn't already)

Someone needs to make a website where people can upload works and it is actually maintained. "looks at KFM" =P

I hope Mugen Archive comes back up, or hasn't lost the files. I don't even have the CVS2 spark packs I ripped and I won't be re uploading anything I ripped again. I get annoyed having to move these sprites around. People warehouse all kinds of stuff, why does no one want to host my sprites >:( :P

EFZ sprites are easily rippable from the game's data.  All you need is the plugin.

The sprites rips have been extremely useful, but ive also been wondering this for a while.

You did some sprites rips of thanos from mvc2 but the problem is that fx sprites are coloured wrong the orange explosion shown here is meant to be green and blue i think, there are also quite few others with that problem

Is there anyway of fixing it so its like the game without manually recolouring each sprite with that problem?

Well, it wasn't my site. Though I did not realize that they were not hosting sprites anymore.

I need to update this topic badly. I actually intended to place my sprite rips on my server again soon anyway. Figured I could use it to potentially gain new readers for my comic. I also plan to rip new stuff. It's all really shallow and just an attempt to gain new readers/hits on my comic. But hey, that's called marketing strategy right? =p

Einferias Wolfmage is right. I used your rips for CvS Yun and and CvS Chun Li and made my my 1st ever Mugen content with your spritework. I'll be completely honest after I released Master Chun Li. I went to the site to get more work and it wasn't there and I wanted to cry really bad and didn't have a shoulder to lean on.

I want to make more character using your awesome spritework and I would prefer your sprites because they are so fun to work with. I blessed enough to have your CvS Hibiki laying around so I have work for now. But perhaps after I am done with her you can hook me up with some sprites for new character.

Meh, if like [E] said it's their method that results in cropped sprites, and not them cropping them for no reason, you can't really blame them.

if they rip the textures they must be in powers of 2. but they can pslit them into smaller tiles that are powers of two so the actual sprites just need to be in multiples of 2, I think they are in multiples of 8.

Mainly Ken edits of SF3->SFA + some original poses/moves, I used some of them for my XXX2 (my shadow shotoklone). Also, he made similar edits for some characters, but I only have Ken edits, I think...

Also, I found Ederbeast's KOFMI2 sounds (character voices, common & stage SFX) uploaded in Pao De Mugen:

Not sure where I should post this since I assume most ppl that make stuff won't read the "advertise your site" thread.

I'll try here since it is relevant.

I'm considering taking down the archive section on my forum. It didn't take off as much as I'd liked due to the 2mb upload limit I could never find a way to get rid of.

Are there any good suggestions for it's replacement? I'm thinking about just uploading everything onto a simple web page where you just scroll down and find it in a sea of links. I won't be spending time on web design :P

Maybe I could have a submissions thread on my forum where people can submit stuff they want me to host? Then again, in this day and age is that even necessary?
