Ripping sprites from Flash Games, hat's the best way to do it?  I saw an old post here Duo Solo created recommending the use of SWF decompiler... Is there an easier or more efficient way to accomplish this?

*Edit: Apparently this game has a protective code on it which disallows others from using decompilers for obtaining the sprites and sounds from flash.
How would one retrieve sprites from a flash game on the internet without the use of a decompiler?

Sothink SWF Decompiler. It is updated quite often, to be able to rip the sprites.

Be warned: some games has graphics done "on the fly", which means sprites generated by codes in real time.
That kind of sprite can't be extracted using this kind of tool

Yea I noticed.
The game I'm attempting is being difficult as hell to rip, it is in .dcr format.
I read somewhere that ripping from a flash embedded with this file type is impossible for SWF Decompiler.
Either I'm using SWF wrong or those rumors are true.

You can't use a swf decompiler on a .dcr file.
SWF and DCR are not the same thing and are not interchangable.

I'm sure there are ways to decompile a .dcr file, but those would be beyond me. If you do a google search for 'DCR decompiler', you should get results.
i think we should call it an "engine" so we don't look like total idiots because otherwise we'd be arguing about a "game" and that would be somehow "dumber" than arguing about an "engine" on the "internet" for countless hours

Instead of ripping the animations via a decompiler, I'm using animget instead.  This isn't the most interesting method in the world but it works like a charm.
Thanks for the help guys.

Using AnimGet or a decompiler have both their advantages and inconvenients.

AnimGet :
+ Easy to use.
+ Fastest way.
+ You get all the anims from the game directly.
- Resolution depends on your screen.
- No liberty.

Decompiler :
+ Full resolution rips, ie. better graphical quality.
+ Liberty to take the pieces and assemble them as you want.
- Much longer.
- You'll have to recreate most anims yourself by rotating sprites and pasting them on a single layer.

Kronos used a Flash Decompiler.
