Iced said, September 16, 2011, 05:55:07 amall in all, your idea reminds me a lot of a mugen wiki, wouldnt it be a better effort to strenghten one of the already existing ones instead of starting one anew?Where is that mugenwiki ? in this forum ? or another site ?I'm really not interested in doing this for another site...

In fact that was the main focus. Not the forums. In Nunor's "I'm back" topic he said he 50% likes the way things are now and 50% doesn't. Maybe he 100% loves the new forum but misses the other half he created all those years ago. The original vision for Guild if you will.
First, because there is no such thing as POTS's style.Second, because if we were to do it for POTS then we would have to do it for every other author who made their own custom gameplay mechanics.

I think warusaki style subforum would be cool too (CVS Chars with the warusaki style groove bar)
It shouldn't be named custom CVS because that doesn't exist. There's edited/custom characters and non-edited/custom characters, just straight conversions. And why would Warusaki need his sub-forum that doesn't make sense."Warusaki style groove bar?" That doesn't exist okay? Stop saying that. There's CVS2 characters and custom/edited characters.
Facebook is too limited. This was my idea for each game stickie topic : 1999Bonne Jenet : JohnFreeman : JohnGato : DeuceGrant : M.M.R.Hokutomaru : MappyHotaru : Jin Kazama, Adamskie, GMKim Dong Hwan : Tukemon, Angel Msyt, Px, KazuyaKim Jae Hoon : Tukemon, Dloop, Angel Msyt, KazuyaKain : Butti & SancyoKevin : MappyMarco : M.M.R., KhnRock : NeoGouki, SSonicTerry : Yagami, Makomako, GM Tizoc : M.M.R., GM
yeah it's not practical at all compared to a wiki or a database. keeping this up through threads makes it more of a hassle to search and update
I recommend contacting Claws if his is still going. He's got a good format.Shamrocks has gone down, dunno if it's getting renewed. There is too much coming out now and keeping track of it via threads will not be easy or that accurate. Especially as if someone updates a character by creating a new thread you have to find the new one, delete the old one (which could be pages back) and then add the new.Wiki is absolutely the way to go. People have tried them, but it does tend to get on top of you without some decent help.
Nunor said, September 16, 2011, 12:33:58 pmI'm really not interested in doing this for another site...What do you mean by another site? Not this forum or another domain?I'd love to see the forum have an OpenID provider and the seperate wiki to accept OpenID.
I see Claws' wiki and even help with update when I could. And this idea gonna fail if it's made in a wiki, just like Claws'.Unless here in the forum there're moderators that could care about make that database up-to-date, and it's way easy to manage than a wiki, IMO. I support Nunor's idea, and I offer to be a mod for that subforum in the case this idea goes green light

Would this replace anything currently on the forum? Would this be a resource only or would people be able to comment? and is there a way to make it sorted by fields?
