Wrong thread mate, here we are discussing only about the Comeback Technique.

I'm going to update the first post.

New mock up, plus a question:
for the command input I also thought that, with d+2P = Counter Attack and with d+2K= Evasive Roll, what do you think?

For the evasive roll, do we get to choose which direction we roll to?

I guess that's possible if the command was both df+2K and db+2K? (I mean, either one. Like, the forward version or the backwards version, you could choose :P)

I don't know if they should be able to roll away. It might put throw characters at an even larger disadvantage.
Also, if someone posts in the wrong spot you could test out your ability to split and merge posts in this board Alex (or any other mod here)

I added this in the first post:

What anim (and sprite) number can we use for this? I suggest 3000.

I played with it a little bit (positioning and timings), looks a bit better I think;

I think the command should not require a directional input. Just the 2 button presses, which is how most games with that kind of recovery options handle it.

Or wait SFA3 is with forward or back I think. I dunno it's just the down part that's weirding me out.

The down direction made sense to me because you're usually falling through the air and you want to get DOWN fast to do the recovery, so yeah.

But you shouldn't need to hold it!
