I always thought that this MMX sprites deserved good moves and overall character.
So I saw it on ur Zero, and then I start changing and learning more and more, and now redrawing : )
My only experience on creations is on Super Mario World hacking, I released some demos and sprites on smwcentral, I was known as RamzaNeko/YamiRamzaNeko/SatsujinshaRamzaNeko : p
my best work there was Neko Nightmare.
I'm not perfect with english, I learn with games ya, but I speak english with ppl on skype :)

Personally I think you should use another Portrait for the Super.

Just... make sure you arent just taking my code and pasting it. Since the character has variables set on his moves, it may glitch the character (As you can see with the Hadangeki and Sabre Combo move). Somebody once did this (I think it was Donutman)

I made 2 landing codes like Hyouretsuzan one for the Danchien(fire from MMX5) and Rakukojin (MMX6 Metal Shark). Still need to make the anchor projectile from Rakukojin...

X-Fire Armor (Megaman X Command Mission)
used a screen shot from game, so I dont know if its perfect now, but I will check ingame soon cuz I have a save of it on my PS2 MMC , but my console was borrowed.
I really want to edit the Dark Hold to make after the zero hit pause X come and do Upper with this armor (when Level 3), and axl probally come too, making a trinit attack... I think If I try to do will take much time cuz of my low knowledge, if someone want to help I'll be happy, but if not I'm sure I can do in several days....
So please answer this who can help me with this :x

The project looks very promising but dude the videos show alot of mash up combos that dont look very good, if youre going for a style, then just pick one. If you go with mvc3 then i can help you as much as i can since im a very good zero user in the game. Sprite wise they are ok, i like the dark hold super it just needs some more improvements and generally all the animations look a bit choppy, not all bad but it would look way better if things were coded better.

Btw its not 100% decided but were working towards mvc3 style(4 buttons, low-medium-heavy-special) and x factor. There will be more supers(like his supers from tvc) and some costume ones that are being sprited. Ramza has managed to get some good looking background effects so im going to just stick with them.

I would rather prefer the old MvC2 standard (4 attack buttons) with mvc3 features (hitstunt degradation and such), even if I like MvC3, the button layout is like only childs could get this working... no offense, but I relly liked MvC2 scheme, that forced you to LEARN how to combo, and not just mashing buttons like crazy (although, there are relly good players on MVC3...)
Anyway, I hope you add to him more supers, his hypers fom MvC3 and the most important, a rich variety of basics, so he doesn't look "limited"

learn combos? Are you talking about magic combos?that's more button mashing if anything. Don't worry I know how to use zero in mvc3 and I will try incorporate all his combos/otg stuff.

those were just early designs I've made better ones and added the effects colors into the palette. Tomorrow I will upload a template sprite so that people can make their own palettes.
Right now the progress is kinda slowish, fixing the sff file and air(haven't touched the coding but its all scattered and shit). Hopefully once ramza provides me with all the newly edited sprite fixes I can start coding and modifying this character into a 4 button layout.

After looking at that one stance frame, it just chimed in that the ponytail is either too high compared to classic era artwork or at the wrong angle if you were looking to mimic how it was handled in Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Compared to Zero, it's really detailed. It's nice, but the helmet's outline color doesnt match with the rest of the body.

To add to that, the outline of his right hand (left to us) is similar to that of his helmet I think. Otherwise, that's damn good o_o

You need more movement on that stand, for instance, the hair, should move a bit separated from the body and react whenever Zero breaths... and the hand... I don't know why, but it's looking a bit weird animated like that.

Nothing actually with D-Glaive... I can think about a diagonal attack or something ...but I think the Σ Blade is better ...D glaive is too big.

But the wing animation is not too necessary
The hyper will be like the wolverine one u can see on mvc3, Zero use the Hyper ignition hiting the enemy with a launcher and use DarkHold, then transform and fly fast passing by enemy body, then the X effect of claw ( same of wolverine ) hit enemy multiple times .

-No one can ever create a Strider Hien, dont matter how you edit Hiryu, its always will look like Kenshin Strider Hien.
-No one can ever create a Zero character, cuz you can't use frames like Megaman X series, cuz dont matter how you edit it will look like ariel sprites.
I'm doing all for fun and trying to make a nice char for ppl have fun too, I said that on first post here.

"Good" to see that you will bring something particular from that project to public. Its a shame.
But since you started, let me clarify the things to you:
- Stop to play the victim role. You know what you've done.
- you are shifiting the things there. Its not that Ariel has rights over your work, its that YOU used his sprites to make "your work". Since the first time I saw those sprites, I had a strange feeling that I already saw this somewhere.
- If "your experience" is to use other people works, my bad. I know that many places, like MFG, won't give a crap if you use someone's sprites, you just need to credit the original creator (or not), they don't care. Its their right, but isn't everyone who agrees with that. Sinhra is a very cool and pacific forum, one of the best mugen foruns out there, and they like to remain in peace.
- You lost your girls to make this? LOL, you're taking Mugen too seriously.
- There is no "kind of law". Is because the original creator is closed source and its a bee-otch about people using his work. So, they just don't want trouble. Its pretty easy to understand it, no?
- The part of "no one can ever create.." is bulls***. Sorry to be direct.
And dude, stop that "if you ppl want me to stop" thing. its just disgusting! Its like those people who wanna kill themselves and do not have the enough courage and keep saying "I will kill myself, I will kill myself"
If you do wanna to stop, JUST STOP and its done. If you wanna to continue, just do it.

some of the white tones in the hair are shared with the saber plus the helmet has some dots that are part of the saber tones (darker ones) as well. Anyways I'll do a palette that how that turns and asking is that was intentional or not

The template is fine. It doesn't really effect the palette because the dots are white, not discolored.

Well first you need to decide what style you want.
It looks like you wanted to go for SNKvC by the number of shades, which is fine but that gamee was more SNK style than it was Capcom and less true to the Capcom series style.
I would suggest you go with the all ready set base of MvC, which includes a MegaMan base!!!
Again the shades really change the style so the less the better for MvC style.
If anything stay close to the base design, as much as possible.
Having said that another point must be brought up. Doing it as scratch work is very hard and usually never as good as it should of been. Not to mention that it takes way too long to complete... :(
You could instead try frankenspriting (editing original bases) so keep that in mind :ninja:
One thing I did note is your character's size, and a very positive decision you made there for a Mega Man X creation.
Yes X has to be bigger, X must be by all logic an adult reploid or whatever you call them :P
The problem there though is the Mega Man base from MvC is by all means just a kid :-X
But not to worry, there is, thankfully, a lot of bases to choose from MvC!!!
You want to pick a character that is near identical and all ready a Mega Man clone. I chose Jin from MvC.

Okay so now for some editing :D

As you can see a lot of detail was removed and the base outline was kept. Then Base parts were added from the original MvC Mega Man and then stretched to adult size.
Remember to keep the original stuff from MvC Mega Man as untouched as possible, less detail = better quality = best style. I mimicked the head of yours but again watered it down with less detail to match MvC Mega Man.
It wasn't a perfect conversion and some areas could be touched up like the legging could be smoothed out or have detailed removed for better results, the colors could also be enhanced as well.
After that it was a simple matter of replacing MvC Jin colors with MvC Mega Man.
Now compare that with a rendition of zero in a similar style.

They match up pretty well I think? Try it this way to make an animation and see how you like it.
Use the design if you like, you don't even have to credit me, just give us an awesome MvC Mega Man X ;)

I believe is the best option, you could restore the classic feel instead of making him with a stand like Zero which feels odd. Also be carefull with the shadding and lines. Good luck^^

Nice one!!!!!! Maybe if you add an aditional frame when he pounces the floor, and an intermediate one when his hair is moving due to the rekooha "friction"... but looks nice so far!

Some examples of custom hitpause animation handling can be Nobuyuki's Magneto (S.LP, A.LP...) and his Wolverine...
Take this in mind so you can actually animate the sword smoothly and add even more quality to your actual work ;)

The gethits need more frames, you can base some off mvc megaman, so you can adapt the extra frames to zero... just as a suggestion.

Ok, i tested your zero and so far aside from not having a portrait and icon yet:
-some of his crouching basics are palette swapped
-no hitbox for an uppercut attack
i believe that's all i can find

Actually, coding a helper is like coding another character, is better for you and actually faster than explods, the secret are changestates, redirections and destroyselfs (but in the case of the saber this last will likely never be used).
I actually did something like that to a MvC2 styled Hayato I coded some time ago, he has a transparent sword coded as a helper.

- The saber slashes are off, Light Punch or whatever should be the down slash, Medium should be the "across" slash and Heavy should be the wide slash.
- Saber slashes seem a bit large huh? :o
- Denjingeki doesnt hit most opponents
- I think that medium crouching kick shouldnt sweep the opponent, and also the energy blast seems a bit off

I can't give too much feedback as Zero ATM, is mega-alha... Lol
+ Sprites look great, good job. :yes:
- Some animations and movements can be executed much more smoothly
- I dislike the "hammer" move. It is very inconvenient.
- Zero's blade and LP has a fuckton of unnesseccary range (You probably already know this but it's worth pointing out...)
Aside from the many other obvious problems, these are errors that must be fixed.

from what is actually fully coded so far the only problems i see is
- the back dash looks a but weird maybe make it go furhter
- add movecontact to the sword moves so they connect better like combos
fx and specials are looking great so far keep up the awesome job :D

Some Feedback:
- Half the Sprites aren't shared, so its causing a color issue with his sprites
- Awful CLSN's!! Like I'd give you a screen shot example, if it were only one animation or two.. But its ALL of them!? O_O
- His "Ryuenjin (Dragon Flame Blade)" despairs to soon, when its hitting the opponent. Same go's for the lighting version.
- Why's there an unusual white flash when he uses some attacks? Personally I think its odd.
- when dashing: you can still crouch. when leads to his after image lagging behind him still.
- Some attacks don't have much stun time. Its almost like you never hit the person
- I don't understand why both medium & Strong crouch kick make the opponent trip?
