Hi, guys from MFG, again!

Today, I re-announce the project I'm working again. The Ultimate MUGEN Championship, and you already know that.

Let me reintroduce the concept: Just like ScruffyDragon's DC vs. Marvel. UMC is divided in phases, the Phase One features 8 leagues comprised of 3 characters and 2 solo entries. Phase Two extends membership to 6 characters per league, and 8 more leagues were added, the 2 solo entries were aided by 6 more characters, making an additional league. And Phase Three... is Top Secret.

The main preimise for the game is:

"2000 years ago, a devastating force known as Dracket threatens reality using the Forbidden Black Flame in order to obtain the Galactic Triangle. But the 9 Legendary Flame protectors fought him in a powerful battle, only one survived the encounter, and that's me. I destroyed Dracket with my unique White Flame, and the Galactic Triangle is safe... until now. 2000 years later, Dracket is back from the dead and this time, I cannot give another option than creating a Fighting Tournament where the best of the best competes in order to destroy Dracket once more and recover the Galactic Triangle.... These are the words of Kung Fu Man."

Spriters wanted to convert Non-CVS styled characters into the ones seen in CVS series. Li Kun's converted Morrigan sprites can be used as an example.

Gameplay is a mix between Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, The King of Fighters XIII and Super Street Fighter IV.
Fatalities will be included.

Material used from the following games:

looks cool.
But there's a lot of empty space in the select screen imo. Maybe make the small portraits bigger?
Also, you should pick another color for the font in the victory screen. Something that pops up. It looks too similar to the background. All I could think of is using some tint or shade of green since it's complementary. (it would look fruity though :P) Or you could make the box darker if you don't want to change the color.

Oh, MK 2011 had become a success last year (even a Komplete Edition was released) that I'm going to announce the following:

 -Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Liu-Kang will wear their respective MK 2011 primary attires along with their respective stances.

Arent some of those styles 4 button and some 6? You can easily make mp versions of light/heavy attacks for most characters, but some look bad. Fx/announcer/sounds/etc would clash heavily. I cant view videos so I'll have to wait to see if the choas kind meshes together?

The roster is better small. Its easier to expand later than come up short trying to go big too quickly. I know nothing of MK/KI/etc, but the SF roster has numerous good bases to choose from(waru, Pots, Jman, etc). Try to take full advantage of this. It can make a 2 day character a 5-10 hour character to code.

LordSinistro, if I put Killer Croc (albeit as a special guest), the fatalities for the roster will be bowdlerized. On the another hand, I must await for your approvation in the Batman Project they are making in CVG United.

And talking about warusaki3, can I ask for him about giving permission or are now open-source? I semi-understand japanese thanks to Super Sentai and Kamen Rider.

I will ask MDD if the Noise Factory style sprites count as CVS-style sprites, to make palettes ala CVS.

By the way, would there be some bosses there?

Dracket will be the final boss for Phase One...

However, for Phase Two, expect the likes of M. Bison (Dictator), Shao Kahn, Gargos, Rugal Bernstein, Neo-Dio, Justice (from Guilty Gear), etc.

ok question..does Scorpion and Sub-Zero HAVE to be their MK9 (2011) incarnations? with  Sean Altly's ninja sprites you could just pallete swap the two and have them in your project. he released Sub-Zero already.

Good news, li kun gave me permission to use his CVS-styled Morrigan's sprites, indicating that she will be seen soon.

Oh, and I'm making a poll about incorporating special guest characters.

Submit your special guest characters to be included, only one will appear... but take note, no Marvel and DC, no kid to pre-teen oriented Anime (either Shonen or Shojo) and Cartoons, no Tokusatsu (excluding GARO), no wrestling, everything that their inclusion will bowdlerize the Fatalities of the roster.

The result is another Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe... because in that game, the Fatalities are modified in order to meet DC Entertainment standards, basically the gore is non-existent in that game.

the best I could say for the MK side is use Sean's sprites. they may not be the MK9 look but you'll be alot closer to having 2 MK Ninjas done. as for Liu you'll have to commission someone or something.

I don't think it'd be either Jak or Kratos since both of them would need to be custom sprited and that won't be happening since someone would have to commission the sprites.

Scaner joins the battle!

I'm announcing that UMC goes officially to M.U.G.E.N 1.1, check the changes I made on the HUD. (Reworked timer, MK4's "Fight!" and names inside the lifebars, not sure if putting back the KO sign or not). Take note that for now, the Revenge Bar and Sword Indicator are absent for the moment.

Also, I'm working on the main character of the project: Scaner.

P.S.: I'm putting Ryu, Ken and Morrigan on hold until next advice.
