Well, Yoko was winning that so handily, we decided to close it early and go ahead and give you guys a chance to vote on which character you want me to actually make new sprites for.

Yoko and Mai! I know Mai has been in a lot of stuff but she would be pretty awesome in CVTW style! Also Yoko would be pretty cool to play with in this game.

Now that I look at it, Yoko seems pretty good in the lead. So those that win the extra poll, will they get in the game as bonus characters?

Voted for Mai and Yoko. Mai, because we need a female SNK representative in here, and Yoko because... I dunno, guess we gotta have someone other than Goku to represent anime. I don't really know Yoko, but if it helps flesh out the roster and make it look a bit more varied then I'm all for it :P

I'm looking forward to see what girls are going on the no sprites poll.. That could be more hard to choose from I would believe, since they don't exist... I will not come with suggestions but I have a feeling somehow that Baynoetta is one of those 4 (not a suggestion only a guess)

I think it was the CvS styled version I played against before. her AI was really good back in the WinMugen days. I'm lookin forward to seeing Yoko if she wins.

I think Mai has been overdone by many authors, and there already is a KOF and Fatal Fury rep in the game I'm voting Clara and Yoko mostly just for variety.

While I was doing research trying to come up with some varied options that already have sprites, I discovered Clara. She's awesome. I really wanted her to win, honestly, but I should have known from the start Yoko would win handily because tits and also because anime. :P

I think with Yoko taking this fairly easily I'd say give it until the end of the day if anything, but otherwise it seems pretty obvious who the winner is going to be. I'm impartial to any of the winners anyhow, but the new sprites are definitely more interesting :)

Honestly Michonne and Chell have the best possible movesets. With Michonne though you would need to make her more than just a generic sword-user though somehow. Chell has the potential to be overpowered but none of her moves are particularly used for fighting so it can also be difficult. I voted Michonne.

I'm assuming Power Girl is mostly the boob factor though I have no clue how she is in comics.

Well good to know then, honestly I like everyone in this poll nearly equally gameplay-wise. You'll have to find a way to seperate Power Girl from Superman's moveset (since both are in the game ofc) though but it probably won't be hard.

Michonne doesn't just have a sword. She has her two zombie pals and her moveset would be a mix of zombie helpers (the possibility of including her is one of the reasons I ditched Jill's helpers) and sword-based attacks. Lara Croft is a legendary video game character, and her moveset would be very similar to the one I planned for Indiana Jones, with various traps and cinematic moves. I think you're underselling both of them and it's a little uncool to dismiss two of the options I provided while saying "there are way more interesting characters." It's a little insulting.

 I think the possibilities with the portal fighting would be pretty interesting, fighting with portals, companion cubes and some GLaDOS based stuff would be neat. I would expect Lara to draw a lot of inspiration from Drakes' movelist in playstation all-stars, I don't watch The Walking Dead so I don't know about Michonne, maybe almost like a tamer version of Jill? And Power Girl I pretty much expect to be almost like a Sakura is to Ryu, similar but different enough, and from the comments above, much more wreckless perhaps.

I'm interested in seeing how Power Girl plays differently from Supes.

BUT, since I was never much a fan of her to begin with I voted Chell because she seems like someone who would have a pretty unique moveset.

I choose Lara. Her moveset could be really good. Haven't played any Portal games,but Chell also sounds interesting. Could be VERY wrong, but Michonne sounds like she'd be influenced by Frank West(zombies, maybe random weapons) with a sword. Not a bad idea, but Frank himself could be DLC once the sprites are done. Don't know much about Power Girl, but doesn't she have the same powers as Superman? Of course she could play differently, but I'd prefer Wonder Woman. More to her arsenal.

On topic though, I really don't know much about any of these chars... Aside from Lara. Now that I think about it... Maybe I should have voted for Lara instead.... I haven't played the reboot yet. It would most likely be based on her classic version. Her moveset would be a lot like the one I posted here (http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/possible-movie-character-poll-included-141648.0.html) for Indiana Jones, just minus the whip attacks and more gun stuff.

It's nice that Yoko won and there will be another version.  Even though Warusaki made a good one, his version has some weird bug that makes characters fly off screen.

She would be perfect for a fighting game for that very reason, her sword skills. I'm not a fan of people presuming I would have just made her a "generic sword fighter." She would have sword-based attacks, yes, because that's part of her character, but I feel like people somehow expect me to be more creative than actual fighting game companies sometimes. Why shouldn't she have mostly sword attacks?

I've planned movesets already for everyone but Power Girl, and Michonne was going to have some zombie helpers for pressure, some varied sword attacks, a Rick-assisted super move, among other stuff. She wouldn't have just been Sword Uppercut, Sword Slash, Rushdown Sword Slash, Supers, but oh well. I'll have fun making whoever wins.

I personally think the reason for the lack of popularity for her is due to this forum's target audience most likely knowing more of

A. Video games
B. Anime
C. Comic books

than TV shows no matter how popular they may be.




That or they would prefer another swordswoman representative.

Never seen that show a day in my life. Can't vote for someone I know nothing about. I have no incentive to do so. Same with Chell. Never played Portal 2. Race is not an issue at all.

Yeah at first I was with Michonne, but I changed my vote to Chell. As much as I want Michonne in the game, she looks pretty bad in the standings. I'm fine with it as long as either one wins. I'm not much of a comic book guy. Sorry everyone but I hope the others win.

more likely walkind dead isnt as popular with the common person as are the other characters which all have at least a heavy footprint in media. Shes the most recent and least known.

The sky's the limit with the portal gun, really; teleportation moves are just the beginning. Long-range pokes via portals, maybe a move where she sends the opponent high into the air via a portal and have them fall to the ground for damage, then there's the gels, turret summoning... the possibilities are endless.

For chell you can construct a moveset based on noob saibot pretty easily.  the thing is that it wont ever be as interesting as the original game, since she would be hella broken.  you can still do interesting hypers, stick the opponent between two portals for velocity then dislodge the bottom portal and let them crash against the ground.
use the grav gun to pick up the opponent and throw them away into a portal, then imediately preparing an exit portal right under her so that the opponent can be thrown up, etc.

The real interesting stuff would be to be able to shoot both portals and let moves arrange themselves around that, but that would be utterly broken.

I thought I read a post saying she uses other stuff. They probably meant other stuff and portals. But since I haven't played the game I didn't know if she was an alternate character from the main that uses portals.

Peegee, I can see her being really interesting, sortof like a super powered zangief, and she is incredibly popular, it would be a huge boost.

Jnp, chell is the silent protagonist of the game, she uses a portal gun with a grav gun option, , that and she has special shoes that prevent her from taking any damage from falls.

Michonne. There already is a good Lara Croft-char in case you guys didn't know.
And there are very few chars from TV series. Though to me she'll always be Michonne from the comics which luckily looked pretty much the same.

Yeah thats the part I was thinking of. Didn't know there was an actual confirmation behind it though. I just wasnt sure if they were either being serious about the whole brain damage thing (since it was brought up again later iirc) or if it was just part of the game's dark humor.

So, this is a fun choice. My friend and I are working out a moveset now. I'll open up a thread soon for ideas, after I have a first sprite to show off. She will be done after Mario (who is very close to finished), Axel, and Wesker, but before the final boss (probably). The coolest thing about this is I get to play Portal 2 again for inspiration. :D

Sprites. I'm coding my own version as a bonus character in CvTW, but in the past, getting hung up coding moves right after I sprite them slows down the spriting process, and Jango has waited long enough, so I'm just coding enough of the love to make sure the animations look right in game, and then I'm moving on.

All that's left to do for him are one special move, his throw, one super, and his personal stuff (taunt, intro, win pose, etc.).

I normally code as a complete sprites.
