If this thread can get a bit more organized, it might fit be able to be added into the spriter's resources thread.  I'd advise updating the first post with new packs that people post with spoilered previews/links to make things simpler.

this is a great idea; I might contribute mine later, as some of those can be colour separated into full nudity, so I am not sure if they are fitting for the topic.

Skullomania = Sean Altly

Seraph Ares is currently ripping sprites and voices from BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend. And the sprites are already color-seperated:

The color separation isn't his work, it's actually part of the sprites.  He just changed the palette so that it would be all separated by default.

First post updated. ...I need to know if you guys are down with this format. Feedback please.

@maximilianjenus ...whatever is color separated, nudity or not, this is the place to keep record of it. ;)

@DivineWolf ....Can I kindly ask you to post the sprites of the characters like others have posted? KFM and Psylocke by Girard are up already and linked. Would I be asking too much if you posted an image of the rest you mentioned? ...and thanks!  ;)

First post updated. ...I need to know if you guys are down with this format. Feedback please.
Guile should be "SFZA/MvC2/CvS Guile", I think, since he has sprites from all three of those games. Although attaching the CvS label might be a bit confusing cause people might expect an actual CvS Guile, but I think the image in the spoiler will clear that up.
Title: Re: Color Separated Database
Post by: MaxBeta on July 10, 2013, 05:40:32 pm

^ I thought about this as well earlier....I should've gone with "CPS2 Guile" right off the bat, even though CVS and MVC2 aren't CPS2 games, the extended sprites from these games included in your Guile are still predominant of his CPS2 look.

Or just Capcom Guile.
Title: Re: Color Separated Database
Post by: Sheng Long on July 12, 2013, 08:02:58 am
CPS2 games include SFII, SFA 1 - 3, MvC1, These sprites were fat. Later games like CvS2 (and MvC2 maybe?) I guess they had to make them skinnier for whatever reason. I thought they had just rescaled them in game. However, trying to resize the new sprites back to the CPS2 look, they looked rather stretched.
Title: Re: Color Separated Database
Post by: MaxBeta on July 12, 2013, 09:02:45 pm
I have to say I agree somewhat with what you've stated N-Mario...but to my understanding CvS2 and MvC2 sprites that are expanded from their original CPS2 look were indeed scaled in those two games.

Its all a Native Aspect Ratio issue....CPS2 games and even Naomi console games both were built with 16:9 HD resolutions in mind and had a Widescreen Native Aspect Ratio...that explains the "fat" sprites. However all these games were played throughout the years mostly in 4:3 Aspect Monitors which is what arcade cabinets and home consoles normally had then.

Here's what Dreamcast MvC2 looks like when forced to 768 x 448
(which you could say is basically a hires ratio or double the size of CPS2's ratio 384 x 224)

...In any case I'm gonna go with MC Double's suggestion and call these type of sprites Capcom sprites, because it serves a more generalized spectrum.

Thanks MC Double. ;)
Title: Re: Color Separated Database
Post by: Bastard Mami on July 14, 2013, 06:11:20 pm
not exactly, you got most of the bases right but one little detail changes the meaning of what you said.

capcom's arcade monitors were wider, pixel ratio wise, but their physical size/proportion still made them 4:3, so the characters did not look fat, instead they looked more like a double res sprite width wise.
Title: Re: Color Separated Database
Post by: MaxBeta on July 17, 2013, 01:53:53 am
^ yes, because of the nature of the monitors in these arcades, the widescreen 16:9 ratio sprites would appear to be "elongated" when fit in standard fullscreen 4:3 ratio. I didn't directly write it but the information I posted certainly implied it. Thanks for clarifying it.

Wrong thread, but I'll reply anyway:
- for uploading a palette choose an image hosting site such as Photobucket, Imgur, TinyPic etc. and upload it there;
- for putting something in Mediafire you have to register first.

Necro!

Since Froz won't be here till the end of year, I'm just going to drop the sprites that he CSed here: Street Fighter Alpha + Edited Sprites W/Axis (http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/street-fighter-alpha-edited-sprites-waxis-154750.msg1856714.html;topicseen#msg1856714)

Also, I have a question, would it be possible to post some MUGEN characters that already has CSes? I don't mean the exact character, but maybe a list, because someone may be interested in those sprites. Just an idea.
Title: Re: Color Separated Database
Post by: Jiggeh on November 09, 2013, 03:07:25 pm
If nothing else it would be very nice to have a more complete reference on what's actually out there.
Title: Re: Color Separated Database
Post by: Niitris on November 09, 2013, 03:19:55 pm
Yes, I don't want to do any repeats of what's already out there. I remember starting on a '99 Kyo separation only to find out 2 weeks later that someone had already done one (link no longer working)... this was when CS KoF sprites weren't common AFAIK.

I don't really bother with CPS2 separation because I don't know what's been done or not amongst other reasons. I'll try to compile a list of what's out there later.

Okay, getting started (maybe someone can make a more organized list/database in OP or in the Color Separation thread):

Did all of this and didn't even bother to read OP... wow. :S

Title: Re: Color Separated Database
Post by: Niitris on November 09, 2013, 07:09:17 pm
I don't think PotS ever released sprite packs so it probably wouldn't apply.

The fact that this thread hadn't been updated in 2 months despite the projects that have happened since then is puzzling (could have something to do with the Sprite Projects thread, but better organization in both places would help).
Title: Re: Color Separated Database
Post by: MaxBeta on November 09, 2013, 07:21:27 pm
^ Actually that would be my fault given I've picked up on a second job and been away from the mugen scene.

If anyone could help post the latest works that have been released I would gladly add them to the first post.

Thank you.

Just wanted to mention that Froz released Houmaru and Yoko a while ago. Those and his other projects are all located in this thread. The first post should be updated with it.

Also JTP's CS of Yuri is available in Quickfist's release of her.

He has a Cyclops (http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/cyclops-buckus-cs-patch-154741.0.html) too, but I believe that it's getting redone.

I remember someone separating the tights on an SvC version of Chun li a long time ago. Anyone know about that?
