Gotta make this quick since I'm playing in an online tourney soon.

I can get about 100 sprites done a week (at least with her)... I'd say I'm about 20% done at this point. The actual character update will be in the next couple of days; template soon.

I wish I knew how to increase the size of animated gifs... looks hard to see :P

Quick, simple CS of Joe... side WIP (only took about 15 minutes for this one animation).
Will start in December along with Ryo.
Athena & Mai (not posted) simple CS are around 45% done... aiming to finish by next week.

It took long enough, but Niitris has finally regain the energy to CS. Since I'm re-organized the pcx folder (which was a pain), doing the separations is more orderly.

Anyway, I'm doing 3 simple separations as of now (details on top of thread). And have made good progress in what, only 2 days worth of work. Idk if it's worth making a palette sheet yet for anyone to make palettes (I guess I might as well), but I have a better idea of where I want to go with my projects.

I've also been playing MI2 lately (because I finally got PCSX2 to work on my CPU although it's slow as molasses). I have some gameplay ideas I want to use from that (mainly Sabaki and Wall Stagger combos) that will require spriting, so I'll probably be posting sprites soon.

Template up for anyone who wants to make palettes.

Now onto getting data so I can can revamp the coding.

Well, now that I know to prepare the sff first insted of doing the dirty work immediatly, Color separations are going much more smoothly (especially since I can plan around how many sprites would have to be finished and stuff.

Well, I've started on Yuri's sff, it's anywhere around 400-450 sprites.
Mai's sff is somewhere around 500 (I've actually done about half of it, it's just a matter of scanning through what I've done).
Same for Ryo but his amount of sprites isn't as high.
Finally, I'm doing a sprite sheet edit go give '99 Athena long hair.

Yes, I'm back in business and it feels good. Too bad I can't make as much progress as I'd like because school and work and stuff.

I really don't post updates often enough.

Anyway, I'm halfway finished with both the Athena sprite edit and the Yuri Color Seperation (which will be featured on Koopa's conversion of the latter). If I'm diligent (which won't happen) I can finish in say, two weeks.

I have an idea of what I'll do next, but nothing's definitive at this point.

Nice, that Yuri separation is looking good! Keep em up!.

Oh wow, I'm still into mugen.

I've finally found the motivation to continue, determined to finish now. Re-examined Yuri's sff (all 485 sprites) and have made decent progress on all sprites (finished half) so it won't be too much longer. Will put up a template later, too much irl stuff I have to do at the moment.

I've postponed a lot of wips, some of which will inevitably be cancelled. Also working on something else so this is the only cs thing i'm doing now.

With Yuri's separation done (and rl stuff getting better), on to the next project. Oh, palette sheet I guess.

Considering doing sff patches for already done conversions and giving them separated sprites because why not? Not a guarantee though.

I'm terribly sorry for the long overdue reply.
I haven't quite finalized anything yet since I want to check what separations are already done so I don't end up doing repeat work. I'll know sometime at the end of the week.

Yay, almost done with Geese's CS.

I only have to do the belt separation now (the most frustrating part). Got half the sprite pack done there. All other separations have been applied to every sprite. After that it's just applying the new sprites to the SFF. Should only take a few days if things fall the right way.

After this I'm doing multiple CS projects at once, now that I have a definitive process where I can just run on autopilot.

nice always wanted to try separating him but the hair kept frustating me
keep it up

Fortunately I didn't have to do the hair, it was already separated. :P

And yeah the sprites can be pretty agitating but I guess that's to be expected.

Seeing that this Geese CS is almost done pleases me. Excellent stuff :D

Thanks.
And I'm done with the separation, yes. :)

All I have to do now is place the sprites in the sff. Before I release the sff patch though I'd like to accompany it with some palettes, so here's a sheet.

Now ready to say that I'm working on Heavy D and Shermie next (seeing the CvS separation of the latter made me want to CS her KoF sprites). I'm preparing for the amount of sprites right now. Also planning for two others to be announced later.

Nice i was thinking of separating Shermie's SNK sprites some point in the future good to see my separation inspired someone else.

Did a basic palette for the moment

Thanks guys, wish I made a better palette sheet though. I'll have one with effects and that good stuff by tomorrow.

So I've gotten Shermie's sff ready and I scaled back on some of the colors. Instead of using 64 it's a now more modest 47. I thought separating some parts either looked tacky imo or were unnecessary (5 colors for a 3-4 pixel hairband, really). I'm leaving the leg separation though because I know people would want that in at least so yeah.

Yeah I could finish faster and whatnot, but I want other people's thoughts on this. Is there anything I should add before going to the mass CS process? Not that I have many (and I feel they could be better tbh), but I really want this to be my best work yet.

Oh, good thing I didnt made more palettes with that template then, lol

That Shermie separation looks great but imo the upper neck cover can be separated to reach a middle ground of around 51 tones overall. That CS is looking great though, love the sleeve separation cause it looks so clean :D

I cannot wait to make palettes for this. I think it looks alright though. Maybe CS here hands to make gloves, or add stripes on her skirt in order to make it look like k6666orochi's Goenitz Shermie, if you want.

CSing the neck cover seems fine. Can't say I approve of separating the hands but I guess it's a big enough part of the sprite where it will be worth it kinda.

Here's an improved palette sheet, only one thing stopping me from releasing the sprite set itself. Sff edit is nearly done, should finish in the next couple days.
