Talk about new original Characters, Mini Games, etc that doesn't have a thread on its own. Random SF talk, This is pretty much the random project talk thread. Talk about anything here without worrying about someone saying you're of goal.


This could be attended in a future; what about a minigame? As in "A vs X-men" or "X-Men: 2nd Coming" with those awesome minigames.

As is SF, we could stick to:

- DOLL Squad---Boss: Killer Bee? Decapre? Juni-Juli TAG?
- Twelve Army---Boss: Twelve
- Final Fight---Some thughs from their games, redone to fit---Boss: Rolento?

Let's speak and decide one of these options!

I think it's WAY too early to be thinking about these. But meh, part of the fun of this project seems to be the far future things we'll probably never see so why not!

I really REALLY loved the dramatic battle mode against Bison on SFA1. I'd probably want to crank the ai up to god levels and have mini games such as this with the various SF bosses.

Obviously a break the car game.

I think the mini game in A vs XM was weird.
Did not feel right in mugen.

What about the car and a final fight bonus, but as a final one of the characters who don't appear as a regular haracter in the SF series? Like a powered Father Andore or Slash, or one from the second or third game :)

I'm a long time fan of mugen, marvel series and street fighter.

hey dude feLo llop  a fan of your cvs and other SF sprite conversions

I have been a fan of N64Mario works like his  G13 z-gouki, SF Special operations by ilu and works of emo and fido full game.. and versus stuff from mugen.

I have read the project and its awesome.

But i have no coding skills to do some stuff when Mvc3 is in the works i have compiled ideas of bonus games before.

I think if we wanna be more organized, We should make a List of characters that going to be revamp for this project.

There should atleast be a Showcase of sprites on what we should go for and a Few original character Ideas " like STIGYA ;D"

I was considering making a thread where we gather all the resources that have already been converted. Either CVS style or CSed or both. We don't want to focus on revamping any completed sheets unless that's all that user wants to contribute because there are a lot of new sprites to be made and fully rendered characters too.

We have to keep the scope manageable. We can't jump in saying we will convert every character to CVS style or whatever. We can say we hope to do so in the future after practically everything is done or if/when the project gets a much larger team.

Unless you just mean which sprites need to be made? If so I guess a single thread could work for just the new animations the project requires. Though it seems to be working well enough in the character's specific threads for that too.

Even I love the idea of original characters, I think the priorities are the SF characters.

Got 3 ideas of newcomers:

- Nephtys: she was once known as Stigya. Those days are far, far away, when she was alive. She died in the final stages of the Illuminati training, fighting to be the Empress. But Gill threw her to the Stix and then, she died. Some years after this event, an ancient Egyptian Goddess came to her with a mission....  Stigya was urien's fiancée. Her death was the trigger for his mental instability, leading Gill to the throne.

- R': let's remember that Rose was once Dictator's pupil and second in hand of Shadaloo.

- Pandora: what can I say about her?

There are rejected designs that would look cool too: Teal Pyhton"(rejected C. Viper), King Cobra(rejected Rufus), etc.

Also, I got On/Off's permission to translate Lucy Fernandez into CvS if I want.

Uh ? The fandom-established "canon" (and Udon) say that Rose is the "good half" of Dictator's soul which he cast away to embrace Psycho Power, but she never was his pupil and she never was part of Shadaloo. SFZ3 shows that Dictator hid his soul in her body, but that's also not her being his pupil. That's actually a pretty decent idea. A single anything goes be as crazy out there as you wish with suggestions thread. Could help to keep things more organized if a thread is made that isn't of direct value it could be merged. Otherwise we may get buried in engineering threads.

This Pandora business... sure enough, it's a reference to SFxT, and that subtly referenced Ingrid in the comic that came with that game - but the black skin and glowing eyes have been seen before in another crossover series heavily featuring SF, namely in the shape of the "Shadow" characters in the Vs Marvel series: Charlie, Chun-Li and (in an ending) Jin Saotome - Shadaloo tech was heavily implied in their creating in what little original story those games had.
I can't help but try and find a way to find common groud between the Pandora transformations and the Shadows - the latter possibly being an artificial way to replicate the effects of the former, for example.
The Tekken cast isn't likely to ever deal with Pandora stuff again after SFxT, but for the SF folks it coul still be a plot point for the future - or alternate continuities that can be represented by the Marvel spin-offs or a fan project like this... just something to consider...

I know Rose is the "good half" of Dictator, that's canon. After reading Vasili's faq about this in particular, it seems she became his pupil after their master's decease. Maybe while wanting to be more and more powerful he introduced his good part at Rose, what could have her "conscious" again. Also, in that faq, there's a small thing that may be pointing out that Rose was the prototype of the DOLLs squad. Dictator just was aware he would have to program their minds to be fully loyal to Shadaloo.

Also, having an evil, psycho Rose who doesn't use the scarf would be pretty good too :3 !!


BUT YES! Priority are the 100% canon characters.

I'd say 5 per saga+main character of each(Ryu, Chunners, Alex)+Boss(Sagat, Dictator, Gill).

But there's spritesheets nearly for everyone. SFZ3 and SF3 has ALL their characters done and etc, so it's up for the coders. Also, I think this should be the most complete SF game :P.

That's why I'm waiting until the whole roster is decided. I could ask him now for the generic-always-there-chars but the updates could be a problem.

For Mini Games. I think the Mad Gear Fight would be cool. Perhaps having Belger as a final boss?
Mix the map, so it feels like you progress? Almost like BOR? if that is possible in Mugen that is. I remember the old Mad Gear mini game thingy.

I think I have a concept.


"Shadaloo Base Invasion"


Info:

> Standard Beat-em-up type mini-game
> You'll be assisting the good guys while breaching through Shadaloo's base. (Example: During the start-up of the mini-game, Charlie charges through the base, and you'll be following him, assisting him.)
> We can add fun references/cameos in the mini-game. (Sawada can be added in the background fighting the Bison troopers in the background.)


Game objective:

   The player goes through 5-7 "layers" of rooms in the Shadaloo Base, rescuing cameo Street Fighter characters about to/being turned into mind controlled slaves a la Bison Dolls. First room will have Bison troopers that you'll have to face. Retsu, Geki, Joe, Mike, and Lee will be in the next 5 rooms, wherein they're being brainwashed. Your selected character will fight them in order to proceed to the last room. You'll face the Shadaloo Cyborg in the last room. The Shadaloo Cyborg was being constructed in order to make the ultimate fighter by combining the different fighting styles of the 5 captured Street Fighters.

When you defeat the Shadaloo Cyborg, it'll try strike one last fatal blow to you. Sawada charges with his body slam super and dies, saving all of you. RIP Sawada

It won't get a story till there are enough characters to have one.

All mini game ideas should be posted anyway, they could be good bases.

On story, if we ever get enough characters going for one.

Do we:

A: Make up our own story for the game?

B: Try to be near canon (still have to tweak things to make a lot fit, THANKS OBAMA SF4)

C: Make up a story based on just each character. Like if you pick Ryu the story would follow him as if he's actually the one winning everything. The other 2 may have Joe beat Sagat in game but not actually beat him in story.

My idea for the story would be to have some dialogue before a boss fight and then a mini ending after each boss fight.
So after you beat Sagat in the SF1 tier you'd get a mini ending to advance the story into SFA or SF2

Long story format puts the game like this
fight some SF1 characters then Sagat
fight some SFA characters then Bison
fight some SF2 characters then Akuma
fight some SF4 characters then Seth
fight some SF3 characters then Gill

Short story format would omit the SFA section and Akuma as a boss. Leaving Bison the boss for SF2

If we make up our own story then I guess the order could be about anything.

About the SF story overall...Capcom screwed it LOTS of times and then saying that each SF saga happens in its own universe. We have two options:

1- Do as they say. Every SF happens in its own dimension. Because of the Final Boss all these merges in one, the characters' selves merges in ONE person, EXCEPT those who have an alternate version (ex: Killer Bee can't merge with Cammy because of the different "soul", same as evil shotos, Shadow, etc). This will also explain WHY there are dead characters here(Gen, Rose, Dictator, etc). Also, "Street Fighter: Dimensions" it's a catchy title :P

2- Following a common story and avoiding details as Dictator's death in SF2(hey! he can clone himself), so Dictator and Rose are alive in this realm game because of that. Gen is still alive even his leukhemia, and etc. Dictator we asskicked back in SFZ was his old self and entered Rose's body(this is canon EVERYWHEREEEE ). Cammy saving the DOLLS? Nope bitch!! She may been unconscious after his fight against Claw and left in the Britsih Embassy. This way, the DOLLS could have been kept in a Shadaloo facility(this would not go against SF4, though). Things like these.


Also, about minigames, I'd love to see the DOLL squad(without helping another character: imagine you pick Charlie...are you helping the other Charlie too?) and the final boss of this could be the Cyborg(I have an idea for constructing him in an "easy" way!!!) OR Shadaloo Rose(before SF1. It seems she was Dictator's pupil after her brainwash or whatever). She won't have the scarf or her SFZ design. Movements would have some differences, though.

About the mini-ending after defeating a boss sounds pretty cool too.

Okay I had to know about this whole "Rose being the disciple" thing so I googled up the Vasili guides.

And found scandal, drama, and someone that actually tried protecting his "copyright" over another game's canon LOL

I don't know how official Tiamat's guide was before SF4 came. It was pretty good even if he pulled some stuff from his backside.

This thread proves even more that these guides are more like Fanfics. That doesn't mean we cant be inspired to use anything from these guides. But I really don't see Rose being Bison's disciple. Not even Udon did that. I'd claim them more canon than these guide people.

If we go the "make the canon story" route we have to understand we'll make something that just has canon stuff in it. Because there isn't 1 true canon for all the games to fit into. So a lot will have to be fan made to fit by the community here.

A good mini-game could be a duel with a pre-scar Sagat.  You start the full screen away, he throws a maze of high and low Tiger Shots at you to get through, but if you jump at him he'll uppercut.  To win you get inside and knock him down with an EX move (not projectile).  To make it more of a challenge he's got faster tiger shot recovery than normal, or can activate A-groove to spam them faster if you're close, or gets to cancel his Tiger Shot recovery into a backdash if it lands.

The concept aint bad.

I'm also thinking how about either Mecha Zangief, Cyber Charlie, Shadow Lady? Or perhaps some sort of "Strenght Training" with Shadaloo Soldiers (Pays a homage to Blade and the other soldiers?) Like, Hey you gotta hurry up and save Captain Sawada by defeating the guards?

Even I love the Sagat thing, I still think that fighting against the DOLLs(except Juli, Juni, killer Bee and Decapre) & Shadaloo cyborg would be the best.

I think I remember it was about a schematic idea about how that could be handled, kinda like a loooong stage with random dolls appearing and attacking.
