well i am almost sure how`s going this to turn...also i will devote only to one project at a time ,and also not taking requests of any kind(spriting specially) but let me know...also think fast O__o real fast you got 2 days.

first takuma,shermie,ralf and clark.......now i want to be sure what to do next...i have barely began with k,want to know if you people are really hyped for this character ,and since this is not going to be an alternate sff i  want to know if this one is going to be coded (so my edits don`t go to waste)

with all said i still have 12 chaarcters from kof 98 that i would like to convert,and i guess after that i am retiring ,or if i get married first ,single by the moment(fuk that bitch) ,that is the only one reason i have done 4 characters one after another this year has gone easy on me..

I stopped, due to technical difficulties. I've handed over my working materials to Dampir for him to consider.

I think he'd do a fine job with those working materials.

i just completed one ikari team with clark (kof 96 ikari team) also  making mr big would complete the boss team from  kof 96
one interesting thing the K i have has 626 sprites to do,mr big has 327 more or less ,almost the same for eiji...even if these got to be done after they will be easy to convert,fast to convert

eiji will be next after K and also for the rest of the year there will be a saisyu convertion and mr big as well,for juli i have extended plans for her....i think i can do these before year`s end ,also depending on RL stuff....

Wait, the K' sprites should already be color separated? They're the ones from XIII that have had some colors removed to turn the shading into a very close facsimile of CvS?

still to early to say it is a solid progress , but more or less this is how it will look, i will have to unify the colours into one single blue ,this will boost the whole progress,it is hard to retouch and work with too many colours and too many stray pixels; basically i am cleaning/retouching at the same time and doing CS but in a more easy way....still 165 sprites o finish first step (orange and violet colours)

just placing properly the sprites of  "annoying sequence" will do the rest you can leave that way....the rest is good as it is...the faster i get that solved the faster i will continue ,this could be done this june or july

I had the same issue when I started working on Hwa Jai. I just found a completed character and ripped the sprites from that. I was able to easily reduce the frame count for his moves in the process by comparing him to CvS Joe Higashi.

 is pretty hard to leave a single frame with this character.....the thing is i already did all just the folder within the zipped file needs to be solved i organized all the sprites between saturday and today's morning but that only one sequence.....and the proper order of the animations is a key to properly retouch it , and i just wanted to have all sequences ready (also wanted you to share my pain aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa)

also i am getting familiar with the way of converting from kof XIII to my (whatever you call it some say it is cvs) style for a future i`ll probably be using other chars such as goro daimon ,shen ,maxima and even elizabeth for 2015 of course , the rest of this year i am full...
in the meantime :
i will use kof XI eiji sprites they look better than older graphics,probably i`ll mount those over vans version of eiji...

also i want to know(i probably can chek it but not now) wich sprite set is best for mr big.......

least but not last i`ll be doing a character poll just out of curiosity.....wait for it..

They look OK, but there are inconsistencies (at least in the samples you showed) - There are stray pixels of incorrect colors in some areas, you didn't recolor the shoes, a lot more focus is required on the details like the face / hands / outlines.

looked for a K' XI and i found many diferences between sprite sets...soo didn`t drop any frame yet ,sprite set remain the same,soo i moved to the next step 2 days ago the glasses...today(and in the next days) the face and hair; still if someone get the time to look at the set and suggest a proper frame droping,well that litle help is more than welcome...

some update;335 sprites done....left to do 286 ...no pics since is the blue what i am retouching,after that another round for details some of the chest the gloves maybe....and some final pixel cleaning applied to the whole set...

Very good work as always, I would recomend using the shading style of Rock Howards pants as reference for K's... jumpsuit? to give it a more leathery feel (if you aren't using that already). I like your proportions, this spriteset ig going to be teh definetive one for CVS K'! :D

umm haven`t considered yet , i mean makin some cash, from converting 3d to 2d i have see the sf4 chars out there , also saw these got a loooot of sprites,i could convert key frames instead a of full set ;someone paying for a sprite set i s also a great responsability ,this last thing opens up many questions for me, like  how is it done ,obviously there will be a pay method or a mutual agreement of terms etc ,for the moment i would like to know how it is done ; maybe a link to read some before iconsider anything..

Basically you show us a sample of the design. Give a price point. And once you get the funds you begin work.

You'll need a paypal account to receive the money.

I'd work on a number of sample animations to see if you feel you could finish a project like this, because yes: when you get other people's money involved it becomes a MAJOR responsibility.

As for the number of frames. The 3D models would definitely have a lot more frames. You'd want to choose the best ones to convert. By now you should have a descent idea how many frames most attacks you would find in SF4 would have in CVS2.

Number 2 looks like it gels more with other CVS characters thanks to the fewer skin colors. I guess ultimately you could use Option 1 and still have people create palettes to reflect CVS more closely anyway. Clothes in either are fine, maybe get rid of the lighter color on the belt.

glad to say there are 72 sprites left to do...hope to finish him without any kind of rush in a few days...after that as already stated i will convert mr  mrbig after that saisyu , still heavy d , brian battler , chris ,yashiro , kensou to convert ...maybe a break converting shen and elizabeth (kof xiii to cvs "inspired stile" of mine) this eiji took a month to do, more or less maybe the same amount of time for mr big and saisyu meaning that maybe for november i will make another poll , considedring also the winers of previous  polls i did before...thanks for all the suport and your coments

I think i will use multiple sources for a future mow_terry the main base willl be GM's terry also i'll edit any other move present in kof2k3 and kofXIII ........if there is someone willing to code him in a 6 buton layer i definytively will convert him; but after i finish juli(almost donea) retouch some sagat spprites and. Converting saisyu you may think is a lot of work but i am planing to have all for this year's end and then 2015 projects following the characterrd coonvertion agenda,defined by some polls ,i'll be opening pretty  sooon....staay tuned

Apparently he thinks Terry's CvS set isn't good...(IKR?) :-\ Along with Ryo's CvS set. IDK. Anyway... Only one I find appealing out of this poll is Kasumi. So, she's the only one that gets a vote from me. She has a few CvS sprites that were made for Todo's intro that could be used when converting. Also, I believe someone else wanted to make her as well. Forgot who, though maybe said user will see this and if she wins, be willing to help. W/e you decide to do though, good luck with it.

I personally would have liked to see terry's kof sprites done similar to how he redid andy's sprites the ones used by infinite and jesuzilla is all I meant when I suggested terry to begin with.  His cvs sprites werent terrible or anything but thats not the version dampir chose to add to the poll so its no big deal kensuo or daimon hopefully will win out.

With that said, even though I like Heavy D! and Brian Battler, I don't really see much fun right now in converting one, nor do I see much demand for them. However, I've always wanted to make a MoW Terry in CvS2 style so my vote goes there.

You could use Vans's old Terry for the sprites. It even has edits for Rising Tackle (though I think one frame is missing but you can fix that).

MoW is kinda closer to CvS2 proportions though, and I do recall @Balthazar: made Rising Tackle sprites for MoW Terry.

The reason MoW has a higher frame count is that it's more animated, not necessarily that it has more moves. With that said, you might want to smartly cut frames

My suggestion was going to be "Use KOF set with less sprites, but sprite it with MOTW head, because the KOF head is HORRIBLE" but if you're going MOTW all the way, that's pretty great.

Also, what JZ said, cut some frames here and there.

don`t get the wrong idea with this i am just taking a step forward making this sprite set(just re-escaled and doing some tricks with the pals, not retouched or anything more) so when the time comes(after sagat and saisyu) he will be next ,and i will have all what's required to make this one a reallity still need to chek kof xiii to see if there are any stuff i could use...

I can't look at the individual sprites right now to see exactly what you've done, but from what I remember when considering converting Mark of the Wolves Terry is that the main thing you need to do is upscale the sprites by 10% (x and y scale equally) and then enlarge the head and maybe the hands a bit to match classic Terry. From there you just need to touch up the blocky pixels and cut down on the intense folds and shading in his pants. The jacket hair and skin can remain pretty much untouched unless you want to add a fourth shade to the jacket/shoes. That fourth shade will put you over your 15 color limit, but it will also allow you to get rid of those blue lines in your shoes and enable you to give the jacket anti aliasing if you want to go that route.

I'd say, just add a gradient colour between lightest and the next one. It seems you just replaced Colour#2 making it Colour#1(lightest) both in jacket and trousers. Also, leg under kneeshould not be THAT lighty...just erase them(kinda as denim is) with just small lines of Colour#2 and one pixel of Colour#1. Just take(as reference) CvSterry's trousers. You see no folders here and there, try to mimic that. Same for gloves.

Aside that, it's an awesome work.

Looks pretty good. Follow Felo and Drex's advice, I'm sure what they're telling you is the right thing.
Also, just make the pants shading similar to CvS2 Terry's. Same goes for hands. And I think a few extra colors wouldn't hurt in a few places. But that's up to you my friend..

I have a suggestion if you are accepting them, I think he could use some darker shading
On shins on his jeans like cvs2 terry has.  Im sure it would look better and more
Like Cvs2 graphis. And something else too,  on cvs2 terry,  he has 3 different shades on his
Thigh area and motw terry has 2.  To me, it stands out and I noticed it was different. I think  If you
Could change these things it would look closer to a character made for cvs2 and extremely epic.

Either way im looking foward to this sprite set, a terry based on his motw move list with hi res fx would

The jacket needs more antialiasing and better shading. The pants especially need antialiasing. Proportions are looking fine, though.

Looks OK but something about the palette bothers me. Specifically, the jacket. I'll see if I can come up with something, if the image is indexed.

Uses actual colors from 2 of Terry's palettes from CvS2. I noticed some colors didn't change, but I assume you made the palette planning separation in advance, so with that said, the hair color is more than likely going to change.

Simplified the shading near the top to get it closer to how CvS does Terry's jeans, which doesn't really show the folds as much as the KoF sprites.

i`ll focus on terry right after i finish saisyu(around early or late december),; the thing i wanted to have ready was the sff for the versin of terry that  i will be using......at the sametime i'll be retouching sagat(chek this section of sprites projects) , soo  the big idea is to make both saisyu and sagat within this year...

Look at Benimaru's Face, at Kyo's, Ken, Ryu, Ryo ... all of them use VERY LITTLE lightest skin shade on the face. Do something similar to that. The face is killing your characters.

I tried to edit your sprite to show you what I mean, hope you don't mind.
It's just minor edits on his face, abs and pecs.

The problem isn't the colors, I think. If you only changed the face a little bit ... obscure it more, so it looks like KOF characters in CVS.

I personally think that the colors do attribute to how it looks, so I changed the skin tones as well to make it more obvious.
My edit is just a quick one, so it's probably not good either.
But I hope this help you better understand what I am trying to say. :)

just changed the topic's title nothing of terry yet....but i can perfectly announce i`ll be  making its convertion in a few days, but before that i will take a hand on leona xiii's sprites just a resize of the set to have it ready when terry's finished...also i'll do some more edits for sagat,well gotta also say i am closed to any request, unless it does really really get my interest,last but not least i am taking care of some RL....don't take it the wrong way , i'll be cheking as usual on the forum....

by the way i may be converting (mow)terry to make an alternatte sff for terry bogard by memo,also i am planing on taking on the rest of usefull sprites of other versions(FF series, Kof's Series Mow series.....)ane make one big set of sprites for this character....

P.S: When you were spriting K` in his XIII sprites to your CvS Style, did you do all the frames or did you cut out unwanted frames?

for me the unwanted sprites should be the special effects.....in XIII's sfx does not need any retouch, left the rest untouched

the proccess; you need :

fighter factory
graphic gale
1_extract all the sprites  if you are using a char that already exist in bmp format
2_delete all the special effects you don't need or want
3_insert all the sprites with fighter factory
4_edit the palete; leave the colours you'll be using,save the pall...open that pal and save  all again  in bmp format.
5_use graphic gale tool for batch convertion
6_reduce the size(look for the specify size option) to a 53%  and there you got it....
and of course
7_edit frame by frame...i use idraw most of the time....

Out of curiosity Alex is it because of dampirs lack of use of the mid tone colors? I recall that he treats midtones in a similar way to AA (K' XIII for example).

Don't forget to reserve a spot for Jesuszilla's CvS XIII Kyo (coming to a hood near you) :laugh:

Oh. Sprites look good dampir. But you need to add more midtones. Not in your usual style, but also paint with a few midtones, to give him a different look.
Take a look at Alex Sinigaglia's CvS MoTW Terry:

You can really apply a lot of things from this sprites, especially concerning the pants and jacket, because they really won't look good if you apply your usual midtones (as you do in your conversions; believe me I studied them :)). Just my two cents.

He still needs to add the midtones on the upper parts of Terry's pants if he wants to achieve a near CvS look, as well as the jacket. Also, the metal part is blending into the T-shirt's colors. You need to change the palette at least... and don't forget the midtones, man. :laugh:
If he doesn't want to add those, I'd be willing to do it, however....

Oh man Memo's gonna have some fun with this one after all the sprites are done XD.


I recall Jesuszilla saying he wants to make a CvS2 styled Terry with these sprites. Unless you mean that Memo will integrate these sprites into his Terry's SFF?

well, Considering Memo's Terry is supposedly going to have 2 modes it can be a good thought to have 2 different sprite sets, one set for each mode. Both can share the palette if done correctly.

i'll probably make an alternatte sff , i'll do that once i finish this set , since there are diferent animations in both versions, i'll have my vacations right now ..worry not i really get bored if i am not doing something (RL stuff or mugen), soo have a nice xmas....

Voted Daimon, Yahsiro, and Another fighting series. I would say do some Last Blade or Samurai Shodown conversions. Maybe do some Power Instinct, Darkstalkers, Marvel vs Capcom (Capcom characters of course), or Rage of The Dragons to CvS style, to change it up a little bit.
