I'd have to see if there's an equivalent for Kawaks, but I just found something for the MAME version (Euro 940520) that could make getting those sprites easier for you:

Access Character Test From the F2 Test Menu" and "Hide/Show Text to the Character Test" are the only cheats in the file that I made.
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty
To use:
Press F2 to go to the test menu, then turn on the cheat. The screen will change to the character test screen. If you're unable to access the cheat option, check "You may not have access to the cheat option when you press Tab. Maybe this can help." in this thread. The buttons:
P1 Coin: Affects the text and BG. Had I known about this, I wouldn't have searched for a cheat to hide the text. :p
2P Start: Changes the background color two ways: Holding it causes gradual changes in color, tapping it causes sudden changes.
Hold P1 Button 2 and press either Up or Down: Changes what sprite set you want to look at. Use this to find Lynn's sprites. To get to Lynn, press up 12 to 16 times.
1P Up or Down: Changes what sprite set you want to look at. Use this to go through all of Lynn's animations.
1P Left or Right: Changes what direction the sprite's facing.
3P Up or Down: Flips the sprite up or down.
3P Button 3: Changes the palette the sprite's using. This is useful for portraits, and BG things.
Hold P1 Button 1: Quickly goes through the frames to an animation.
P1 Button 2: Resets animation to first frame.
P1 Button 3: Cycle frame by frame through an animation.
There may be more things that it can do, but that's what I found playing around with it. Also, it's possible there's some functions to this that're unusable. I say this because of the multiple Nage Tests I found that had varying degrees of functionality.
Edit: Here it is for Kawaks (my code's at the bottom :p):

Edit2:This is for the US version (940520) for Kawaks:

It can do more in Kawaks, it seems. Interesting.

Could this method be used for the Predator Sprites as well?? There are plenty of sprite sheets out there, but they all are missing a few nuances, like the wall jump and whatnot.
Very cool though. Thanks for sharing!! ;D

BTW, the Mad Predator won't have the correct colors at first. Use 3P Button 3 to fix that (press it 4 times).
