You can put by what Director and writer if you want. Actor as main character is an option also but a simple list is fine of course. It would be interesting to see who would like to see what game come to the big screen live action.
1) Fallout Directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9) & Ridley Scott (Writer)
2) Borderlands by Neill Blomkamp (District 9)
3) Castlevania done by Len Wiseman (Underworld movies) & Guillermo del Toro (for Creature FX)
4) BioShock directed by Guillermo del Toro
5) Dead space Directed By Paul W.S. Anderson (Event Horizon) & Robert Rodrigez
6) Prototype By Paul W.S. Anderson
7) Skyrim By Peter Jackson
8.) Dead Rising by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland)
9) Mortal Kombat by Gareth Evans (Raid 2)
10) Devil May Cry directed by Guillermo del Toro & produced by Paul W.S. Anderson
11) Metroid by James Cameron or Guillermo del Toro
12) Metal Gear Directed by Tony Gilroy (The Bourne legacy) & Christopher Nolan (Writer)
13) Ninja Gaiden directed by Gareth Evans & Produced by James McTeigue (Matrix /V for Vendetta)
14) Spy Hunter by Michael Bay
15) Grand Theft Auto By quentin tarantino & Todd Phillips (The Hang over)
I believe certain directors and certain teams of directors and writers are fit for those movies to seriously rock
So what are your video game to movie wishes?

No Half Life love?? The series is so rich you could easily get three or so films out of it. I'd love to see Half Life 2's City 17 get some Neil Blomkamp love. Proof of how awesome this would be is the Exoskeleton from District 9 and it's similarities to Dog. Bullet catching and Pig launching also screams inspiration from the Gravity Gun.
No Super Metroid love either. :grrr: That would be amazing if done right.
-
What about me? What about Tetsuo?
Starfox 64 by James Gunn

lol I mentioned Metroid in my very first post to start thread ;) That movie was supposed to been had came out years back but they scrapped it.
Half life ? hell yeah man. I forgot to mention that one. Loved part 2 but that game alone should have been gotten a movie. That District 9 movie when i first saw it smelled of Half life all over it from the weapons haha. I love that directors vision.
What about me? What about Tetsuo?
Starfox 64 by James Gunn
Yeah id get the guys who did Guardians of the Galaxy do Star Fox. That would be a fun ass movie to go see i think
Killer 7 in your past post would be cool too but id definitely get one of those Asian Directors to do it. Just dont know who though.

lol I mentioned Metroid in my very first post to start thread ;) That movie was supposed to been had came out years back but they scrapped it.
My eyes scrolled a bit too quick there. I was looking for Super and didn't pay attention to Metroid. Glad to see we're on the same page. The film could focus on her bounty hunting endeavors prior to the whole Zebes and SR388 fiasco. Too bad Sigourney Weaver isn't younger since she'd be perfect for the role. As seen by this teeny tiny image below (couldn't find any better ones):
Resemblance is there.
Or Metroid could be done as a Stop Motion short, very similar to Wallace and Grommit's style that still holds up well, along with a Monty Python like narrative and Benny Hill music!! Like this:
I suddenly want to watch The Wrong Trousers.

Yeah Sigourney would have been kick ass for it in her younger years. At the time way back reading through EGM the buzz was to get James Cameron to do the film or and cast the Terminator chick that was in T3. But then poof....It just never happened. But There's a couple of female i think could fit that role. Depending on the director and writers. Stop motion would be cool. I'd love to see that shit in full CGI like the Final fantasy Advent Children and others like it.

Burnout by Michael Bay.
Sorry, just that I NEED to see that happen.
-
Papers, Please? thats a video game?
It's more game than your mom was last night.
Seriously though, I was just trying to think of a video game movie Wes Anderson would direct, and PP seemed like a fit since it focuses on confined spaces with a limited color palette, is set in a fictional European-esque country, and has a very deadpan style of humor, all things that Wes excels at.
-
Burnout by Michael Bay.
Sorry, just that I NEED to see that happen.
Oh man, I was gonna say Gears of War but that's a way better choice. Just slow motion, cars and explosions! It'd be Bad Boys on steroids!
-

My mom has been dead and gone for years now so i dont get that comment^^
-

Don't forget Megan Fox.
-

Exactly. Because that's pretty much what Bad Boys II was. And such a shame because the first one was such a damned awesome movie and showed that Bay could actually direct something worthwhile.
-
Dynamite Deka by John McTier- Wait...
-
Bomberman: Act Zero by Michael Bay :P
But seriously:
Siren by Takashi Shimizu
Harvester by David Lynch
Timesplitters by Terry Gilliam
-
Final fight the movie by who knows
Dead rising the movie with Bruce Willis as Brock and with Samuel Jackson as Brad
-
The Evil Within
-
Metal Gear Rising
-
The Evil Within
This would work if Guillermo del Toro is directing (don't watch a lot of horror movies, so IDK)
Metal Gear Rising
Fuck yeah.
-
The Evil Within
This would work if Guillermo del Toro is directing (don't watch a lot of horror movies, so IDK)
Hell yeah man i think he would be great for that flick. Plus it would be gory as hell (I love horror movies). Knowing him and how he is he would keep it visually exactly how the game was. I love his vision as a director
Another Game id like to see on the big screen in Rated R is:
MANHUNT (by Rockstar games)....
The director could be Marcus Dunstan. He directed 2009 Horror thriller flick "The collector"
-
1.Comix Zone
2.Segare Ijjiri
3.Dynamite Headdy
4.Fantasy Zone
5.Super Mario Galaxy
6.Street Fighter 3 NG and EX
7.Pac-Man World Rally
8.Hotel Mario
9.Battletoads and Double Dragon
10.Wario World
11.Dr. Mario 64
12.Rakuga Kids
13.Kirby 64
14.Sega Sonic the Hedgehog
15.Shaq Fu
They would make pretty funny movies, I guess.
-
I fully agree with what Shwa said. I wouldn't mind seeing Bayrnout happening.
ALSO:
Altered Beast by Guillermo del Toro
RAD: Robot Alchemic Drive by Guillermo del Toro
Dark Souls by Peter Jackson
Splatterhouse by either Guillermo del Toro or Sam Raimi
-
Legend of Zelda by any one of these directors:
Peter Jackson
George Lucas
Steven Spielberg
-
Borderlands
-
Borderlands
Yeah the director of District 9 (and Elysium) i think would be great for that one because of all those crazy weapons and robots
-
Streets of Rage - directed by Isaac Florentine.
starring Scott Adkins as Alex, Michael Jai White as Adam and Samantha Jo as Blaze.
Basically have them rebuild a huge chunk of a city in a studio lot and have the kick the crap out of a zillion henchman.
Needs banter, long shots for the fightscenes and an R rating (and none of that CGI blood squirt squid garbage)
Metal Slug - by uuuh I dunno.
Basically, the new Mad Max Fury Road trailer but with tanks, lots of guns and some well-excecuted physical comedy thrown in.
Resident Evil - well why not have someone talented direct it for a change.
Sadly Paul W.S. Anderson's movies are making pretty good profits and somehow he gets to keep making more of them.
The only good thing I can see in the next one is that it's called 'The Final Chapter' (though that didn't mean shit for the Friday The 13th series, which's part 4 had the same subtitle). If any property of anything ever needed a 'gritty reboot', it's this stinking junkheap of series of movies!
Megaman - by Pixar.
That's right, a CGI movie, not live-action, because some things just shouldn't be made in live-action!
If it's a hit (and why the heck shouldn't it be), they can follow-up with Megaman 2 and sister company could develop Megaman X for all the gritty fans, they could have both series running side-by-side like was the case with the games.
Street Fighter: The World Warrior - by Joey Ansah & co
Oh wait we are already getting that, very very good, moving on!
ps. I think we should continue like this, adding at least 2 or 3 lines of text/explanation and what/why/who,
instead of spewing out any random game name that comes to your busy mind :P
-
MANHUNT (by Rockstar games)....
OMG, yes!!! but it should be directed by Christopher Nolan, and written by Vince Gilligan since he's very good in writing bad guys.
it would be also great if they made the film look like a compilation of footage from security cameras, not for realism but to give it the snuff movie feel that the games had.
of course it has to be an R rated with killing scenes more brutal than "A Serbian film" and Friday the 13 series combined.
-
Golden Sun by whoever is good enough or Metal Slug by Michael Bay maybe Along with Devil May Cry or Grand Theft Auto TV series
