So Ive had a discussion with a forum member.
Today I try to send a message to this person and it will not send.
I've tried a number of different ways. Anyone know what could be the problem?
-
Maybe that person ignores you.
For example: When you set somebody in ignore list in your settings that person will not be able to post you the private messages...
-
If they are not contributor their inbox may be full.
If they have really strange characters in their username it can make it impossible to send a message.
-
Can banned members still send/receive messages? If not, that could be it, too.
-
It might be possible that banned members can send/receive PMs if their posting privileges are all that were locked. I remember ZeroZ abusing the report section even while he was banned, so that's a thing.
-
Wouldn't reports work off a different functionality than PMs though?
-
Yes, but neither of them are technically posting, which is why I brought it up. Posting privileges can be removed, login privileges can be removed, etc.
-
wasn't me was it?
-
No SlenderMan, it's Curious1. I dont think he fits any of the problems. Except contributor. I'm not looking at his profile right now.
It kept saying the message I was trying to send couldnt be sent because the quote didnt belong to me?? I wasnt quoting anything. It was just a basic message.

He was banned for being an hjk alt.
-
lol ok.
Sorry about the needless PM Xan.
-
Yeah it'd be really great if the PM system would tell the user why it couldn't send the pm. "This user is banned" "This user's inbox is full" etc
-
it should come to no surprise but if you are getting pms from someone that has no posts at all , its very likely its someone banned who is trying to harass you, you should delete them and avoid replying, the attention just encourages the weird people. Like little children.
