In the search menu, there's an option to check all (even though everything is checked by default) but there's no option to uncheck everything.

Could whoever does these things add a feature like that? Or atleast have everything unchecked by default?

Uncheck "check all" to uncheck everything, and again to check them all. That's the whole point of the option, since as you say, everything is already checked by default.
