I think this is what happened. (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=psn)
I accessed it earlier today, I even bought a game
I'm missing my exotic upgrades from Xur!
well you can't really stop a ddos attack from happening. Even Anonymous got involved in trying to take down Lizard Squad, which is funny since they ddosed PSN before.

Mess with our Online gaming, and we will slap your shit
Also the FBI and Interpol got the address of all members of Lizard squad thx to another hack group who counterattacked them
Not expecting PSN to be back for a while. If PSN gets crippled this badly on a DDOS attack, it really shows Sony doesn't even have a proper Plan B for this situation.

What would you expect from a company that stored credit card information from their users in a plain text file?

Yea, I know that. I meant, having a plan to get stuff back online quickly.well you can't really stop a ddos attack from happening. Even Anonymous got involved in trying to take down Lizard Squad, which is funny since they ddosed PSN before.

Is this actually happening? I find it odd that Anonymous would get involved in this.

Exactly. Shit like this is why I haven't bought a PS4 or Vita. Sony's losing me lol. Probably gonna stay pure PC/Wii U this gen.
Same here. I've had Sony in my life since PS1 but the system just costs way too much and SF5 is the only game I know of that I'd want on it and one game isn't enough to spend that kind of money.
I'll really just get the PS4 once FFXV and KH3 comes along. It's pretty much dead to me right now.

"This generation" is gong to last anywhere between 5 and 10 years, not just a year or two. Are you saying there won't be any game you'll buy on the new consoles for all that time, even counting those not yet announced - or even thought of ? Or that the price tag won't go down ?
PC and WiiU is more than enough this gen.

Probably that he's not willing to invest in either console as it stands because of their poor design and many screwups.

Last gen's systems still generate a profit so they're still kind of expensive.
Hell I still want a PS3 if only for Blazblue, Guilty Gear, Metal Gear Solid 4 and the HD collection, but at the same time I want a 360 because folks I know use that for online.
Decisions, decisions
7 years after a console release is quite some time to release a PC port (MGS4 came out in 2008).didn't stop valkyria chronicles

Aren't PC releases still very rare and limited to the AAA games ?

Also shit, I forgot Sonic games from the Genesis era still get ported
There was one question on the mind of every gamer this Christmas: Why? Why would anyone ruin Christmas by taking down these gaming networks? The simplest explanation, Lizard Squad told me, was that they did it for the lulz. The hackers also said they wanted to exploit the “incompetence” of Microsoft and Sony, and to prove that anyone who promised to stop them was a liar.
“Microsoft and Sony are fucking retarded, literally monkeys behind computers,” Omari said. “They would have better luck if they actually hired someone who knew what they were doing. Like, if they went around prisons and hired people who were convicted for stuff like this, they would have a better chance at preventing attacks.”
“If I was working [at Microsoft or Sony] and had a big enough budget, I could totally stop these attacks,” Cleary claimed. “I’d buy more bandwidth, some specific equipment, and configure it correctly. It’s just about programming skill. With an attack of this scale, it could go up to the millions. But that’s really no problem for Sony and Microsoft.”
Aren't PC releases still very rare and limited to the AAA games ?nope, it's just that people only make noise about the AAA ones, also nintendo's games while not getting to pc, run on udnerpowered consoles so you know what that means.
They're not wrong as far as Sony's concerned. Sony are incompetent as fuck when it comes to this stuff. Ultimately what these DDOs prove is that online gaming services should NOT be "premium" paid services.
