Title: GK's Art Stuff (Commissions Paused)
Post by: Sir Ghostler on March 13, 2015, 12:21:12 pm
My art thread. Here I'll post some stuff from time to time (mostly pixel work). All feedback is 100% welcomed.

Completed Works (In order from oldest to newest)
CPS2 Sprites and Animations

Commissions
I'm going to start taking commissions as I believe my skill level (with HD sprites at least) is high enough to be worth paying for.
CPS2/LR sprites are 4 USD each.
UNIEL/DBFC/HD sprites are 10 USD each.
Prices can change depending on the complexity of the sprite. PM me for more info.

I should have thought about using SNK Ryu when making a DBFC version of him... oh well, too late for that. :D

I like what you did with Punisher, man. Keep it up. ;)

Looks fantastic!
You need to fix the axis though, his body shifts up when the animation starts.

Needs a few adjustments but I wanted to share it for now. Also, screw the flames. They are so hard to get right.

Dude, go make a deviantART, this stuff is amazing. You're a natural at this, and I'm not exaggerating at all when I say this.

Keep up the good work, Ghostu! ;)

EDIT: Before I forget, @KaiserHero: Come check out your sprite request ;)

Glad you like my DBFC sprites. :) I gotta add some fixes to them later on though, especially Scathach, it turns out I made her way too short, lol.

Youzentai WIP animation for Akira. Sketch needs a ton of cleaning and adjustments (especially with the proportions) plus some more frames but it's a start I guess.

Good to hear. Speaking of Akira. You might follow the PxZ one as a sample too. I did try to follow one of Akira's move like Hekisho & Yoshi Saiken as of PxZ + a cheap KO animation like these:

Akira:

*Hekisho:

Shizuo (3C & 66B or 6B): http://mugenguild.com/forum/msg.2174451

Hmmm, I might check out what he has in PxZ later on. Atm, I just want to focus on getting some more VF5 moves sprited in. I'll see what I can do with these other anims you made.

Thanks.

DBFC/UNIB Nrvnqsr Chaos.

Left version is more accurate to the original Melty Blood sprites while the right is more accurate to his MBAA artwork. All drawn and filled in completely from scratch.

Hmm, I wondered why I didn't get a tag notification? Oh well

I like, it looks great. I'd say maybe raise the lower body up by a sinch, I feel that the torso is a bit long. Unless if that's how it was with the character, then disregard.

Since you want feedback for the face, why not maybe move the most visible eye to the right (viewer side) by a bit? Other than that, it looks fine, IMHO.

Your Nrvnqsr Chaos looks great, love that you tried to do it from scratch, and you got yourself a marvellous result! Can't wait to see how the above artwork will turn out. :hat:

The notifications are weird then. :S

I'll apply your feedback to the sprite. Looking at the left (viewers left) eye again now, I think it might need to be moved upwards a few pixels too? I'll experiment with it.

Thanks! I really appreciate your feedback! I should be able to get this done in a couple of days if everything goes well. Glad you like my N. Chaos sprite too. :)

Ye, I was gonna enlarge it while finishing the lines for it. I should be able to make it look good (hands are a pain for me to sprite) when the portrait is done.  Thanks for pointing it out! :)

Omg, this too me way too long. I got really burned out on this, so I'll be coming back to it at some point to add in some extra details and shadowing. I based the pose on a figure of her.

Looks good so far, only issues I see appear to be stylistic.

Just curious. What other styles can you do besides MVC and HD sprites?
Title: Re: GK's Art Stuff (Commissions Open)
Post by: Sir Ghostler on July 24, 2016, 02:17:11 am
I can do CvS and Melty Blood are styles too. I'm also open to trying out new HR/HD and LR styles as well, though I'd charge less.

What's LR?

Do you happen to also do old school 90's style like the Sailormoon arcade or Ninjawarriors?
Title: Re: GK's Art Stuff (Commissions Open)
Post by: Sir Ghostler on July 24, 2016, 09:14:38 am
I meant low-resolution.

I haven't tried any of the 90's styles but I can certainly give them a shot. I should be able to quickly adapt to and learn them. Since I'd be unfamiliar with those styles in that aspect, I'd charge less for the commission, as I said before.

(Minor IMO detail) Don´t you think the Jedi´s left hand looks a bit too square in shape and lighting? The rest looks great by that hand looks a bit off IMO

At the time of spriting it, I was pretty satisfied with the left hand. I see what you mean though. I'll be coming back to that commission later on to add more to it, so I'll adjust it accordingly. Thanks for the compliment.

And yeah, they certainly are, lol.
