Guys, it's time. Capcom vs. Snk: Mugen Edition is ready, for Mugen 1.0 and 1.1, made by me and OldGamer! The screenpack is complete, containing Intro and an optional Ending for anyone who likes to customize their Mugen as a real game.

I believe that this screenpack is the dream of many, who like me, always wanted to see something really different, different from the various versions that try to recreate CVS2, this one, focuses on CVS1 with a mixture of new elements, and also, a history to merge the CVS universe completely into Mugen.

These were exhausting days of hard work, because we were careful to rip images and sounds from their original sources, many of which were never made for Mugen, and of course, pixel art work. Me and OldGamer wanted to bring something of quality to everyone, and here it is, I hope everyone likes it!

PS: There is a New Addition Included inside the screen pack with a New Mugen Character and  the mugen stage "Akito's Tower" By OldGamer.. A small tip: É NOIS!

Update (05/22): I changed (again) little things in screenpack, and now, I'm satisfied with result. Maybe I make a new idea for Menu Screen in futuire. Maybe. I have other projects now. And Akito updated (again) by RagingRowen (thanks man!) included in screenpack too. The both versions of screenpack are updated, the 1.0 and 1.1.

Everyone please take this patch for the screen pack
This Patch for the Fight.def for the player 2 turn mode from not flashing
this will fix the issue

Aight i tested the screenpack and its awsome,I would recommend changing the select theme but everything else is perfect.(i also like that dlc akito char,hehe)

xD thank man I glad you like it . also the theme select theme was from KOF Sky Stage shooting game so its a perfect fit :)

well Akito want a low res intro so I did what he asked me to do and changed the images to pcx format. that old school winmugen method. at first the Intro was pure clean and they were clean images because the images were in png format for the  mugen 1.1 and so when he ran the smooth Intro version on the his computer, its start to slow down and his screen pack keep on  freezing completely. So its turn out that his computer could not handle the png format for the mugen 1.1 and so I told him that the best way we can make your screen pack to run perfect Is by making the intro do the old ways of the winmugen format images with PCX format but it will have a lossy look and so he told me and said please OldGamer please make my screen pack to run faster, and so I did Wat he ask me to do  and I made sure the intro run perfect on his computer by down grade the look just for his computer to run the screen pack at 100% speed

Well done, Akito. It's great to see a dedicated screenpack for PotS Style characters and to see how much your creations evolved. Even though I'll miss the edits I did with the 2nd version M.I.C.A. screenpack (It's not much, just enough to differentiate from my main roster), it fits way more for that purpose and can hold a few more characters if I want to.

No feedback on the screenpack yet. But here's a little feedback on the Akito character that comes with it:
-Hitsparks are still multicolored even if set to 0 on the config.
-Hitsparks on Standing LK and MK are slightly misaligned.
-Crouching MP is missing a sprite frame.
-Crouching MK has no sliding sound fx.

Will edit if I find more. Oh, and sorry if I couldn't be any help since you PMed me about it. I just haven't worked with PotS style characters that much and I think someone else with more experience with those characters can do better than I could. I didn't want to disappoint you if I couldn't.

I wouldn't recommend arretoman, his chars are just FX Swaps, you still can see the leftovers of the original char

Any chance you guys could add a patch that uses the 32bit images for the intro? I'm pretty sure my cpu can handle it and I'd like test it.

oop I never made a backup xD so I have to redo the hole thing by ripping again and that take a lot time

Wow, how many posts! I'm glad that the vast majority of people have enjoyed the screenpack, some have come personally with me to congratulate me.

As many posts are, I will try to answer the most relevant comments:

- Akito in this version was edited by Falcon Rapper, then will still be put the Evil / Byoki mode with the correct corrections that must be made;

- The animation that appears before the select screen is of the type that has already been used in other screenpacks, however, I have not seen any that can "block" the cursor while the animation is happening. I'll ask OldGamer if I have to do this, if it is not possible, the way it will be to wait for the animation to end for you to choose the char, or, to remove the animation.

Thanks to all who are prestige my work with OldGamer, soon I will put the two versions of Akito in my updated website.

PS: I'm looking for partnerships to help me with the content of the website, because I'll also be working with the hosting system if someone has CVS-style productions and does not have a fixed place to store them. Whoever is interested, just send PM to me

The Akito that's packed with the game seems okay but I feel as if the LVL2 Thunder Genocide is way too damaging, dealing almost a LVL3's average amount.

thank you taybear but there wont be no plan for a 720p version I am very sorry. the screen pack was made for Akito's low spec pc. but if you want to make look better for your self then I say go for it, but just keep in mind that all this was made for Akito to run it better on his low spec pc :) and he told me him self all he want for his screen pack to run faster on low spec pc and to be low spec for everyone to use :D

as much as i wanna say good stuff about this screenpack, it is just utterly cluttered and everything has varying amounts of quality. There's no clear direction for the screenpack and it looks like there's just stuff thrown in there for the sake of it.

It feels unorganized as hell and just feels like theres stuff all over it for the sake of having something fill up the screen.

Downloaded the update. I'm going to be honest, but I do not like the changes you made to the screenpack. Here's my feedback on why:

-The 3 characters standing on the loading screen feels out of place and the "MUGEN" title looks completely disjointed as the G is not in the middle. The old loading screen felt like a logo and now it looks like 3 characters standing in the air.

-Why is the text for Capcom and SNK now green? OldGamer gave those text a unique color for a reason. It is not meant to be shared with the rest of the text.

If you plan to update it again, please change them back. Nothing wrong with the screenpack itself, but aesthetics took a major hit.

- You're right about that, I did not like the result either. In fact, I was wondering what to do on this loading screen. I wanted something more "clean", and I had already put the name "Capcom vs. SNK" in various places of the screenpack, over and over again. So it did not get too repetitive, I tried to create something different, so that's when I came up with the idea of ​​putting the name "Mugen". After all, this is where this project is being. But I already know what to do, I'll change that.

- I added the text completely in green, because the screenpack itself already has many colors, so much as the colors in the text had a goal, I believe that the whole screenpack already made it clear that the title "Capcom vs SNK - Mugen "make an obvious reference to both Capcom and SNK. And on each side of the select screen already has a sign with the name of the two companies, each represented by a color, blue and red. This part will not change, I think it's good this way.

PS: I will make the modifications inside the screenpack, and also put a folder called "extra" with all the material of the first version of the screenpack, in case who wants to change according to your taste. I'm a graphic artist, it's my job. I always like to receive criticism to keep evolving in my way of creating things, and this screenpack I want everyone to like, because I always dreamed of doing a Mugen based on that theme, and thanks to my friend OldGamer this became possible.

Version 1.1 I did not modify anything, it's exactly the same as before, I just changed version 1.0.

I look at it, but I'm going to have to say no. The M.U.G.E.N title has no transparency and feels like a cheap Photoshop. And the text feels more jaggy than before. If you are intentionally want to add some background behind the M.U.G.E.N title, make it look like a ribbon or flag.

I feel like without the globe, it makes the 3 character looks disjointed. The problem I have is that without it, it's makes the cut-off line between Chun-Li and Mai more noticeable (Mostly where their necks are), which the globe itself hides.

And no problem regarding the feedback, glad you are taking constructive criticism to heart. :)

Now seeing with the new logo, it looks much better. Even more than the original as the globe feels more appealing. Although, I'm surprised your original character Akito is not even present anywhere. I mean, he's the star character for Capcom vs SNK: MUGEN. Shouldn't he be on the globe?

Another thing that bugs me about the "No Ryu/Kyo" version, why are those specs of black on top of the CvS and near Chun-Li/Mai's necks not there but on the one with Ryu/Kyo? Feels like the logo got cropped a bit.

Put Akito in the middle of the logo with Ryu/Kyo and leave the logo unedited with all characters out for the Ryu/Kyo version. That's all I have for now, will download again when updated.

For me, it's almost perfect. The logo without Ryu and Kyo feels blurry than the one with them. I really like the Akito silhouette you put in as it makes people curious on who is that character on that logo. However, the silhouette is sharper than the logo itself. Making it feel off a bit.

Don't change the logo with Ryu/Ken as I'm also satisfied with that. The version without Ryu and Kyo needs a slight adjustment as the size of the logos should be exactly the same as each other, not different.

these are rip from the orignal sound from the real game of CVS on dreamcast, that I rip the sound my self . most the sound were custom made by me to go with the screen,

I think that was Akito doing, because last time I remember I made sure that the snk and mugen were spaced between them, I will ask Akito to fix it as soon as possible, and thank you so mush for taking the the time and take a good close look attention on this screen pack, Im gonna take a good look on Akito's Sprite inside all the .SSF file and look over them again. I hope I'm not too rusty on mugen because I was away for very long time, I have some free time and getting back now!! in the mugen wagon

I have not changed anything in the credits since the release, but this is easy to fix. Soon I update the links, probably in this night. =)
