DJ Van's roster looks good, but did anyone notice his face scaling is, you know, off??

Madness <_<

There's actually no scaling. Spent about an hour figuring out the numbers. Its the most amount of slots that could be fit without scaling the portraits and so that everything would be even top to bottom. Still have to animate it and fix the fonts.

Anyway serious question- anyone know any tricks with notpad++ to manage a select?

I've tried using tunglashor's visual select but right now if I want to add a charterer to a row it takes forever to shift everything down by one. If I want to add someone I'll usually drop them in between other characters- its organized by row in alphabetical order but maintaining it is taking longer than I'd like.

Adding characters with vselect messes up the grid. I spoke to tunglashor and he suggested implementing a standard for blank spots. Really interested if somone figured out a solution for this using notepad++ which I use for comparing code and what not.

Haven't played mugen since Elecbyte came back. Its funny I rushed to make a screenpack in about a week and then never used it because the res didn't work on my computer.  Anyway back to 640x480 3 years later...

I had Cybaster take this screenshot for me :sugoi:

Currently downloading all the positively review characters in Titiln's thread. Most of the stuff in my select is 3 years old so I'm slowly updating it.

The people at the arcade demand a decent Rogue- the one I have by splode is based on MVSF so the timings are diff for combos from mvc2. Also I need to get a new Cable- using Cloudius' version.

Hey Saikoro, Ryuji & GOH. I'm gonna try and be more active again :sugoi:

Just need Eli/XCB and Pneophen to come back...

Still use floppy disks- for some reason I still run into server motherboards that require it to update the firmware :S

Its all about live streams now...

Gonna try and get a live stream going at either next level arcade or deadly bison entertainment in NY.

I remember alexlexus was trying to do that before- dunno what happened. I remember way way back I went to China Town Fair and got handed to by people that play SF3 on the regular. Maybe again since they're opening CTF back up.

It would probably be easier to do in California- for now I'm just going to crash tournament events in NY.

I remembered Guild use to be on ez boards prior to 2003. Think I started early 2002- back then Nunor use to have an automated email where you could request a character from the database and he'd reply with the attachment. Mahn that was good service  :sugoi:

Also the board I was thinking of was Mugen Dev- I feel old now XD

Found it on Archive.org
http://web.archive.org/web/20031030142603/http://www.shinmugen.net/dev/

Also Shin Mugen- damn forgot about that site. Street Mugen and there was another database too... Wish I could remember the name. Back then it was mgbr, guild, street mugen, and some mortal kombat mugen site (mugen crypt?) where it was just Mortal Kombat characters and Killer Instinct characters with naked chicks...

edit:
MugenTomb*

I thought it was a filter :-\

Something like instagram or hipster filter presets for photoshop? I mean for the stages- the colors look really vivid for all of phantom g's stuff. I really just wanted to know the technique. There's no tutorial for it? Like overlay/multiply/sharpen etc? I can get close to it but not quite...

PM me if you could plz :sugoi:

Was on the original board- think that was 2 boards before this one. Can't remember correctly but there was a board before and for some reason Guild had to start from scratch again back in 03.

Anyone remember that board that Flowagirl, splode, Eli and a few other creators were apart of? It was only for "elite" creators which seems kinda funny now. I remember it closed and all the creators that use to hang there went to RandomSelect. Wish I could remember the name...

Anyone else not clean out their pm box for 10 years?

Is V1 the same as V2 but with the sub turned off?

Also they seem kinda big- custom portraits seem kind of a pain for the average user no?

Just some ideas:

Also quick question its been a while but that filter you guys use.. what is it? I notice the same thing on MOTVN's stuff but its been a while. I think I asked him a while back and he said its just HDR with a bunch of layers. Def wanted to know the technique tho.

Finished a select screen but not quite ready for a release. Would be nice to have the ability to use low res screenpacks though, I mean technically the whole screen pack isn't hi res if the title, vs and menu screens aren't. I feel like if everyone rushes to update their sp there will be a new version soon that does the title, vs and menu screens in hi res making the old hi res screenpacks obsolete until they're updated.

Again so until that happens I guess it'd be best to wait or if they had a toggle switch for different parts of the screenpack to be in hi and low res. Like I find it funny that this was suppose to solve the issue of having hi and low res stages on one mugen but now you have to have a hi res screenpack as well rather than an option to choose. I only say that because people made the argument that its not feasible to upscale all the stages to fit with hi res back when the first hack came out- so I guess it wouldn't be feasible for all the creators to upscale their screenpack for this new hack?

I think in order to create a green overlay you'd set the layer to the top priority to show over the sprites and set the layer to "add".  The layer would have to be the size of the portrait*

Also you're waiting till after March to release this when MGS4 comes out? Because then there would be a new OST and new game art to use <_<

Maybe as an easter egg or whaterver you could rip one of the samples from this vid for an announcer sound:

"Its time for a crab battle" or something like that :sugoi:

Also you plan on doing a filter/overlay to make the character portraits look green?

I use both PSP and PS CS3 but I think PSP is better when working with sprites and what not in 256 colors. Also its palette editor is better than PS CS3. But I still use PS CS3 for sigs and effects on sprites. Once that stuff is done I bring it over to PSP to do boarders or edit the palette. PSP also gives better compression rates on png's and jpegs by default for some reason. The selection tool in PSP is better too and again- PSP is better for editing sprites in 256.

Also PSP X2 just came out :sugoi:

But meh what your talking about would be a "thread rating" which is easy to implement. They'd have to limit it to contributors or somethin though otherwise it'd be abused like our rating system in the db is...
