on this vid, you can see that the smaller image is sticked to the bottom while the biggest one goes a little bit higher if a char jump...
that should mean, if your spriterip has correct values, that the game is able to display some sprites with different resolutions...
a solution could be to resize properly the background like this & to use it in place of the orignal one:

another solution in my mind: why not to use the window parameter for the biggest sprite? (window = 0,0, 320,224)
