it culd take over a year so even if it were hi res (which it wont be) youd have to wait

btw good luck with this i had to make jin using nxc sprites as im no good at editing but to be able to play as full size custom jin taht woudl be great

I've never been the hugest DBZ fanboy, but DBZ3 holds some fond memories and I like the idea of trying to create your own game out of it.  I can relate a little as I'm trying to do something similar with KOF, although not starting from scratch like you are.  As long as all the sprites mix well with each other and the backgrounds, I'm cool with them.  I don't tinker around with Mugen for the graphics.  That's what consoles are for. 

I think the only negative opinion that I've got concerns the roster.  I'm always a little disheartened with games that feature both SSJ Goku and SSJ3 Goku when that spot could've been given to another lovable DBZ character (like Broly or Android 18).  Much is the same with games that give you Ryu, Gouki, Shin Gouki and Evil Ryu all at the same time.  I can't pretend to know your reasons though, so you be on good authority here.  Just throwing in my 2 cents.  Best of luck with your project.

thanks for your opinion, characters like andriod 18 will feature later on

the reasoning on having 2 gokus is this

one goku is the super goku which transforms ssj2 to ssj3

the other is ssj goku which i just briefly editing the hair on standing and walking sprites

the reason i have two is because ssj2 goku could kill nearly everyone apart from the buus but ssj goku cant, i have both just to balance it out abit as goku is my favourite character i like to have a weaker version as well for enemies such as frieza and the andriods

thanks all, and like cyanide said editing the palettes might not be a bad idea

warusakis goku looks nice with the palette edit so i might try that, although ub22's colours are very funny and his hair and face share alot of colours as his gi

as for the icons in the screenpack it is very early days so yeah i havent done anything apart from a quick mess around with the files and a few sprite swaps in ff but the circle idea sounds ok
actually just looking at the kamehameha screen i see what u mean the image at the bottom corner does look abit shit lol

Well, let's be honest. The current screens make me wanna puke, making something out of cell shaded chars is so much easier and better looking. Besided DB chars doesn't really fit anywhere, mean small overpowered and friggin anoying (at least most of them). Will never fing a place in my mugen.

Is it me or do we have DB flood again?

Its all personal opinion

UB22 Sprites size up to most other

They wont be cheap and overpowered

It wont be some shit MUGEN game like alot are were all the characters play sooo much different and have totally different fx, i want everything to be similar the way it would be in a real game

But if u are not interested in DBZ then why bother posting ? You havent said anything of any use at all

Ok here it is UB22 Project has moved in to its WIP status

Characters in progress so far

SSJ Goku = 60% by me
Vegeta = Hypers WIP
Piccolo = Voidz Early WIP
Cell = 10% by me

By this stage there will be 12 characters in total 8 heroes and 4 villians

Then Other characters will be made and put in as we go along, starting with the major ones

Like i said this is very early days and alot will change

Gameplay

Here is a brief outline of how characters will play

Four standard attack buttons, a ki charge button and ki shot(andriods wont have ki charge)

At the moment(things will change), characters will have

Melee attack 1 (e.g elbow dash) - QCF, x
Melee attack 2 - QCF, a

Level 1 Ki special attack 1 (e.g kamehameha bomb) - QCF, y
Level 1 Ki special attack 2 - OCF, b

Level 2 Ki special attack (e.g final flash beam attack) - QCF, x+y
Level 2 Melee special attack - QCF, a+b

Level 3 Hyper (e.g spirit bomb) - D,B,F,c(ki blast button)

There will most probably be more moves using QCB commands and little grab moves at close proximity, but for now just worry about the above moves

Level 3 Hypers should not be one hit kills and should take different damage according to power level, 500 would be for quite a strong character 400 is more average

well thats a basic outline, i will implement flying in every character

as for ai it will be very simple and basic for now

its a full game not a blow up contest

Well what do you think, i could still do with a couple of EXPERIENCED coders

tiny update.

added some effects like smoke after firing nikita,
added explosion from missle..
added 4 sounds. punch punch kick and socom fire.

THOUGHT about a ending using some screenshots i can get from the actual game. LOL.

still need to add Grenade animation, Grenade it self, Greande Explosion... pretty much everything grenade worth lol.

i'll release him in 7 days when my Fileden account gets fixed.

lets hope this character can bring a smile to my face during that shitty period

When you are flying as my goku wip and perform a move that kills them mugen crashes and says something about infinite animtime loop

i have never had this happen before

like being that short and having the hit sparks appear above him.

Sometimes it can be punishment. Specially if the beta causes a lot of hype and people ask for the completed one.

"haha you'll never get it now" Is really quite effective punishment for the gits who leak it in the first place, sure it enhances the "creators are mean" mentality. But you have to remember when it comes to releases it's ALWAYS creator choice. They don't have to but they do. When you abuse their trust, they remove your enjoyment, sometimes.



However i dont see how peopl can think like that, i like my work to be shared and people to have it

yeah i'm back from vacation now, and i'm gonna edit his stance to animate it a bit since he doesnt have any animation really.

also... i'll release him soon. i just got some effects from a friend (explosion for missles) and i'll rip his sounds from the MGS1 game now that i'm home.

he looks nice u need to fix up the hitsparks on his basic combo but still looks decent hopefully it will be a good hit

I watched the video. So you gave him the ability to fly? Or was that a bug?
i used my previous goku as a base which had flying, so it is not a bug i wuldnt post my character with bugs on, it will make me look like aq budget creator , however i may remove the flying as many find it extremly "cheap"

as for the ai he has the ai from my previous goku again which is very agressive, it will be toned down

remember this is an early goku so dont make final judgements yet
