MVC1 and 2 are okay games. They are damn fun actually. But I dislike mugen characters because they aren't done well and some have horrid move spamming issues and lame combos to boot.

Quoted for emphasis.

I agree.

I often run into problems with MVC characters while playing mugen. It's not that the characters themselves are bad (made by Capcom), it's just that their ported mugen versions tend to be completely ridiculous and half-assed....

Also: Reza, ME EITHER! Looking forward to the new VS series.

Wow it has been a long time since I've been here but....dam! Dam what was that hoo-ha about? Kid's got problems. I don't care what people say, this is what happens when punk brat kids don't get a nice good beating every now and then for stepping out of line.

Hmmm cool looking game, but I like the old-school 2d look better. This one just doesn't cut it for me.

Just started testing out the new beta, so far everything seems to be running great. I will let you know if I find any bugs that haven't been reported yet. Good job by the way  :sugoi:.

I fail to see what the issue is...let the people request all they want, even the spammers. In any case, all they can do is REQUEST. It's not up to them to obtain the characters they are requesting, it's up to the creators to decide if they should give the requesters what they are asking for. The creators are the ones who should decide which among the requesters really deserve to get what they want.

I guess what I am trying to see is...USE YOUR OWN DISCRETION. Sort out the assholes from the non-assholes, respond to requests from those you have a good feeling about, and everything should be fine. Nothing is perfect, and never will be, so...this is a dead issue in my opinion. And if anyone is spamming requests on that board, the easiest solution would be to simply suspend their accounts or ban them...

Well, it's been a long while since I last posted in these forums, and it goes without saying that I haven't even contributed anything to this particular community. However, I am still a MUGEN fan / creator, even though I have not really published any of my works as of yet... But I remember what the old forums were like, and I am totally IN FAVOR of the changes that have been made by the administrators of this community. The reason why I know so much of what things used to be like is because I spent hours reading through the forums. I don't really know the opinions of many other people in this community about this recent change and quite frankly I don't care, because most of what I am used to seeing is a bunch of complaining little pansies anyway. But I am glad that Sepp and some of the other administrators decided to throw away many of the pussy-catering rules and regulations that the old forums had, and truth be told...this is for the BEST anyway, it will only HELP the community, not hinder it. The WORST that these changes will do is separate the pussies from the REAL grown-ups...and anyone with half a brain knows that this kind of separation is EXACTLY what we need! It's been a long while since I have seen competent administrators willing to step up to the plate and get rid of the bullshit once and for all (or at least for the time being...)

Long story short (too late)...The forum change is a GOOD idea, because all this talk about "warehouses"/"leechers" is really bogus. I mean, why make stuff available to the public and THEN have the nerve to bitch and complain about hundreds of strangers hosting your creations? And this talk about "originality" is totally forgetting the fact that many MUGEN creations aren't even ORIGINAL creations.... most of the stuff is influenced in some way shape or form by Capcom, NAMCO, EIDOS, and whatever other video game company/anime company/movie company that is out there. Ok let's be REAL about this...most MUGEN creations are EXTENSIONS, taken straight from the official video games themselves and modified in some way to the author's liking. I am not even going to explain in detail all these mock-ups of Street Fighter characters...anyone who was around back in the good old days of 2D gaming knows that Capcom OWNED that shit, they were the ones who came up with this stuff and perfected it. Most of what MUGEN is today, and what MUGEN is really about, comes from these "Fathers of Old-School Gaming". So you wanna talk "originality"? Make a revolutionary game engine with revolutionary gaming style...then we'll talk.

So high-five to the forum administrators, keep it real.... Silius motha fuckas!....over and OUT! *Salutes* "I'm rich BIATCH!" *honk honk!*

Aha ok the reason for why you can't use the normal ShugenDo.exe file is that your Grafic Crad does not Support DX9.But any way you can still use the Software render version.
But i do not have any clue abou you key problems.
Maybe your ShugenDo window got out of focus?

That's odd I thought it did...oh well.

Well sometimes the keys would work, but sometimes they wouldn't. I'd have to actually press alt+tab to get my window out of shugendo, maybe there is some kind of glitch with my keyboard or something that makes the keypad malfunction.

Anyways, I finally did get to play on shugendo. I managed to get into battle with kfm, and things seem to work fine there. There is only one problem I noticed though, the sprites seem to move out of sync with each other. Meaning I would jump or move around, and the floor sprite would move out of place from the other sprites. The same goes for the ceiling sprite and wall sprite. Also, the parallax of the floor seems to be whacky...but that's the only real problem I noticed with the sprites. I have to test it out some more to see what else is going on. I'll let you know what else if I can.

Hmmm strange problem.
I never heard about a key problem.
The next beta will support a key config menu, so you can change thet key map.

Can you give me some infos about you system like which grafic card, mem, CPU, OS ...

No problem. Here are my system specs:

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2100+
1.73 GHz, 512 MB of RAM

Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4800 SE(AGP8X)
                        nv4_disp Version - 6.14.10.9371

I hope that helps. ^^

I'll just be happy if ShugenDo is as stable as any good commercial game engine, and actually supports much higher resolutions  ;D.

Thats my intention.
You can test the new beta 2 on www.sakirsoft.com and give me reports about it.
Its pretty stable now.

Ok I downloaded the beta 2 version, and I am having a few problems just getting it to run. The default .exe doesn't run on my machine, so I just used your ShugendoSw.exe instead and that seems to work at startup (you said to try this anyway if the first one didn't work). So ShugendoSw starts, I can access options and Arcade mode, but Arcade Mode is where I have the most problems (oh and sorry if I bring up things that may have already been discussed!):

Arcade:
1) In character selection, my controls start to glitch. The numpad does not work, and the 'a' 's' 'w' 'd' keys work properly for a few strokes until a few keys just stop working for whatever reason. The space key does nothing in arcade and options mode.

2) On the character select screen, I can select kfm but it does not let me actually begin a battle. The game stays on the character selection screen, and I can still move the selection square around without anything actually happening. Space does nothing at this point either.

Not sure if this is supposed to happen, and I tried to find some documentation on how to properly operate shugendo on your website, but I am at a loss...
