POST EDIT: Page load time was horrendous. Didn't know if it double posted or not, and I see it did  --;. Sorry! somebody delete the locked topic please

For the leechers and those who care about this update
=========================================
I've spent all last week and this week updating him on a limited time schedule, trying to debug all the stupid shit that was still in this char. Most of it is gone, but some things are still prevelant (no proj limit, small things like that).

The name "Evil Lucky" was unanimously hated by just about everyone who played with him and at some point, I started disliking the name too, so...that's the reason for the name change. Plus, this character has a lot of goofy incentives in his arsenal....only a real lucky person would have what he has  :P.

I'm pretty much done updating this char for right now. I want to move on to another project. My priorities of keeping up with him and another WIP I got going on are outta whack and need to be on track so....yeah, updating this other version of Lucky is at a halt. I've learned a lot and got a LOT of help from the guild in coding a character, and I want to put it to even more good use to a fresh new WIP.

From the doc itself
==============
==============
What's Been Done
===================================================
- 8 total strikers (G-Mantle has been replaced)
- More specials (6 dash attacks, 2 of them combo-based, basketball proj, other stuff)
- new PalFX for the supers & strikers
- deleted some stuff
- cleaned up some code
- 1 new super taken out (DB Abuse) until I get it the way I want it
- 4 new supers added (Ball Barrage, three new Dirty Bird variations)

What's Needed
===================================================
-Striker IDs did properly. they appear, then disappear when the match starts so...yeah, inactive for now.
-random Intro/Win states
-limit projectile usage
-hit sparks for the Hadouken need to be realigned
-Haste Activation (
-Throw(n) animations
-floating glitch (enables when in air pressing down+x,y,z,a,b, or c. it's not infinite; he can
 be brought back down to the 0,0 plane just by simply pressing up again.
 But still, a  nuisance)
-Sound  :P (sry, but my sound card is just shot, and I just don't have the time to get another one right now. got other responsibilities going on in life. if you really wanna hear sound just copy sander's SND file and use it with RealLucky)

I can't get Snag It to function the way I really want it to, so instead of a vid demonstration here are some pics of the strikers and his ball barrage super.

Exactly. As I know, no one from Strip Fighter has been converted to MUGEN

Ugh....dammit. Does somebody have an answer to my question?
If you post a MUGEN shot, it's probably he exists... but I don't know if has been released or not. Try to find him in MI or in japanese pages ;)

- Mugen Infantry is on its periodic schedule of being down.
- Japanese pages? Where would I exactly start?

Besides Alucard and Richter, I've seen a few other SOTN characters pop up here on MUGEN (minotuar, frankenstein, etc). So how's about it?

I'm also requesting sprite rips of the items too.

I remember seeing some conspiracy show on FOX a few years ago....they convinced me. Because the Russians did it first I think we didn't land on the moon 40-ish years ago (whats with the flag moving as if a cool breeze is blowing?).  We eventually did obviously but not back in 196X. Just a mock-up to please the American public and saying we handled shit too, even if we were late.

Not knocking this topic but, wouldn't this be better off as a poll question?

Nowadays, I don't like neither. There isn't anything I haven't seen before in both types of games in years past. But.....if I had to choose, I'd choose FPS. Better to play with some friends than playing with yourself.

....although, Parasite Eve's story (yeah, I know.....old  ::)) always gets me...

This seems unnecessary to me.

 :yes: . This will do or solve nothing for the forum. The only way this would be truly effective is reconfiguring the entire world of the MUGEN engine and the coding process of chars. MUGEN is open source and people are at liberty to do whatever they want, be it modest or malicious, so having this option put into place in the forum would just be a waste of time. People could easily just create more forum accounts to get what they want anyway, if one were to be banned.

Oh man. Eastgate Mall in Indianapolis. Times Square Arcade center. 1994. Had EVERYTHING.

SF2 was probably the game I can remember playing first....they had so many arcades. They had the shitty SF1, 3 Count Bout, Fatal Fury, MK, ....they had so much it's hard to recall. I played as many as I could. I was probably 5 or 6 when Karate Champ was actually released so yeah....a lot of REAL old gems I didn't play until a few years later. I was born in 1983 so I was at the crossroads of OLD old-school and new school. That was the thing for Times Square Arcade that kept it alive - it kept all the oldschool arcades even though not a lot of people where playing them. Hell, I remember me and some friends gettin' gangsta in a game of sit-down Pac-man (you know what I'm talkin about)

Quote
LOL wasn't karate champ the first fighting game ever?
Yeah, I think it is. But SF gets the credit, just like Nolan Bushnell gets the mainstream-media credit for being the father of video games when it's really Baer.

Wouldn't be nice to see a fighting game be played with directional sticks again  :afro:

It Does Record Sound but its really really low.

and...
BTW: the record sound box is checked.

Hmmm....try making the volume louder via editing your sound card/driver's properties. Should be able to do that through your computer's control box

This may sound like an odd question to ask but, which OS are you using? I remember when I had Vista, it was impossible to record any sound, but once I had XP back on it was gold.
It still records low...-_-

I have XP.

The only other option I can give you is trying to look up some tutorials on YouTube. They have quite a bit on vid/audio recording MUGEN fights.

okay now i have goldwave and i'm using it.
i have my ps2 hooked up to my hardware piece in my computer and i record a song(actually the video, trying to rip sound out of it) and it is all w/ too much bass, so there is static...alot of static

i even turned the music down on the game, and the computer and goldwave, but it still is staticy.

does anyone know how to fix this? ???

1. can i just rip a sound and music straight from the video game?

2. if so, i just set my camcorder up to the tv, then i have something on my computer that lets u record and put anything that is in the input device to the computer monitor( so i'm basically recording what i recorded from my camcorder.)  then it converts the format to a video. how do i use the video to take the sound off to make a sound file?

i am planning on posting this in the child boards sound section when i get it all done. so yea i'm willing to share. ;)

Ironically I posted a DIY topic on sound ripping the poor man's way that is majorly similar to this a few days ago. Check it out, it may help you.

I've been ripping audio from games the way you're trying to do it for years. This is would I would do:

Answering your main problem
=====================
For your audio-in just record through the mic input. Make sure your microphone's properties are adjusted right so that don't record too loudly (the higher the dB, the worse off you are).

Personally I use Sound Forge or Adobe Audition to record audio (moreso Audition).

Answering your first sub question
========================
It depends on what game you're trying to rip. Is it an actual ps2 game or a ps1 game running on the ps2? For PS1 games the best sound editing tools for ripping music would be PSMPlay and PsxMC. For sound effects, PSound. Get them at Zophar's Domain. For PS2 games it really varies because a lot of older PS2 games have different audio file formats. MAudio is probably the best tool available. There aren't too many PS2 audio ripping programs. Then again, PSound was able to rip the entire soundtrack to Capcom VS SNK2 for the PS2  o_O, so....yeah, just experiment. You can find all those progs at Zophar's too.

Answering your second sub question
==========================
There's no point to really doing any of that if you follow your first method and do it right. If you record your sound and you feel you're getting too much bass and static, its because you probably have audio clipping and you do NOT want that. You'll just have to adjust the volume controls of your mic/line-in device. The volume of your TV set has nothing to do with what your recording, nor does the volume of your computer speakers. Just your recording device.

Uh....I hope that helps you!

You probably don't have the 'record audio' option enabled for Snag it. Make sure it's turned on. Further more, edit your audio preferences in Snag it. If you don't have your sound card/driver/whatever loaded, Snag it won't recognize any sound.
