The Sony leaks continue to provide a bounty of information: an email from the Russo brothers has them confirming they're gonna direct Avengers: Infinity War. I think it's pretty likely that Whedon will have some sort of involvement in it, however.

also since Spider-Man joining the MCU is still a possibility maybe, Marvel's requirements for that happening is for a "clean slate", a complete break from all previous movies, with a new actor portraying Spidey, no doing his origin again for the third goddamn time, and less of a focus on the romantic aspects of Peter Parker's life and focus more on splitting time between his normal life and superheroing. Booting out Andrew Garfield was apparently the point of contention with the Sony execs, and may have led to them backing out of a deal (unless Sony Japan steps in, maybe).

And speaking of Sony execs not wanting to recast Andrew Garfield...

Interesting.

Variety reports that SEGA has begun planning the development of classic and modern video game franchises for film and television. SEGA has tapped Break Media executive Evan Cholfin to lead the efforts at Tokyo-based Stories International, a joint venture between SEGA and Hakuhodo DY Group launched in 2011.

The first titles SEGA plans to move forward with are “Altered Beast,” “Streets of Rage,” “Shinobi,” “Rise of Nightmares” and “Crazy Taxi”. Plans are for English-language live action and animated spinoffs. “Virtua Fighter” and “Golden Axe” are also being considered.

With the news of a joint venture with Sony Pictures to produce a Sonic the Hedgehog movie, SEGA will have a big presence in Hollywood in the coming years!
That Streets of Rage movie better have a soundtrack by Yuzo Koshiro, or at the very least use an arrangement of his music. >:[

Every variant cover to ever grace a comic book in history has lead up to this moment.

The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be. Coming March 2015.

That seems fair; I think it's clear at this point that this won't stop, no matter what we say to mikecrazy.

The Evil Within

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed by this. I had sorta fallen off on the previews and news about this since it's a new Mikami game that's basically RE with the edges filed off, so why bother, of course it will be good? And then I play it and jeez, it just feels like a mess. I wouldn't go so far as to call it bad outright, but it's just not a good game. The gameplay feel pretty half-baked, and the shooting is simply atrocious. The game does a pretty poor job at exploring the concepts it introduces, and it often feels that the lessons it is teaching you are immediately contradicted by the next chapter. It really does feel like the game is fighting you each and every step of the way, and only feels fun intermittently.

also the story, characters, and voice acting are all complete and utter garbage, and not in that strange terrible-but-also-brilliant-but-still-very-dumb-yet-transcendent way that Resident Evil is. I'm really disappointed :(

also, apparently the review copies came with an extensive cheat sheet, of sorts, with tips and hints for every part of the game, as well as an advisement for the reviewers not to play on the "Survival" difficulty, which is basically equivalent to normal (the game recommends it for people who've played survival horror before), and instead playing on the easy difficulty. I can't exactly blame Bethesda for that, because this game is a mess.

Here's all the palettes. As always, if you have a problem with any of the palettes you've submitted or want me to rename them (thought I can't imagine why anyone would want to do that for the palettes I've named, which include "sabockee_Grey", "sabockee_DarkGrey", and of course "sabockee_Slate", all so unique and distinctive), all you have to do is ask!

TOTAL PALETTE COUNT: 114

also seriously you guys I need some help with these sprites:

It looks really weird for them to throw grenades with closed fists!!!

And i was hoping that jmorph would add the Ryo KoF96 stance sprites that i had here with my fake account(i think Those were the secondary update sprites that byakko planned but then he quit from mugen)
From this post?

The 96 stance doesn't really gel well with the CvS sprites, and also I kind of hate it. But there's always the alternate XIII stance by Judas!

That looks gorgeous.

Some of this was already posted in the MCU thread but there's some more stuff: as revealed in the recent Sony leaks, Sony is currently throwing every idea that sticks to the wall in their desperate attempt at saving their Spider-Man movie franchise. One of those was letting Marvel reboot the franchise but for Sony to handle the distribution and advertising, which fell through. Another idea on the table, which is still under consideration, is an animated comedy movie by Clone High/Lego Movie/21 Jump Street maestros Chris Miller and Phil Lord, which sounds amazing, simply from that description.

Also, something else from the Sony leaks: currently under consideration is , which, what? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!?!?!

Except Link's not left handed or right handed. He's ambidextrous. The most that was said in a Zelda game is that he prefers to use his left hand. Besides the direction of the new Zelda game seems to be this and he's holding his sword in his right hand:
That's just after the fact justification! Link's left handed >:[

anyway yeah, it's Sony's loss, because they clearly have absolutely no goddamn idea about how to run their franchise.

I'm really upset that the new Link is right-handed like Skyward Sword Link even though the game appears to be gamepad-only. This is complete bullshit Link is left-handed, it's canon, it's unfair >:[

Nah, my post wasn't some kind of flamebait. I was genuinely curious about the previous comment because in some way or another I heard bad things about some Zelda games I like, but not for this one. On the other side, everyone hates Spirit Tracks, right? RIGHT? (I couldn't finish the darn game).
I barely finished Phantom Hourglass and avoided Spirit Tracks because the former was so lackluster. Was Spirit Tracks really worse?

as for Skyward Sword, I dunno, I think I like it more than Twilight Princess. SS, even with some less than stellar design choices, at least felt like it was trying out a lot of new things; TP just felt like a retread of what had come before, even if it explored its concepts better and in a more thought out way than SS and also Midna is so much better than Fi (but I don't think is Fi terrible like the internet does, she's fun, she just interrupted things way too much!). I think they're both good games but definitely not among the best of Zelda.

It's my opinion. Wanna test, go ahead and tell us your opinion.
All Markpatchi is saying is that your post saying, "I've tested him and it was meh.", is not helpful nor substantive feedpack. Don't post stuff like that in the future, because it is of no use to anyone. Please try to post more like your second post, because it actually helpful to the author.

Constantine is (was, maybe? there was a reboot) bi in the comics. When asked about this Goyer got all hot and bothered and basically dismissed the idea of that.

I don't know what that means and I won't respond to it.

I probably should put this in the entertainment news section because it's (probably, like all other DC shows) not gonna be in the same continuity as the DCCU, but who even cares; this isn't the MCU thread! Anyways...

Visonary screenwriter David S. Goyer is doing another DC show, Krypton (which had been rumored a while back). Naturally it is set on Krypton, and follows Superman's grandfather "as he brings hope and equality to Krypton." I, for one, can't wait to see how they'll shoehorn references to Superman villains/mythos in terrible, terrible dialogue, ala Gotham. Also curious to see how Goyer will follow up his two previous shows in turning a gay character straight for this show (see his shitty da Vinci show, and his shitty Constantine show), which isn't really going to be able to use many established Superman characters!

in more hopeful/interesting news, Mark Hamill is playing the Trickster again for the new Flash series which is pretty cool:
Quote
Mark Hamill returns in a brand new interpretation of James Jesse (aka The Trickster), a role he originated on the 90′s ‘Flash’ series. In this new iteration, The Trickster is an anarchist terrorist con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights who helps Barry (Grant Gustin) and Det. West (Jesse L. Martin) to foil the city-wide attacks of a wannabe Trickster eagerly following in the original’s deadly footsteps. The episode will reunite him with John Wesley Shipp who went up against him as the original ‘Flash’ on the CBS version.
Oh. oh. Ewwwwwwwwwww.

HOOAH

(I hope whatever role they have for him just calls for nonstop scene chewing, and not much else, because that's all he's done acting-wise for the past 2 decades)
