i format my pc and installed win 7 ,maybe a big mistake

but when i run mugen (old mugen) , there is no sound at all , not even characters's sounds or interface sounds

i have

Realtek AC 97 Audio drivers
Nvidia Geforce 4 Mx 400  Video card (old but works)

and tried.

-updating and installing drivers for  ac97 and nvidia but no luck
-windows updates
-older drivers for ac97
-all driver update software
-reinstalling directx

all of that and i still have that problem, i can hear music normally (outside mugen) and hear windows sounds too.
any ideas?

personally i like third world homemade arcade sticks , lots of mexicans in ggpo make their own arcade sticks as they like.

not as big as that one , but like i said: "as they like" , i like the Xbox360 pad too, i was having problems to pull out moves like i usually do with arcade sticks in the first weeks then i get used to it, the problem is not the joypad/arcacestick  the problem is your hands ,with practice you can get used to any joypad/arcadestick

the whole MK 1-3 roster will be in the game.
so we will see kabal inflating people's heads and scaring them to death? ,  i wonder how it would look. or maybe they will stick to MKD's fatalities, corny fatalities , but thats what makes mortal kombat awesome

That just means the weak/strong versions are useless  ;P

Take Vice, You'd use standing A, crouching B, Jumping CD, Both C attacks (far is range, close is cancel) and close D. These all allow combo's or have good poke/priority. You don't use the other ones because they're not nearly as good.

what about standing CD , Jump A and Jump D,  Crouch D (whiffable with qcb + B ) , Crouch  C (makes miracles) , Crouch A poke, Stand. D anti-air (now you got 3 anti-airs for different situations). i find most of vice's moves very useful except for jump C and B, vice is pretty weak in Air vs Air combat

in my personal opinion , SF is like a game for people that are starting into fighting games ,i dont really like it because lacks of hops/hyper hops giving you a more  lazy and slow gameplay (but a very tactical gameplay), in kof having hops and hyper hops you can play fast with overheads, instant overheads, crossups, jump and hit low games etc, it makes the game more exciting, tactical and fast.

personally i like 4 buttons ,  but having  2 more wont hurt, every single move in fighting games is useful for SOMETHING,  ryu without C.medium kick affects his gameplay a lot  it has properties that weak and strong versions doesnt have.

If this game will make it outside of Japan, this will be my 1rst time playing KOF series, hoping this version will not be a failure like the previous one.  How's the learning curve?
Oh god! , i highly recommend you to play the classic kof games first , i think kof 98 or 2002 are good to start with, about the learning curve, since kof xiii has similar gameplay like other kof games (not MI), the learning curve is just about weeks/months but the kof's learning curve in general is about 4 months to know the basics and use streetfighter style gameplay or being noobish,1 year to learn the stuff that "you should" to know, 2 years to play decently(combos, common strategies), 4+ years to play average level gameplay (like the loketest videos)

this video will help you to start playing kof properly, for sure

Final verdict:

The NeoMaxes are way too quick. When I heard about them I was expecting to see long, drawn out cinematic specials. But that's not to say some are badass.

Maybe they'll figure it out and change them in the future.
i think that they are like that because of situations like these:

clark (1 point of life) vs someone ( less than a quarter of life)
clarks does his HSDM and by  a miracle , hits the opponent   and the time left is 5 seconds

YEAAAAAAH!! , I WOON!!!, OH FUCK! THE TIME!! , KILL HIM! KILL HIM NOW ! QUICKLY!!
time is over, then opponent doesnt take damage from the HSDM so "someone" wins with minimal life gauge difference

maybe some guy from snk lost like that, and got issues

Special Moves

Ryuu Enbu: D,DB,B x/y (can be performed after Sayo Chidori) (SC)

[Command]

Hard to pull off, plus hard to link Ryuu Enbu (my fave b&b in 99 :( )

i think that this command would be  better  "~F,$D,B" , it makes HCB easier to do, because with ~F,D,B, i cant pull it off like i should , i can do it in kof with mame emulator ,so i think it should be like ~F,$D,B  , in mugen with ~F,D,B, you have to press fwd first, then do a backwards hadouken, i dont know how this works in pads/joysticks , so it would be good if you have both. but the one that shouldn't be used never its the  ~F,DF,D,DB,B motion , because in this case , you have to do a reverse hadouken, then do a backwards hadouken to pull it off.
but why is that move done with a HCB + K ? ,in kof  its  a simple QCB + K

Sure thing, then you'd just show them how much concerned everybody's about this worthy character (based on the feedback)....
that move is cheap an uncheap at the same time because it doesnt hit like everybody would think, but victorvondoom's characters pro players will abuse that antiair in tournaments and stuff, its worthy indeed
