So long story short i lost interest in mugen about 2 years ago and let all my mugen stuff on my old pc's hard drive to sit.
Today I said "what the hell" let me play with mugen on my newer pc and pull my older creations. only to find my old HD is roast.
So if you were one of the few souls that downloaded my crappy stages back in the day and have a link to some of them I would highly appreciate it.
P.S. my website at 110mb closed my account and took all my stuff offline :(
the stuff that im requesting from what ive lost:

Disco by kakuto (by me)
in soviet russia (by me)
the internet (by me)
my AH2 stages i made them and released them but for the life of me the forum i released them is now gone too.
and skinhead deathmatch if anybody happened to get that one as well.

It sounds like a futile attempt to get some of my older stuff recovered but i figured its worth a shot.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
I usually dont post as much on mugenguild anymore but I just had to share a story to get people's thoughts on a discovery i made today at my local electronics retailer store(fry's electronics for folks that know of that place in southern california). I was looking around the video game section as I usually do when I ran into this handheld device that claimed to have 20 built in sega-genesis games( I know those are pretty common, I have seen atari controllers with a/v conections to a tv with several atari 2600 compilations on them. However, this one item looked different. It was a handheld that named itself the "Sega Genesis Arcade Ultimate portable Player" When i took a closer look it seemed that it was a handheld with 20 built in games and an expansion SD slot "for extra games" at first I thought maybe inside the packaging there would be a url to download extra games on a pay service or something. Either way, something told me to take it home. I bought it and when i got home i unwrapped it. I went through the manual and discovered more about the putting games on the sd card portion of it....

At this point I was really surprised because this  item is actually licensed by sega

so in short  this item is a sega genesis turned into a handheld with an SD card slot that lets you load your own ROMS + 20 games built in(including sonic and knuckles) o_O I was pretty surprised that sega would be ok with  such a device. After looking at the manual inside the blister pack it seems the device is called "Sega Genesis Gopher" Any thoughts?also this is what the  device looks like. LOL

P.S. it also includes  an A/V conection to hook it up to the tv and it also supports wireless communication between other Gophers to play 2-player games. Its just downright weird.

2 words: unsigned code

as for the 360 being hacked. It was not truly hacked until a month ago with the jtag hack. (DVD firmware hacks that enabled piracy never truly broke the system's main security)

looking forward mostly to how sony responds to this. I remember them releasing a statement a couple of years ago about how they will go after anybody that threatened to compromise the integrity of the ps3's security system.

hahaha, lets just say that i already tried all that first hand since last week. lol  :sugoi:
3rd strike kicks ass with no loading times off a console. Sadly not many people have the balls to solder wires on a 360 motherboard.
that being said its not hard to do. the process that it takes to pull off might be nerve wrecking for your average joe though.

Everything has delta = 2,2 on it.   :-\

Give the stage some depth by lowering the deltas on the background city part.
this
however the floor and the city in the background feel like they give off an odd perspective. maybe its just me...

There has been C&D's sent in this community
Besides Kirby, who else sent them out?
actually you do have a point, its only been once but it was multiple C&D's sent because of the character in question. If I remember correctly 2 were sent until the provider gave a "final warning" to the owner of the site. So technically still C&D's just not for multiple characters

Rip yourself. It is rewarding. And then you can make them open source.

yep I do that all the time, but if there are open source alternatives already available (and in this case there are) its not a problem either :)

JNP is open source bro and he doesnt care afaik if he gets credit or not (tho it would be nice)
I believe he must be talking about another author (I suggested JNP because he IS OPEN SOURCE)
the author he is talking about does not want to let him use the sprites --;

some guy ripped the sprites of Ryu from CVS2 and claims them as their own and nobody uses them without their permission.

He did rip them, so while they're technically Capcom's, they're his on his creation, as well as he did the work of extracting them, so in a sense they are his.
this is only a belief based in this community, but if you want to get "REAL" technical the sprites would still be intelectual property of capcom or whoever did whatever sprites are in question
but in all due honesty, there are plenty open source alternatives, so I dunno why would one want to bother getting the sprites off a certain author that wants to make imaginary claims of ownership on the internet. (specially over a ryu) :P

It doesn't matter that he ripped them. Its still the property of Capcom and trying to regulate and claim sprites that you yourself do not own seems very hypocritical to me. Hell, if I wanted to create Ryu, whats to stop me from taking his "so-called owned" sprites and making my own Ryu? Whats he gonna do, sue me for using sprites that he himself does not own? Also, why do sprite warehouse websites request that you ask permission to use sprites? If you didn't create it and is patented, then you should not be claiming them. Why do I need to ask permission?

There has been C&D's sent in this community (yep, insanity) I even know of a certain little forum that was forced to shut down for warehousing a character. However in this case the character was a fan made version of kirby (all original drawn sprites code, etc)

Also slightly off topic but if you need free to use Ryu sprites go to JNP's forum he has freely available versions of them I believe

Cute, using a "PM a mod" line. The only thing that takes any time to do is the parallax and is about it. Hell on the Jyahana stage you had goofy looking slithery rain and PI lightning that didn't fit, and you got those from alternative sources. The two "hardest" things you had to do were the parallax and the lightning. The lightning being on a background controller was probably all of Tamez's idea and work anyway. So time to produce a conversion with premade effects, fairly minimal. The fact that you spent little time on it bleeds through on the final product. I'm not saying don't make a WIP thread, I'm saying if make one make it for something that actually requires more than a minimal amount of effort. It's almost on par with the Sonic compilations. --;

I apologize that you feel that way. and in reality the controller was taught to me by Tamez but at the end it was my work on this stage.(however I always credit him for helping me correct any mistakes I make, say hi to him for me please :D)
I asked Titiln and he told me that this thread is ok  ;) to stay.
as for average the stages took me an average of a couple of days. Ripping sprites, cleaning them, coding, etc.
I also apologize that you feel that my stages do not have any effort put into them but unless you find a technical problem with them (not aesthetic) then its an opinion (come on now, Hank you know that  ;)
Is there any other things you would like to have cleared up with me, sir?

Just because they do not look complicated, It does not mean they do not take time to produce.
If you want to you could PM a mod and if they agree with you, I will take down this thread and keep my logs to myself.

anyhow
bakery is finished:

it can be downloaded from the same thread as Reimi's here:
