I'm having problems i can't add the Swap file. i'm getting many errors that are making my mugen crash i changed everything to lowercase pretty much i can open it and then an error will pop up about the missing the swap file, but the problem is i can't even add the swapfile to mugen. What the shit!? I've been working at this all night and still no success :[

Before i can help you i need some more info. what xmugen distro are you using?
are you running it from F:Games or E:Games? if you are running it from E: its near impossible because the swap file will take all your space
Also as a suggestion try baby steps first. Insall the plain binaries as in
1.unzip and install r1sky's release on F:Games (you will need his distro that works only on F if you have the distro that works only on E: you are out of luck
2.Unzip my release and just overwrite whatever is asked of you to be overwritten over r1sky's release
3.Unzip my 2gb swapfile and install it on the folder name swapfile in the distro. if you are asked to overwrite the 1gb file with my 2 gb one just do so
4.ftp it over to the xbox
5.fire the xbox up and launch it with unleash x. XBMC will freeze if you try to launch it from there.
^.If it works proceed to step 6. if not trace your steps back and make sure you havent skipped a step
6. install your chars stages etc in this step.DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL A DIFFERENT SCREENPACK JUST YET. the screenpack mugen figting jam that is already install with the distro will work just fine if you are a newbie.Install only a few at a time and remember to use xmugen renamer(google it and you will find it) to rename your files properly to xmugen standards
tip: only install a few stages and characters at a time. try xmugen, test the stages and chars. If it all checks out add some more

hope this helps

Well i was happy with my 1gb xmugen, but i think i'll try this update.  ;D

btw. i have all my mugen chars zipped in my pc, due my zlib.dll of regular mugen, there would be a way to use all the chars zipped in xmugen too ?
thats a good quetion warner. I personally have not tried it. It might be worth it to give it a try :)
by the way congratulations on the release of the Big Chicken
And remember people this is for the xbox 1 not 360

Xmugen 2gb swap file release!

Ok people,
for all you xmugen fans out there here it is:
i made a 2gb swap file off r1sky's release a while ago. While i originally had made a setup that would generate it automatically through the xbox, i lost the setup when i recently got my new pc
but i did manage to keep the swap file
just replace the swap file generated by my release or r1sky's 2001 linmugen version of xmugen and enjoy
my modified xmugen distro can be read about here:
http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=66353.0
the 2 gb swap file can be downloaded from here:
http://thehiddenelect.com/forum/index.php?topic=2269.0

Faq:
what does this swap file do:

Well in some cases it can speed up xmugen and make it lag quite a bit less. The general consensus was that the bigger it is the better the performance might be. Of course making a swapfile doesnt necesarily mean performance may increase
In my case performance increased, even though if it was by a little
you may or may not get a smoother xmugen, theres variables that could or could not increase its speed
I mostly released this because there were many people that always wanted to have a 2gb swapfile for their xmugen setup
it all depends to what kind of setup you have, etc
Of course upgrading to this swap file will not detract from your current setup in any way(if anything it will only make it better)
please report any feedback if possible, thanks

based on the release
all you need to do is
ftp it to F:Games (notice how Games has a capital G)
launch it with unleash x and you should be set. I have heard that people have problems launching it with xbmc so try unleash x when you are going to launch

Well to all the people who wonder why many people choose to run mugen on xbox:
the answer is:
Because we can,  and love doing so :).
If xmugen is not your cup of tea i respect that, but also respect the right of the people who want to play it there.

I think xmugen is just plain great because if brings mugen to a broader audience.

P.S.
im on dial-up at the moment (unfortunately this was not foreseen) i will be back with dsl on the 16th, expect the 2gb swapfile update to come around the time.

For the people that say that running xmugen on your xbox hard drive, ruins it..... I have been playing xmugen on my xbox for more than a year now and my hard drive works just as good as the first day i had it (knocks wood)

it unfortunately is actually up to your tv  :-\
my dad used an hdtv and ive used it to play mugen with component cables, and it works fine(it also works fine on other of my friends that have hdtv's. Unfortunately it doesnt work on MY tv with component cables so its up to your own luck
