I fixed the Login and Register Links on the Front page.....my bad.

I'll look into inserting a Gallery.

I will also be adding content here and there myself. Would be nice to help have someone help setup the organization of everything.

I'll do my best and moving/editing things is easy.

*Shameless bump* - See first post for updates..

Plus I was wondering if a Gallery and free image hosting to registered contributors would be a good idea ?

You know google can help sometimes.

After spending a whole 3 minutes on these topics I found that first, MINIUSF is an N64 audio format.

A few searches later and I found this... USF WinAmpPlugin

Just extract and place the dll in your sound directory.

Then add this line to your mugen.cfg under the music plugin section:
Code:
plugin = plugins/in_usf.dll, usf, miniusf

Hope that helps.

Partly, like I said I am not too sure about the actual game load times. I would have to do some more testing but on the standpoint of PC resources it significantly decreases the amount used when browsing/working in the directories with huge amounts of files.

Basically they all will work like this, Sound, Font, Stages, Chars...just use the complete path names. The only reason I was doing this to begin with was to have more organization. Not having my PC lag while scanning through directories with a few thousand other dirs/files in it.

Check first post for update. I'll update that post from now on for all news worthy updates to the project. Hope to see some of you there.  ::)

Oh that's fine. If it's all left to me I guess the worst that came happen is people bitch at me for reproducing/hosting said works. Credit will always be given where it can and editing of the wiki will be limited to moderators at least until there is more data in there than can be watched and up-kept by more than a couple people.

I'll have something up tomorrow, and we will see where it goes from there....

MUGEN-Wiki.Com now open.

I have been hosting various things the past couple years. I have a few sites not going anywhere in the near future.

If I were to dedicate a section to becoming a wiki for Development, Hosting, and what-not, how much support would it get? By requesting this I hope I am not stepping on any toes/future plans of the admins/mods of this site.

I have spent the last month looking to "pimp" my mugen more than actually playing it. This could be up and running by the time this post is replied to. I do not want to be a "warehouse" and would only host files the "authors" of said files say are 'fine' and files deemed appropriate here on the forums.

- UPDATE: - 2007-09-03 - We now own the .com, .org, .net and .info domains...Other minor updates taken place. 12 Registered members so far. I been moving around and editing submissions ect. I would guess in a month or so the main layout will be done with information and tutorials on how and where to add things. Thank you all!

- UPDATE: - 2007-09-02 - 07:02pm CST - After finding a few bugs I backed up what I had and did a fresh install. Everything is functioning now. I'll try not to break it again ;) Also added free email for registered users and a Statistics script.

- UPDATE: - 2007-09-02 - 04:48pm CST - MUGEN-Wiki.Org still isn't working yet but I also purchased MUGEN-Wiki.Com. Its working now and when the .org starts resolving both domains will point to the same site. We can get started on this thing now officially.

- UPDATE: - 2007-09-01 - 12:48am CST - Bought mugen-wiki.org waiting on it to propagate.  Then I will move it over. Will update post and links when it has propagated. Still waiting on it to propagate.....think I'll buy a couple more domains anyway to be on the safe side.

- UPDATE: - 2007-09-01 -   9:45pm CST - MUGENWiki.Org installed and functional. Added neat URL's, BBCode markup and other various tweaks. Limited to add/edit content for registered users only for now. Isn't much of anything there now. This is open to anyone interested.

I'm not totally sure it cuts down on actual game load times, I do know that it cuts down on explorer resources when viewing directories with 'tons' of other dir's and files in there. That and its a lot more tidy in my opinion.

The .def isn't even needed on the last bit...

Code:
_StreetFighter/sf2blanka/sf2blanka.def, random;--------------Blanka 2
_StreetFighter/blanka/blanka.def, random;--------------------Blanka
_StreetFighter/Blanka_MvC/Blanka_MvC.def, random;------------Blanka

could be...
Code:
_StreetFighter/sf2blanka/sf2blanka, random;--------------Blanka 2
_StreetFighter/blanka/blanka, random;--------------------Blanka
_StreetFighter/Blanka_MvC/Blanka_MvC, random;------------Blanka

at least with the version I'm running.

As for the audio stuff. I was hoping some others would chime in and through "trial'n error" we would narrow down the ones the should and need to be specifically enabled.

Bobby Knight, his attacks would consist of choke holds and thrown chairs.

That's about as original as it gets!

lmfao.....

I would like to do the Hellsing anime line, Full Metal Alchemist and the "horror movie" genre...

Tweaks, Fixes / Mainly for Sound and Organization

Ok, I am only posting this because I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else.

Odd/Slow Access:
When you have over 500/1,000 characters in say a 'testing' environment, load times and generally accessing of the chars dir is slow.

Well here is the answer in select.def:

Code:
_StreetFighter/_Ryu's/AngelRyu/AngelRyu.def, random;----Angel Ryu
_StreetFighter/_Ryu's/GoD_Ryu/GoD_Ryu.def, random;------God Ryu
_StreetFighter/_Ryu's/Ryulvl2/Ryulvl2.def, random;------Ryu Lvl 2
_StreetFighter/_Ryu's/cvsryu/cvsryu.def, random---------Ryu
_StreetFighter/_Ryu's/Ryu/Ryu.def, random;--------------Ryu
_StreetFighter/_Ryu's/ryu-x/ryu-x.def, random;----------Ryu
_StreetFighter/_Ryu's/ryuDev/ryuDev.def, random;--------Ryu Dev

Where {_StreetFighter} is a main directory in the {chars/} directory. {_Ryu's} being a sub-directory under said "{_StreetFighter}" directory.

Code:
_MortalKombat/ReptileMO/ReptileMO.def, random;-------------Reptile
_MortalKombat/reptile/reptile.def, random;-----------------Reptile
_MortalKombat/RainMO/RainMO.def, random;-------------------Rain
_MortalKombat/RAIN/RAIN.def, random;-----------------------Rain
_MortalKombat/LIU_KANG/LIU_KANG.def, random;---------------Liu Kang
_MortalKombat/LiuKangMO/LiuKangMO.def, random;-------------Lui Kang
_MortalKombat/liukang/liukang.def, random;-----------------Lui Kang
_MortalKombat/baraka/baraka.def, random;-------------------Baraka
_MortalKombat/ERMAC/ERMAC.def, random;---------------------Ermac

ect....

The above is a small selection from my select.def file. You can toss any "grouped" characters into a directory of choice. I use _ and other symbols to name the main DIR's under the "chars/" as they will list first in a directory.

The character name (.def) and main folder of said character have to be the same...

Of course also, ", random" could be substituted with a "stage/stage-name.def".

I am sure someone has posted similar to this before....but I have yet to see it and discovered this when testing.

Sound Issues: ??!?!??!

I know I have witnessed more posts about this issue than anything else, minus chars/stage creation ect. This is what I have found to work the best....

Get all of the in_*.dll's you can...

The 'mugen.cfg' would look something like this:

Code:
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_aac.dll, acc
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_ac3.dll, ac3
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_adlib.dll, a2m, amd, bam, cff, cmf, d00, dfm, dmo, dro, dtm, hsc, hsp, imf, ksm, laa, lds, m, mad, mid, mkj, msc, mtk, rad, raw, rix, rol, s3m, sa2, sat, sci, sng, xad, xms, xsm
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_adx.dll, adx
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_ape.dll, ape
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_bass.dll, s3m, xm, mod, it, 669, psm, mtm, umx, mo3
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_cube.dll, adx
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_flac.dll, flac
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_midi.dll, mid, midi, rmi, kar, hmp, hmi, xmi, mss, mus, cmf, gmd, mids, miz, hmz
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_mp3.dll, mp3, mp2, mp1, mpg, aac, apl, vlb
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_mp3PRO.dll, mp3, mp2, mpg
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_mp4.dll, mp4, m4a
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_mpc.dll, mpc
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_mod.dll, mod, stm, s3m, it, xm, mtm, ult, 669, far, amf, okt, ptm
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_modplug.dll, 669, amf, ams, dbm, dsm, far, it, med, mdl, mod, mol, mtm, nst, okt, ptm, s3m, stm, ult, umx, wow, xm, wav ;(+ all these in zip/rar compression)
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_psf.dll, psf, minipsf, psf2, minipsf2, psflib, psf2lib
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_qsf.dll, qsf, miniqsf, qsflib
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_shn.dll, shn
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_snes.dll, spc, sp1, sp2, sp3, sp4, sp5, sp6, sp7, sp8, sp9, sp0
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_umx.dll, umx
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_usf.dll, usf, miniusf
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_vorbis.dll, ogg
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_wav.dll, wav
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_wave.dll, wav, voc, au, snd, aif, aiff, aifc, iff, svx, aud, vox
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_wm.dll, wma, wmv
plugin = looptype=1, plugins/in_ym.dll, gym, cym

I know this might be overkill, but it covers all the bases. The in_mp3.dll is commented out because it gives an error for msvcrt.dll or something similar and the other plugins will handle things anyway. I have yet to run in with an audio issue yet with this config and if I do there is always a 'back-up' solution.

Umm "mooooo"? and stuff....

I am relatively new to M.U.G.E.N. per say.

Don't know what else much to say.

I'm a Linux system administrator and run a web hosting business.

M.U.G.E.N. has occupied most of my time aside from working the last 3 weeks. What's odd is I might spend 5 - 10 min total a day actually playing as more time is spent customizing/tweaking, scanning the web and every other thing possible rather than testing characters.

On another note I am surprised by the lack of "wikis" in the M.U.G.E.N. communities.

My coding skills blow (minus the normal web stuff ;)...I may be able to pump out an original stage every now and then but characters created by me are a way off.

So 'hi' and things...
