Such weights of perception we put into simple phrases. What, one cannot be satisfied with consequential simple living without notability?

The transparency of this ruse approaches a standard ratio of amusement - thus entails a voiced desire for open communication upon this given continuity. Predict the future of this individual, preferably with your yet unused tarot set, and explain how predestination works with this entire idea of fortune-telling.

I'll talk with pkeffect (guy who does server stuff) on Friday - I'm rather busy and it might be a bit of a hassle again.
It's probably nothing big, and most likely just yet another bloody bug.

I briefly considered entering a direct war with MI and their database (like, which one could make the best database) to attract attention and actual bloody contributors to the wiki, once.
It never got off of the ground when I acquired the perspective to realize that most of the general affairs of these communities and the peoples within them are silly. Also that to improve my wiki by anything meaningful I'd have to work on it for several months straight.
(Also, wouldn't going back to war instill a lowered amount of nicities anyway?)

Also, have absolutely zero idea if Mugen Hispania had a database at any point, but all of the databases I listed beforehand were referred to me from somewhere beforehand, so if they had a database it didn't even get close to the other databases (at least 300 creations/fair coverage of basic creation types/categories or something).

Erm.
Mugen Samouczek, RandomSelect, Mugen Infantry, Mugen Wiki (probably could be counted as three separate entities), SNK Mugen, Shenron Mugen, Street/Sweet Mugen, Forum Pao de Mugen, Mugen Museum, Infinity Mugen Team, Mugen Guild (the really early one with "fateback" in the url), Calamix's Megaman/Kingdom Hearts database (Calamix Mugen), Girls, and Seravy's MugenDB.
Weird how I forgot Mugen Fury, MugenNation, and CVG United, but that's not much of a suprise when there are so bloody many of them. Quite a few are dead or essentially so (RS, SNKMugen, Guild.Fateback, Calamix, Girls, Fury, Nation), but that just further illustrates my point.

So the problem isn't having a database. It's having proper maintenance to it.
Yeah, without any constant thought and work into any databases they're redundant, taxing, and stupid.
christ I need to post about more or about anything besides bloody databases

Sorry, I meant valuable resources.
I don't mean the data. I mean "a database". Databases aren't valuable?
They would be valuable if they weren't decentralized link lists with few effective mechanisms for continuous updates on the Sissyphean (sic) task of equally or properly covering over 50000 creations.

As stands, they're riddled with bias and age, and to even begin to properly find anything of minor obscurity you'd have to check at least 6 sources of questionable worth (The three largest forums for release threads, MI's, mine, the mugen museum). Few people put much effort into thinking about their structure even as they build it, and few would even want to.

There's been historically about -MS, RS, MI, MW, SM, other SM, third SM, FPM, MM, IMT, MG, CM, G, MDB - fifteen of of any worth, and not a single one of them has had competent design behind it.

An actually worthwhile resources would be a collection of coding tips and tutorials, some actual analysis of trends and patterns, or even just a standard database that didn't outright suck for anybody besides the most casual of users by getting close to completeness or providing more information for any single topic then can be gathered from five bloody minutes of selective research.

Gaspeman I hate using the wii specifically because I can't do accents, people who have exhibited depressive traits in the past are now stricken with weltschermz (sic) and high senses of self-awareness in the present, while people with miserable senses of humor and observation continue to be terrible at basic discussion. Presses, eleven, blah blah blah.

Personally, I mostly rarely peruse this forum instead of any other simply due to its scale providing a wide variety of individuals who provide if not inciteful at least moderately interesting commentary, and the fact that it mostly lacks the gaping flaws based in the other communities. There's not much else that distinguishes this in the purgatory that is mugen/internet communities; it just doesn't suck as much or is too unactive compared to most other places because its scale encompassess both the good and the bad of most other places, right down to the alternatively(?) controversial and amusing staff mannerisms and shennanigans.
*returns to lurking*

Not directly naming any places in the very slim chance I ever get off my ass and do a little bit of diplomacy.

I'd say something about the exploits of Vriska's ancestor being crucial to her character and troll society or about how Hussie already has been seen doing incredulously perverted and silly things but I think I'm just going to stick with laughing at this being a Valentine's Day update, the reactions to it, and how well it represents what Hussie thinks of his readers.

i knew it i knew it i knew it aradia's ability to communicate with the dead and godtier-dream-penetration combined with the rarely-alluded to afterlife implied with jadesprite and one of the jade-feferi dreams would take the edge off of all of the troll deaths by removing them from the main story while still allowing the characters to serve and interaction with other characters because an afterlife is a central element of most creation stories as hussie said he was analyzing and it would be yet another mirroring of problem sleuth and it would yet another twist unexpected while still serving and not undermining the story after all of these deaths and and and and and and and and
(man, it's boring when there's so much callback detail material that nobody talks about because all of the large groups talk over themselves rather then narrowing down on the possibilities.)

Infinite recursion's one of these easiest concepts to abuse, you need detail to avoid the dissolution of whichever medium you've put it in. Once you reach recursive recursion then you've already wrapped your mind around the whole concept. Do people get dizzy in-between multiple mirrors?

I hate this sort of term for how weak it implies the mind is, or can be, or was, as well as how it demeans any particularly complicated system of logic.
Nonetheless, for all of the wonderful brief , there's something to be said once you put interaction into the mix...

"How does it follow the theme [of Bare Minimum]?"
"To hell with graphics, physics, AI, interaction and all that videogamey crap."

"...is a game about becoming god."

"not even the author is sure where the game ends."

"...attempts... to approximate the transitory experience of a dream..."

"…you’ve baffled me. I can usually drag some semblance of sense from your ‘games’, but this…"

Heh, "art games". Entire profiles of work...
Everybody's seen Eversion and the Mondo series already.
At the very least, they made me pause, and obtuse or particularly strong symbolism takes a while to absorb, but whatever, people will get off what they get off...

Well, for whatever reason, registration and lack of activity for most of 2009 made a couple of people willing and ready to go help Shamrock when he started his wiki, and while they don't strive for daily updates as I do it's still assistance I rarely get.
In fact, the openness seems to actually hamper people, as anybody could possibly walk in and fix things or screw them up and thus "why should I" settles in; when crap stays static for just too long enough a few people start trying to fix things (said shamrock example, the Mugen Infantry database fix-up thread).
At most, besides some psychotic edit requirements for viewing, bullshit honor/privileges/e-penis system, or shoving in politics and power with random responsibilities rather then guilt-tripping or aspiring for an actually all-encompassing resource, it could work with a little bit more famousness into an advertising vehicle. So far, besides a few brief and small edits or incomplete efforts by quite a few, I've only managed to attract the bottom of the barrel, though. The Karin-san edit first appeared spamming my announcement system, MugenToons flickered about not even understanding alphabetization, and I've already had at least one crappy flash series full game wip littered about.
Could also discuss specific wiki practice standards, but it'd only slow down the already insane task of just getting the damn information in already. Probably could garner some interest, but I'd have to clean-up a lot of dust and skeletons before standards could be established and put into place, a large enough effort that most would drop out.
Man, listing 8000+ creations works against me more then it helps.
Despite there being a brickton of "news reporters" that fill up even dead forums, none are interested. Could ally and partner, but too many want to stand on their own rather then assist.
Sigh.

Man, it sometimes gets irritating when creators wait for themselves to be added into a wiki.
(The fact that I just added Rominucka's stages just now is completely coincidental, my to-do list is massive and absurd.)
The wiki at hand could use quite a few description re-writes, probably shouldn't be organizing by categories alone (exposes the lack of content, doesn't help that much for searching), and should probably search up a lot more about a creation before putting up scarce information (Abyss, Kirby, Meta-Knight, etc). The pages absorbing multiple variations of a character at once is a nice idea when there are three or four versions, but, oh boy, Ryu, Ken, Akuma, and Megaman pages alone, plus any even remotely popular series can have five to ten versions, and the minimal amount of information displayed for mugen versions wouldn't help actually distinguishing any of them.
The fact that there are multiple wikis doesn't faze me that much not that anybody but me works for more then five edits on my wiki, as in almost any larger enough fandom/whatever there's always one malnourished wiki and one reliable, heavy one, and when it comes to Mugen it's also nice to have yet more databases because we obviously don't have enough of them. Obviously. At all.
spaces. Wait, why isn't there a sticky with all of the damn databases already? It took too long to do this.

Advocate previously noted Rhythm Heaven/Tengoku (latter more the former) and Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan.
Former for the whole lack of abstraction, latter for better look at note mapping.
Would advocate Parappa and ilk's promotion of better takes on music, but haven't played it.
Of course, there's also Reset.

Well, with my wiki, this wiki, the Elecbyte wiki, and the useless warehouse and Wikia ones as early google results, not to forget Seravy's database, it's not surprising any real effort is absurdly split and few collective results can be found.

Also, considering that even the meager database efforts alone are split up into Infantry and Infinity (and SweetMugen), along with foreign efforts always creating their own language databases (Samouczek, Shenron, mugen.weboy, mugenchara) and any shoot-off tiny forum trying to create their own, the pure community schisms for hits and convenience amongst those that'd even work on such resources kinda stop collective attempts in their tracks.

Hitting up dead databases to get their old results (sorry Fury, SNKMugen), also another obstacle, and having to check release forums instead of "news reporters" just contributing to the wikis themselves (a slight glare in Mugen China's, Infinity's and Wolfmage's direction), yet another.

Actual solutions, repentance instead of apologies over how hard this shit is, though...

it's sad it took all the efforts to create this new wiki for the older wiki to resurrect and fix long assed registration troubles :/
Actually, that was me getting off my ass to get the quasi-missing main programmer-admin guy to get another guy to fix long-assed registration troubles, heh. Was lurking around, getting distracted by other fields and school, a little dissonance with the operations of another wiki... and now I'm fighting off spam bots and being overwhelmed instead of doing anything.

Good to see something being done in my absence, bad to see such an approach...
and a shame I've been diverted for various reasons, and what's happened in mugen for quite a while making this sort of effort even harder.
Don't mind me. I'm just looking around, saying unparsable incoherent nonsense, and will be able to discuss the old wiki and this wiki in about, say, a week or two.
Just gotta secure something things first.
