Has there ever been a Children of the Atom Akuma made for MUGEN?  I'm watching footage of him and I'm suddenly struck with this, as he was done very oddly there(I recall hearing he was the test for the system, or something like that).

Hmm.  Seems I've asked this before.  Here's another one: Anything from War of the Gems?

But it was here that said weapons shouldn't have collision.  So people are saying two different things.  Explain.

can't say the same for the collision boxes....

this was the first red flag

still testing, more detailed feedback later.

Why is that a red flag?  It matches where the sword is striking, and it's a weapon, so there should be no collision.  Since I'm always trying to learn, where's the red flag here?

I'm likely talking out of my ass here, but the damage Karai is capable of via light punch strings doesn't mesh with what I've seen.  7 hits(Before the first stun knockdown) is doing 721.  The footage I've seen does 50%-60%.

Maybe I've missed something.

Not that she's unbeatable or anything, although using a Hokuto no Ken character is probably cheating in the first place.

Minor point; the stages by default have their volume set to zero.  Seems odd to mute it, especially when the file doesn't have the music set up by default.  It's nit-picky, I guess.

In a real sense, it's about time.

MUGEN started as a shoot-em-up engine, where that kind of interactivity is expected.  Putting that sort of thing back can be said to have taken entirely too long.

All he really needs/wants is a throw.  Or a high/low.  X to Down-Z for instance.

Currently, in my own view, he ain't fun even with him being custom.  Too limited, few options, especially vs block.  No throw is not right at all.  His combos are fast, but very specific-things you'd expect to chain aren't possible even with his attacks being fast.  If he's going to hit so lightly he needs to be looser than he is in terms of attack chaining.

Han shouldn't be flickering during Medium/Fierce/Super Han Maximum-in source he goes pure red and only turns normal when he hits ground.

Spinning Slasher....has he been studying with Serena or Katrina?  That's their trick.

Then again, Super Han Finale looks like he's been studying with the Sky Warrior.

His throws, Han Hyper and Han Victory(Butting them with the sword and a toss straight up) aren't present.

His tackle, 'Han Dynamite' isn't present.

In source, Han had control after Han Finale-a fairly standard thing was Han Finale into Han Maximum.

Air combo doesn't allow for Han Maximum either.

Han Special auto-combo is...half present.  The first two hits chain into the sword slash, but it doesn't go on past that.  Why?

Fireballs don't die over time as they did in source.

Down-X feels stiff.  It's easier to chain Down-Z into itself than Down-X.

He actually feels a lot LESS loose in terms of comboing than he was in Guardian Heroes.  Which is odd, given I presume his damage is meant to be low for the sake of his comboing.  Except he has neither strength nor combos now.

Wrong area.

You want the part marked 'MUGEN 1.0'.  In there are patch files for all his standard characters to make them work.  Now, because the download links there that take you to skydrive don't allow you to access that area directly, navigate to 'Kaz's skydrive', then '公開', then 'MUGEN 1.0'.

Not true.  Annoyingly, you need to download not just the baseline characters, but their 1.0 patches, which are in a separate part of the Skydrive, marked as 1.0.

...Avalon does seem to still be busted, though.  What's annoying is MUGEN's error message in this case does not give a reason WHY, as it would with characters.

Cyclone Kick and Optic Sweep aren't working currently.

Some MVC, some SF3, some EX series(Guile's the most obvious having Guard Break and Excel, but Ken has Kuzuryu-Reppa as a Fatal or Level 3(I forget which), which only existed in EX2 and 3).

As his own screenshots and some of the text notes, some of them are just plain weird.  Do not go in expecting balance: it doesn't exist.(Sometimes that's half the 'fun'.  Sucks if you fight them though.)  I expect similar shenanigans from Cyclops somehow, someway.

Here's hoping Magneto's Avalon, included with Magneto, works now(It worked previously, but a previous update seemed to break it).

Attempting to correct characters for MUGEN 1.0/1.1

Hopefully this is in the right area.

The characters in question are four Valkyrie Profile characters found here:

http://reikyuunakimono.seesaa.net/

All four are non-functional in MUGEN 1.0.  The issue in each of them is(or seems to be, according to the error) the coding for Auto Item.  It uses an Elem I don't even remember and MUGEN does not recognise-TagIn.  With no frame of reference, I can't act.  I don't know whether commenting it out would fix it or make it worse.  Maybe someone remembers or has an idea where to start?

EDIT: Commenting the references out worked.  For the record, they're both in the .CMD and the .CNS.

Having a knock-up(C) isn't useful if she can't follow it up.  At the minute she can't-she has no 'pursuit' and only a single jump where in the base game he had a double-jump or at least a high jump.  Oh, and it's recoverable so waiting for them to come down to the right height isn't a thing either.  Not that she can do much to them in the air anyway.

Control layout seems awkward to me.  Her classic combo is Y,A,B?  It feels like her moves are spread out when they don't need to be so much.

Bolt Slide...a SLIDE...counts as Mid?

Her Down+X ALSO counts as a Mid?

Her explosive Arrow is also a Mid.  It's also inaccurate in that it tracked to the opponent's feet in source where it doesn't here.  Of course, there it was also unblockable.  Given the slow speed of the bow attacks, I can't feel it's unfair.  Alternatively you could speed up the bow attacks.

So she basically has no Low attacks whatsoever.

Infinite Spear is very, very spammable.  it's basically her go-to move for all situations.

If wings are still out on death, then they stay on screen after she's gone.

There's a reason there's an 'Old Emperor' download: the new one is a deep change of his mechanics.  He's in line with Jehct(Even has strikers now: Golbez, Ultimecia and Jecht himself) but feels funky.  Some buffs, some nerfs some new moves and changes to his old ones.

Not the case.  Certainly I ain't seen King Lion/King Leo's stage for either Savage Reign or Kizuna Encounter anyplace.

Hmm.  Interesting to use the SNES over the Genesis/32X/PC variant.  Personal preference or something more?  Mostly just curious.
