you could use mugen fighting jam screen pack its comes with 500 slots
That's a good screenpack too..Though i don't like the Lifebars that come with it..
yeah those lifebars arent that great i changed it to sf3 third strike life bars

its already on stretch=1, and my computer is always set to 32 bit colour and so i have no idea why is still doesnt work but if it works fulscreen on 320x240 then its fine for me then because it still goes fullscreen with no problem on that resolution

how many slots does that screen pack come with? and if you want more slots try downloading other screen packs other than that you i dont know any other ways to add more slots

It could be because either your computer isn't set to 32 bits or the Color Depth isn't right?:
[mcode] ;This is the color depth at which to run MUGEN. You should set it to
;16 bit color unless your video card has problems with it.
;16-fastest, 24,32-slower, 8-slowest/worst
Depth = 16[/mcode]
I've tried changing that, but fullscreen works when the resolution is set to 320x240 but wont work at any other resolution is this normal ???

It could be that mugen is lagging when it loads that stage ??? , ive had it happen before, but try minimizing it after you pause it and keep doing that until it stops lagging if that doesnt work it could be your computer
