I see...well...I think I'll cancel the project...and quit mugen...the harsh criticism was hardly helpful...my character has been drawn by someone else which is prolly the most harsh thing I can see...if this is the mugen community then I don't want to be a part of it...I'm sure you won't miss me considering the posts so I only ask that someone SPARE me and delete the topic.

I'm very very open to suggestions if anyone has em....just keep in mind I am VERY new to spriting but I just want to make my....childhood....character (you know the one that you have to tone down cause they can kick anyone's butt)

She looks crippled in the pelvic area, anerexic everywhere else, and obviously intentionally misproportioned.

Hand coloring is nice, but is difficult to make look good with animated sprites. I suggest you color it with a computer, or use a program like photoshop to blur your current coloring so it blends with other sprites in the animations.

I disagree, I love the way I draw and if you were reading my first post.....which NO ONE READS ANYTHING ANYMORE btw.....

I was intentionally trying to make it stay like a hand drawn sprite....with hardly any touch ups....

Interesting criticism about the pelvic area (one of my trouble spots when it comes to drawing women)

I might redraw the sprite, I might not, either way it'll be if I have time....

Ok let me tell you my situation, cause I'm lost.....first off I am a noob at making characters (I can code however, everything but throws which I'll need help in...)

I just scanned my first sprite into the comp and I have it in GIMP right now, I'm wondering now how do I prep this sprite for mugen using GIMP, for instance, how do I make a color 0 background for it, how to make it so the shading I used for the skin doesn't go transparent (I'll try to explain, the last time I prepped this and put it in my sff file I made it go transparent and the background was still there and all the shine of the skin that was white went transparent too.....)

Please bear with me as I'm new at spriting and new at using the GIMP program.
All who help me will get my character as thanks, since my character is private. I only ask that you don't use the sprites for anything else (which you prolly won't cause I want them to stay looking hand drawn and hardly any touch ups).

He is one of most creative characters ever :P I lulz at intros especially one with fusion and when he is lyiong on ground and turn into OMFG SSJ ROX !!!!!!1111  :sugoi: Also that thing on SGS when screen goes black & white was ridicoulus :P

However I planning delete him because I don't like cheap characters. I tested him only for lulz :D

I totally agree with the last sentence, that guy is only useful if you have Omega Goenitz and even he might not be enough for Rare.

That Tifa is by Kamui-UMA (or thats what it says in the def). It's missing some CLSN though, but if I figure out how I'm going to fix it. And Gicane, I have a feeling the character is from Metal & Lace. I downloaded the game to check, but I can't get it to work. Something about it not running in full screen. Since you've piqued my interest, I'll look for him (it?) too.

EDIT: Definitely from Metal & Lace. Just saw a vid on youtube showing it. Hopefully I can find a download link.

Assert failure in spr-lib.c line 560

Only happens with these characters and only happens when they are at peak jump when their opponent does a hyper....

It's not the pal.defaults cause the failure would be: Assert failure in charsel.c line 5160
I tried dos2win but didn't work......

Anyone else got any suggestions?

Ok....

I have tried EVERYTHING to fix this error, made sure that pal.defaults is in def file, made sure that sprites didn't have doubles, made sure that there was nothing wrong in cns or air files, made sure that they were converted with the dos2win.exe....

This only happens when I play P.o.t.S or Mr. Fong characters (which happen to be the BEST out there)...

For the love of MERCY!!!!

....sorry.....I just want this error fixed somehow....if ANYONE knows a way to fix this, please help me cause I'm drowning in wasted time trying to fix these characters.....

I just played all three, and they are awful. They are slow, controls are choppy and sloppy, and the way they are laid out is terrible. I can't imagine playing these characters seriously with the way they control, like some kind of heavily watered down Guilty Gear characters. They may be "pretty" looking characters, but their gameplay is not very good.

I'm afraid I SERIOUSLY agree.....if you look in their CMD it's like the creator was TRYING to confuse the players lol

In your definitions file of the character folder there should be a line that says:
pal.defaults = (then you put a number of the pallette you want)

If this is missing, you get that error

Ok I looked through all of the sprites of Gouki and didn't find any duplicates of the jump animations (which is causing the failure) and didn't find any....there has got to be another way this can be fixed! I literally tried to fix this for at least a year....It's getting so that I might replace the characters that cause the error (namely Shin Gouki and Ryu)

Mr. Fongs characters do the same thing as well....there has gotta be an easy fix to this....

I tried asking P.o.t.S but....no response....
