I have time to mugen today, yay.
Hate to be "that guy" but I'm going to point out a handful of things.

- Attack = A on recovery, making for a odd counter hit scheme against him.
- Liedown time too long.
- Grab invincibility from liedown uses the mugen default which is too long.
- So little pushback on hits.
- Why do chains take less damage than stray hits on some occasion?
- Meter gain is difficult without special moves.
- No recovery for charging, allowing a "charge walk" (why regular walk). :P
- Roll should not be invincible towards the end (when movement stops).
- So many crossups (not a "flaw" per say, but definitely odd).

Some things I just know, others don't "feel right" (which if I go back and do some more research, will probably explain why.)

As someone who researches the nuances of mechanics and puts a strong standard on the bearing of these mechanics, I can accept that this isn't what I'm looking for (as with most things). I know, but "mugen and we're not professionals and stuff." That's true and all, but that doesn't negate the right for people to have strict preferences in regards to characters.

Continue doing you (I'm not being a smartass); people here like your characters and you shouldn't let a few detractors discourage you. I also understand that not everyone has access to the tools to make characters a particular way (although the entry to that aspect is daunting, it's not that bad once you get the hang of it). That said, rude as criticism can sound, perspectives don't become any less valid because of such (within reason of course).

- That's because with chain combos the scaling is different. I did this for dampener purposes. But if you take the chains off he does normal damage
- Meter is fine to me as this is the same way I do it and Infinite does as well

His garou effects do seem a little off putting and out of place in him but if you really like the idea of having them in then that would just be a matter of preference for users, as far as his speed he does play noticeably slower than other characters of this style but faster than other incarnations of the character obviously to fit with the pots/infinite style game play system. For those who aren't fans of this style of game play griffon isn't going to win any of them over but he fits in well with the other characters made in this style so there's really nothing to complain about him style wise

If its the chain speed I mean I can make him slower in general. But to me he just feels fine as is. Doesn't  mean I'm not open to things.

I used GM's Tizoc, the most accurate Tizoc in mugen as a base to make this one. So most of his attacks use accurate timings and stuff and some it was changed so he would fit this style of gameplay

The FX on Daedalus Attack is what he already had and I felt like if I left it out it wouldn't fit him. It looked pretty cool to me though. But I always stress I don't aim for accurancy on everything about a character.

He still feels like Tizoc to me, but with some changes to make it so that his moves can chain from normal attack to special and etc. But I could make him slower if that is such an issue. But he still feels fine to me tho.

Don't take him down. There are more comments about people liking him than ppl that have issues with something about him (that doesn't mean they dislike him either in all cases)

Keep him up for people that are having fun with him. Otherwise it does look bad. You're punishing the ppl that like him cause a few users said he had faults. That feels wrong to me.


I didn't take him down, I was just saying that Maybe I should take him down only to correct him. I would't do people like that

You do have a point but when you think tizoc represents Mexican school of wrestling his sped makes sense, he's faster than zangief but does not give so much damage on the other hand so it should be fine right?

My point exactly. I did slow him down. If you go look at his pause times I made him slower than most normal characters.

I see a lot of comments of people saying that he is too fast but as I remember this guy was faster than zangief and not as strong.

I guess how he is now does not fit what some of you guys like so it looks like I don't know what I'm doing.

Dude where have you been all this time when people have pointed out bugs and I go right in and fix them asap cus I'm pretty sure I been doing that for awhile. All the updates can testify to that.

And don't say I'm explosive about my work cus that's not true. I don;t mind feedback at all, and many of the fans of my work can tell you, I do listen to some of the stuff said when bugs are found and I go right in and fix them.

That last comment you said isn't true and was so not needed, as I feel like you chimed in cus everyone else was expressing their opinions as well. I have never not once ever snapped on you or anything, so I don't even know why you would say that about me.

Vans can code a real person if he wants (?) No kidding, you're wrong eliott, he can do the same. I don't want to offense R@CE, but he should listen to what Vans has to say. This characters doesn't work like Tizoc, and I know all the lines about custom stuff and bla bla bla, but this just doesn't play right.

And what did Vans actually say that would help me other than "It's not his cup of tea" Hold on I'll wait.....

Thanks dampir! Those are actually his sparks that he had on Garou when he hits hits opponents with that super move. I put the effect on there to show off the power pressure it does once he hits you will it. Its how they did it from source, I just changed it to emit a little different.


Wasn't expecting this one, pure awesome. Will test shortly. Also, at the end of the day critic's will have there spoil. Just remember what makes you happy and keep it rocking man. I like your style and it's solid fun. Just another one of your fan's.lol

Thanks man I like it too, but it seems like I don't know what I'm doing. I try my hardest to make things play good, but as always not everyone will like what your doing.


Well anyway guys, I didn't expect all of this about one character. I mean most of what I hear seems to be about his chain speed and such. I do feel that most of this could have been addressed in like 2 or 3 sentences but of course that's just me tho.

Since Griffon is so bad to people and he doesn't feel like Griffon, then I guess I will just have to take him down and release him again when he's all locked and loaded.

Infinite made an edit of Kula quite a long time ago he had original moves and if I recall his FX were Hi-res by him (I may be wrong)

Yea he did but please don't just copy off of what he did. The Kula infinite did has more exaggeration to fit a versus like style like mvc does with its characters. Use reference from what a real Kula really plays like.

About K', it's not that I wanted to be the only one to make him, or be the first.
True, it's was a bit annoying for me that suddenly Memo, Shin Mako and R@CE wanted to make K' as well,

I don't follow what other people do.. I do what I do because I want to and most importantly because I like it.  If anything I got people trying to do things that I already have done years ago

It never came to me like "OH NEW K SPRITES!" NOW I WANT TO DO A K TOO!" K' was already on my list for the CVS 3 screenpack. but this would've been down the line, and with the old sprites that dampir did. Not the new.

So, i don't even know why my name was even mentioned in that comment. My final thought on this too is, sometimes you gotta forget what other people are doing and just do what you want to do. Dont' worry about what everyone else is doing, worry about what your doing.

You are not describing links you are describing cancels.

Finally, this Rasetsumaru is not going to land enough hits in a combo which you're not even guaranteed to consistently perform on someone in the first place so I strongly doubt the stipulation will be worth cutting yourself.

Dude I know what I'm describing.  Call it whatever you want to call it, the point is that he can still go from a normal attack to a special move and then to a supermove which allows it to have use.

And no he's not guaranteed to continue to do more cancels or whatever on his opponents but that is the risk you take. Doing this move period is taking a risk already. Even without it, you could cut yourself which would take your health but then some one could keep coming at you and not give you a chance to do whatever it is you were going to do to them after you just cut yourself

Him cutting himself and getting the additional damage during the (cancel/links or whatever you want to call it) is the risk you take when using that move regardless. Its a sacrifice that you control, hence the damage that is dealt out even it out. Its up to you to decided when to use it.

But like I said, he could change the stipulation to whatever he wants but the general coding of the rest still has use.

No i never said it wasn't a good idea. The basis of the coding could help him get things started. What I said what is that he doesn't have to use the stipulation if he does not want to. Plus it not only works with chain combos it works with links too.  And I know his character has links on it, especially with him being able to go from a normal hit to a special move to a super move on certain attacks.

So it still has some use to his haohmaru if he did want to go that route and use it.
