Don't worry the rasta Bionic Commando game bombed like you wouldn't believe. We'll never hear of it again. Until a few years from now when people online suddenly start claiming how much they love it and what a cult classic it was. I'm looking at you, God Hand. lol

It's real, but PlanetXbox360 probably doesn't know shit. Don't believe anything they have to say for a second. You will probably be massively disappointed.

The only source I trust on this is the guy who leaked SSF4 with the additional roster, both old and new characters, who is also leaking this.

So as of right now, the only thing I believe to be true is what he has said about this game: that MvC3 was announced at Captivate, is currently news media embargoed until Monday, and that a new Resident Evil character is in the game.

He hasn't said shit about returning characters, character amount, graphics, gameplay, what systems it's going to be on, you name it.

We could actually learn about this game as soon as three more hours, at 12 am PST.

Titiln is correct. You did complain to the wrong person because I couldn't give two shits about Chaos Legion and would like all failed games and their characters to stay the fuck away.

Anyway... Hey uninformed retard asshole, that sure stopped Capcom from putting Strider, a character Capcom doesn't fully own for shit in Marvel vs. Capcom 1 and 2.

Adurrrrrr. Aduuuuuuy. Glug glug glug. LA LA LA LA LA!!! ME SMART!!!

@Heavy Dee Jay Why is it that people like you can't suspend any god damn disbelief when it comes to characters being in games like this? Who cares if someone wasn't super uber powerful in their game of origin. Somehow this game will give them a big fucking laser and make it work.

Were people like this when X-Men vs. Street Fighter was first announced? I know I wasn't.

@TempesT You heard me. Chris be hittin' that prostate. lol

@Titiln Actually, no joke... I thought it could be interesting if Chris and Sheva would count as one character and could be used at the same time like Ice Climbers. Uh, you know... 'cause like... you use them at the same time in their game and junk...

It's true. It's true.

I am actually in big homosexual gay same-sex love with the producer. He has done ALL he can to take a big fat stinky shit all over the internet and the stupid crap that they have been begging for.

He took a shit on Speed Racer being in the game.
He took a shit on Samurai Pizza Cats being in the game.
He took a shit on Phoenix Wright being in the game. (With a joke that 90 percent of the internet has yet to catch on to!)

What's left? MMX Zero? Gene? Amaterasu? Oh man, that would be so hot.

Hold up everyone, that last little announcement might not be true after all:

Quote
As a bit of bad news (or at least "wait and see" news) the info in yesterday's press release that mentioned an online mode and five new characters for Europe and North America is incorrect. That doesn't mean that it won't happen, but Capcom isn't committing to those claims as of yet. I can't really blame them though either. I don't see this game selling too well (Tatsunoku?) so pouring more money into localization and further development is a lot to ask for a game that's purely a love letter to the hardcore.

http://wii.ign.com/articles/991/991253p1.html

*gulp*  And I was so excited for that, too.

I wouldn't worry about it. There are some clues here and there online that Capcom made a huge mistake and accidentally let a huge cat out of the bag. I blame it on bad communication and confusion during a big event like E3. Who knows.

For example, check out what Chris Kramer of Capcom said in this interview on the day that 'fake' press release went out. http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=63093

said:
WP: We know the game is on the show floor, but will the full game have any missing or cut characters when compared to the Japanese version? Or were you able to preserve that?

CK: There will actually be characters in the U.S. — what we call the "newer" version of Tatsunoko, which is called Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars. There will be new characters for this game. We are adding some new characters, we're adding some new stages, we're adding a bunch of new features that were not in the Japanese release that came out in December, so for those who might have imported the game or might have read about the game back at the end of 2008, there will be stuff that's being added that we think are going to be pretty attractive for North American gamers.

Online isn't confirmed in this interview, but apparently new characters are. I'm surprised that interview hasn't been wiped from ever existing yet.

I fail to see how not being an over-used protagonist makes a character third-rate.  I'm entitled to my own opinion, and in my opinion I think that when you compare her to the likes of a rock star zombie, a jiangshi with an unlimited arsenal of hidden weapons, or a werewolf that fights with nunchucks, a succubus who only ever does exactly what a traditional succubus is said to do isn't interesting in the slightest.
Then you should think about it harder. As cool as you may think L. Raptor, Hsien-Ko and J. Talbain may be, they will usually never get one over on Morrigan's place and popularity. There is a reason why she's so overused, why she's in so many games, and most importantly why she's on so many pieces of official merchandise: The bitch sells and makes money.

Quote
First of all, I hardly think you're qualified to speak for the entire TvC team to say that they "clearly don't give a shit about them."  Second, you don't have to be a furry to like something with a cat in it.  The reason I said Speed Racer and SPC are likely to make it in is because those are the most widely known Tatsunoko-owned properties outside of Japan.  It makes sense that, given that Tatsunoko isn't that well known in the states, that they would add recognizable characters to get people interested.
Even though I certainly am not a member of the TvC team, I certainly did see the list of unused characters that they put out there and that Speed Racer nor Samurai Pizza Cats were anywhere near that list. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that these characters were clearly on nobody's radar. Speed Racer, I already gave him a free pass so whatever, but Samurai Pizza Cats? Please.

Oh, and as far as most widely known Tatsunoko-owned properties outside of Japan... Gatchaman/G-Force/Eagle Riders/Battle of the Planets/BoomBoomCacaDooDoo would all love to hi to you, but they're already in the game. Yay for them. Quite frankly, everyone should just put the wishlists away and say hello to Joe the Condor (Gatchaman), Yatterman-2 and if you're lucky... maybe someone like Speed Racer or The SoulTaker.

You know what? While I'm here, let me just put it out there that Samurai Pizza Cats is co-owned by Tatsunoko and one of Namco Bandai's billion subsidaries and is/was licensed here through Saban who is now owned by our lord almighty, Disney. It's just not going to happen. For the same reason J. J. from Zillion (who actually IS on that list) isn't going to happen. Zillion is co-owned with Sega.

Quote
]Just because you don't play a game doesn't mean that no one else does.  You do not represent the population at large.  All three of those games I mentioned are actually very popular, well reviewed, and huge sellers.  Not to mention the fact that the final boss from Okami is already in TvC.
Yeah, the gigantic shape-shifting blob of pure evil and not everyone's precious quadruped protagonist, Ammy-chan. Way to go Okami!

Very popular amongst whom? The handful of people who actually bought them? Sure, they might be well reviewed here and there, but a pleasant review doesn't equal sales.

Let's check out some of these blockbuster sales! Zack & Wiki only sold 25,266 in the US. A tragic bomb. In fact, here's an article featuring Capcom US employee and internet celebrity Christian Svensson complaining about Zack & Wiki and Okami's shitty Wii sales. http://www.nintendoeverything.com/?p=10513 Okami for Wii sold 35,252 units, a "moderate success" according to Svensson.

Now let's take a look at Phoenix Wright's sales! The first game moved 5,315 in the US, the second then shot up to 18,129, this burst in sales was most likely from internet and magazine propaganda because sales for the third installment in the series shot right back to a deserved 7,848. If there is a 'fighting lawyer' slot to fill up, then that should be awarded to Apollo Justice, whose game somehow managed to move 33, 318 in the US.

But even then that move would be silly when you see what sales Capcom actually crows about. Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition moved 70,172 in the US and Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles moved 76,535. Umbrella Chronicles is getting a sequel. Where's Zack & Wiki 2 and Okami 2? Probably in the same place where Godhand 2 is at.

Anyway, since we already put away the Tatsunoko wishlists, let's all do the same for Capcom. SF4, RE4 or RE5, and maybe DMC representation to attract more than just the handful of losers who want characters from the games no one bought. If there is any Capcom representation from games that aren't current financial hits, then let it be someone with a more respectable legacy like Arthur.

GAH!! I was already kinda bummed that she got didn't get picked, but I assumed that was because Capcom went straight to Morrigan without considering the other Darkstalkers characters, like usual.  But to hear that she was under consideration, and they consciously decided against using her?   :bigcry:
She's cool, but what a lot of people fail to see is that Morrigan is in because she is the god damn heroine of her series, obscenely popular and sexy as hell to boot. Second and Third rate characters from a series like Darkstalkers will usually be overlooked until this slot is filled. If you're lucky, maybe she'll show up at some point.

I notice that SPC and Speed Racer characters weren't on that list though.  I'm going to maintain my assumption that those two are going to get a character for the NA release.  Racer X would be awesome.
They weren't on that list because the staff clearly don't give a shit about them. I will give Speed Racer a pass because he has been a legitimate international pop culture icon for a billion years, but I really don't get the whole Samurai Pizza Cats thing. Is this one of those typical internet 'I saw that once or twice as a child and my childhood is the most important thing that ever happened in the history of the planet' things? Either that or its the same reason people suck on J. Talbain's (who's also high on everyone's TvC wishlists) cock all day long... because evidently everyone is a furry.

Capcom side, I'm expecting more SF/DS characters.  Although I'd like to see Phoenix Wright, Amaterasu, or Zack from Zack and Wiki.  A Resident Evil or Devil May Cry character would be cool too.
C. Viper is cool. She should be in and they should slap her right on the box cover so people can think 'Street Fighter IV' when they see this game. You know, a game that actually sold more than ten copies (Okami, Zack and Wiki) and has characters people actually care about compared to a game that is only appreciated by those same ten people and their online friends on the internet. (Phoenix Wright) It's pretty cool how you used series people actually care and pay good money for (Resident Evil, Devil May Cry) as an afterthought to the ones you mentioned before!

What is wrong with the japs and their KDush?
Maybe they'll start getting it right after you stop saying 'japs'.

Anyway, I'm not excited about THAT version of Mai being in KOF12. Quite frankly, she has much too small breasts! (Now before anyone says 'But that's just some character art!' please look at chubby schoolgirl Athena and massive 'roid junkies Ralf and Clark's art and then look at them in the game.) I don't know about you, but I like my Mai with BIG PENDULOUS BREASTS!!

What a shame that the potential first HD 2D Mai will have a significant breast reduction!

Time for some of you guys to whip out those razor blades! An interview with 4GAMER about the upcoming Wii version posted a couple of days ago revealed that ALL of the characters that we have seen so far is IT. No more. No mas. Final roster.

No Ammy! No Phoenix Wright! No Speedy! No Speed Racer! No Geno! No Krystal!

Oh, source link: http://www.4gamer.net/games/074/G007468/20081204026/ First question asked.

Translation of the first question and answer:

Question:
When speaking of fighting games, since you can't (do something) without asking about hidden characters. How is that part of the game?

Answer:
This time we've got all characters available. Since we wanted to put a bang of all characters on the package, they're all available with nobody hidden. (LOL) There won't be any character grudges.

What up, noobs!

That ball is none other the villanous Yami from Okami! It has three different forms that you fight through!

Here it as seen on Okami!

Here's a better screenshot from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom that has surfaced. I could even see enough of the name to google it and make sure that's who it was!

Here's Doronjo's ending, a.k.a. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom's true canon ending!

I love rumors.

So over at 2ch, they're talking about how some of the animated sequences of the game were leaked somehow and they saw Mifune Go/Speed Racer as an active participant in the storyline. No sign of any other extra CAPCOM-side characters, yet.

Let's wait and see if there's any truth to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen,

Oh who am I kidding! There aren't any ladies here! lol lol lol ;)

The 22 characters we have seen are now the OFFICIAL MAIN ROSTER!!!

Japanese news sites were reporting that this was the planned box-art for the game: http://www.gpara.com/pickupnews/news/081104_capcom/16.php

Well, it's official! Retailers are now starting to put up the box-art with all the appropriate logos and such: http://thumbnail.image.rakuten.co.jp/s/?@0_mall/book/cabinet/4976/4976219026352.jpg At first, I was going to praise this box-art because it showed what I thought was all the default characters to the customer... but then I noticed a horrible outrage! Doronjo and her two buddies are completely covered by the main game logo! lol

Ah well... at least it can be a pleasant surprise for the casual customers... or perhaps there will be a huge Doronjo in the back of the box? ;)
