Because, I don't know about you, but I came from a time when none of it mattered too much, and now, we're fighting over something that's more or less irrelevant. As a result, we now have flocks of people giving move names for extremely specific attacks (check out Perfect Cell's wikia entry, most of it links to move names on significant strikes the good guys deal to him , i.e. Gohan http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Explosive_Demon_Impact)

If we wanted to dwelve further, perhaps it's the physics of Buu is what made it go through him. Otherwise, what would you call Goku's SSJ3 Kamehameha that basically goes through Buu on some if not all of its impact?  :shocked3:

It's based on days of the week not ice creams, SATURDAY CRUSH

WAT  :llama: ... how, or ... why. lol. What gave them that idea to do this . . . :bigcry:

... in hindsight I might've been thinking "Double Sundae" instead of "Sunday" ... hence where I got it wrong...  :S

To whoever codes this one handed energy ball/beam attack, do not draw the hand, put an explod/helper over where the hand should be in the form of an energy effect, so it can be ambiguous. :beam:

lol Atomic Blast, I forgot about that... oh man we're really going all the way here haha!!  :yippi:

So I went to dig out that particular bit in the anime, and indeed it is from the fingers. So indeed, I am wrong for not noticing that.

However, before the incarnation of the bullshit names that the Budokai games gave all the characters, didn't everyone just think it was a Big Bang Attack anyway? The blast he fired was more or less a ball, but so fast it moved like a ... beam.

Stand upright, hand out, boom. Every Mugen Vegeta has this as standard I thought.

As we're still banging on about the "M" ...

If you decide to troll everyone and add a "W" it works quite well. In Japan, "w" is basically their "lol" in MMORPGs or other text systems. :P

If you need a good "aura" idea, go play Hyper Dimension and perform Cell or Gohan's "charge up" animation. Both look incredibly cool.

People used to do that. Then it became an issue where people really got nothing better to say and it was discouraged :P

Aw man different conversations keep jumping back and forth here. So I don't want to revive any. Lets see who else does so next and I'll join in >:)

Although, I am curious in implementing the "aura" around the sprite. Can you share any methods/techniques (besides hand drawing, because I suck) at that? Currently I take a sprite, outline it and add 2-3 pixels around it to give it an aura look, but it's not animated. Animating it would seem like a bitch to do.

I presume you would have flash, but yeh, disable every addon/plugin (they're in 2 seperate categories) and then try.

What you want to do is to determine if a vanilla FF has the problem. I don't think it would be your PC.

Try the following:

1. What version of FF are you using? Latest?
2. Disable all addons, then load the page again and see if the problems occur.
3. For the e-mail thing, what e-mail service/client is it? Gmail?

Maybe you played an old version of the game , since you said there was just the church stage and no boss battle
the game doesn't look choppy in videos at all.

That is probable, seeing how some TGS 2012 videos had different footage and also fist weapons. Regardless, I'm only commenting/reviewing what I was given. I am not aware of all the builds/versions of the games shown elsewhere, since I payed little attention to it due to lack of interest.

However, I'm not sure if there's some/any tech in video processing that makes it all look smooth overall. I suppose in this case it's something you have to sit in front of to determine yourself. I don't care about the FPS overall as I cannot really see difference between 30 and 60, but it just didn't feel fluid like DMC4 was.

Of course this stuff is controversial, similar to people that speak passionately about 128kbs vs 320kbs vs FLAC music. Some just can't tell the difference, but in this case it's noticable for sure regarding the smoothness of the demo I played.

The boss battle "build" was on 2 stations to the right of me, but I wasn't paying attention to that. I only saw a bit of it in the crowd after it was announced with my friends we had to leave, so I didn't get an opportunity to try it.

*-*-*-*

And yeh, to be honest I've not really played DMC2. So me discounting it was a combination of:

- General acceptance that DMC2 didn't happen
- DMC2 doesn't exist/fanboy
- Capcom also ignoring DMC2
- And I've not actually played it properly. Only watched a friend played it

:P

I played the game today at the Eurogamer's Expo at London, here's my excerpt from my blog.
I've religiously played all 3 DMC games, but not to the point of creating massively crazy combos or take zero damage, but good enough to beat the DMD modes, if that means anything anymore:

Quote
I had the opportunity to play a demo build of the game today at London's "GamesCon" (Eurogames Expo) (infact it looks like a lot of things it's known as)

The game felt choppy/not smooth.

There is an evade button. It's like a small forward dash seen in Street Fighter 4. (L1 or R1). Unfortunately I didn't get much opportunity to use this, as I (as noted earlier) was too used to just using jump to avoid enemies.

The controls felt slightly choppy. For example I found it quite difficult to do this "glide forward" maneuver required for some platforming segments, and it'll probably not crucial for gameplay however, but it sometimes seem to fail to register the fact I performed this move.

There is no lock on as seen in the previous 3 games. While testing I found myself sometimes accidently pushing the directional stick slightly the wrong way and I'll go after another mob (2nd reason I found it a bit choppy)

In some cutscenes, whether it's because the model is beta or whatnot, Dante looks fucking ugly. I skipped most cutscenes though, the ones I did see were from watching people play.

--- Combat ---

Combat felt like DMC3/4 Dante, naturally. There was 2 moves that lets you hook onto enemies, or pull enemies towards you. If it's unclear what I just said, imagine the following:

A Death Knight from World of Warcraft using "Death Grip":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBHoq6oLYqo

When you drag the enemy in front of you, you can resume comboing it.

For the opposite, imagine Link from Zelda using the Hookshot (infact this was featured in DMC4 too via the Devil Arm)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lq8Pud2xiE

When performed, usually for aerial enemies but can be used for any mob as well, you zoom towards the mob and then can resume comboing it.

I was given 2 other weapons to use. 1 is a scythe, and 1 is a hammer.

The scythe seems to be ideal/good for Area of Effect damage. The hammer is good for overpowering enemies with shields (your sword and scythe would deflect if the mob blocks with its shield).

I didn't explore the options deeply but to use either the Scythe or the Hammer I had to hold on to L2 and R2 respectively and then play normally. I wasn't sure if I could've switched permanently ala DMC3/DMC4 style to change my combat abilities until I switch another weapon, but it made for lots of frustrating moments when I would accidently let go of L2/R2 and go back to using the sword.

I was only given the dual guns (Ebony & Ivory) to play with. They seem useless/pointless.

You could only one 4-combo attack in midair using the sword, or 1 special where you would do the good-old Dante downward slash move. I don't recall trying it with the hammer but I did do some satisfying KOs via smashing the hammer onto the floor. I believe you spin the scythe in midair, but I don't recall it doing anything to the floor.

I was not able to perform any different combos via hitting my slash button at slightly different times. Either it was not available because I don't have the purchased skill, or it just wasn't there.

Devil Trigger was weird. Pushing R3 and L3 together activates it, which seems to slow/freeze time. Unfortunately I kept forgetting to use it (I kept forgetting it was there) so I barely go to use it until the game reminded me to do so. I didn't get much opportunity to fool around on this, so I didn't remember/note that I had any special abilities while under the Devil Trigger buff.

---

I missed it as I had to leave with my friends, but it seemed there were 2 builds of the game available. One was a normal "stage" (the same city crumbling apart as seen in countless trailers/videos) and the other was what I would call a "boss" build where you fight some fugly slug like thing (as seen in a gif on the previous page).

I wasn't able to test the boss, but I saw some complete button mashing moron beat it, so I don't think I would've felt challenged.

---

The game feels clunky overall and it definitely was not as smooth as DMC4 running on my shit laptop. There was no shop or other things I could toy with. Due to the lack of headset/volume, I was not able to hear much, or his voice. Blessing or not I'm not sure.

For the stage demo, a platforming segment towards the end revolves you going into a church and it breaks apart. As you walk further in, the platforms break away and you gotta do near perfect jumps/glides to get to the other side. I kept dying here (falling down) and had to restart. After about 5 minutes of attempting (due to game failing to register my glide), I was incredibly disappointed to see the demo end as I had wasted my effort, I was hoping for a boss (which was on the other 2 stations, which I didn't notice until I had to leave).

Overall, unless I find out about more when it's released, i.e. extra guns, weapons, combos/styles, I will not buy it on Day 1 and will probably wait for it to get super-cheap or second hand before buying it.

EDIT: PS3 version

Cyanide: nice, I quite like those ideas.

G.o.D: The melty blood system, I forget exactly how it worked but the power drain you speak of, isn't that when you get a full power bar and then you enter a mode where you can freely spam specials/supers until that window of time is over? I've not played/touched MB for a while now but that inspires me to go whip it out for another run.

Yes, the idea was to give extremely minor attackmulsets that won't completely overshadow your opponent. It's true that it's best only for a full game. However, I might not even go down that route.

In my previous posts I suggested what basically is that while in base form you're limited in your abilities and combo output, which therefore limits damage. As you transform, you artificially grow stronger by opening up access to more and more moves and combo potential. When the ultimate form is reached, you're playing what I would describe as a complete character. But also with drawbacks.

In a full game domain, your movement speed is also reduced somewhat, but not to gamebreaker status. I'm unsure how I can incorporate movement speed into gameplay yet (basically, moving at x0.85 speed will not allow you to reach the 5th hit of X combo, whereas if you're at x1 speed then you'll be able to continue the combo).

I have still been playing around with some ideas.

It doesn't matter. The movie takes place between episode 288 and 289 if you need to be that specific.

The movies have little continuity and is not the best guage at timeline.

Just to fix your thoughts or satisfy your curiousity, Fusion Reborn takes place approximately around the time when Goku and Vegeta are dead (Episode 248~), but I'm not elaborating any further than that.

Wikia has a retarded explanation (in fact all of them are near retarded, they go into way too much detail and I don't think many people care):

Quote
Like many movies based on the Dragon Ball series, this movie is difficult to place within the main series' timeline.

When Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan 3, he says he has never been pushed to transform into that form before except during the fight with Majin Buu. Fat Buu is not seen anywhere, but if Kid Buu has been defeated, then both Goku and Vegeta should be alive again. This suggests that the Majin Buu Saga happens within this film's background.

In the video game Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury, the events of this movie happen after Fortuneteller Baba takes the dead Goku back to the Other World (episode 248) and after Mr. Satan meets Majin Buu (episode 252). This is even though Goku is not seen returning to Grand Kai's planet in the manga/anime after Baba brought him back to the Other World, instead being at the Sacred World of the Kais either helping Gohan with his Z Sword training or watching the battle on Earth in a Crystal Ball while Old Kai was unlocking Gohan's hidden abilities.

This, with the ability of Goten and Trunks to fuse as Super Saiyans, suggest that Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn was going on during or after episode 253, where Goten and Trunks successfully use the Fusion technique as Super Saiyans for the first time. Additionally, Mr. Satan is not at Majin Buu's house in the movie, which is consistent with the fact that he left the Majin's house in episode 253 to get dog food for Bee. As shown on Videl's watch, the movie took place on a Saturday, the 16th (9 days after the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, which took place on May 7 of Age 774).

Yes movies are predictable.

Predictable in the fighting mainly, yes. Even you detailed it yourself with the mini analysis for the sagas. The story however, is somewhat OK. My gripe is that unless this movie (14) surprises us, the fight scenes will suck.

Plus, 14 is really unlucky in Eastern Culture. Just look at Final Fantasy XIV, it bombed, haha. However, they never named this movie "Movie 14", it just happens to be what we would refer to it.

Feel free to discuss/ask though, drewski90, you seem to have somewhat interesting ideas or confusions.

If you read carefully, nobody said the movies OMG RULEZ. They just don't suck shit. Are you acting like anybody who doesn't agree that they suck must think they rule and is a fanboy ?

Not at all.

Movie Plot of this movie

New Villain pops out of no where from another planet -> Goku gets beat up till he transforms -> Kill the Villain till he's dead -> Vegeta VS Goku moment or some crap

I dunno, I'm not really excited, it's good they're still caring about DBZ but meh, kinda getting old now...unless they bring back Raditz

You've predicted pretty much what might happen, even I was thinking the same when I heard about it, hah. :grrr:

And Cooler's Revenge.

Wait what am I talking about, only Bio-Broly sucked shit. You're just saying generic reasons you hate Dragonball Z period.

I hate DBZ? :laugh4:. No. I hate the movies in general. They are all pretty much boring. You're not providing me any reason why the movies "OMG RULEZ".

If you know your stuff, you would know that the 3 movies I mentioned are where the heroes and main villain fought somewhat equally and exciting. The rest of it, except 13 perhaps, is just seeing Goku knocked around senselessly. There is no real excitement there at all. In Movies 9 and 10 Gohan substitutes Goku's place.

It's true my post comes off as generic. The story in each movie is fine, but we watch DBZ because of the fights. You're trying to say to me all the movies were "fun"? Your post comes off to me as "I'M A DBZ LOVER AND IT ROCKS YOU MUST NOT SAY IT SUCKS" ... or perhaps, whiteknighting.

If I had to hand pick one, Movie 3 sits right there as the most depressing one.

For those too lazy to research more, Wikia seems to have a large bunch of information:

http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Ball_Z_(2013_movie)

Better read it now before some anal fan comes in there and edits the article to be over detailed.

---

I am tainted by most of the movies released in general and I don't see much excitement to this one if they stick with that formula again. This is why I rate the Trunks, Bardock Specials and the Original Lost Movie as considerably better than the movies. They don't use that formula, making it for an interesting watch.

EDIT: And lets not forget if they go with the "current" rules, the previous movie (Yo Son Goku and his Friends Return) puts Vegeta straight up there in the idiot (comic relief) category. Despite the movie being a small fun project, but they ruined him slightly. It just doesn't feel the same. The interactions, although cute, disrupts what has been set up the whole time. Goku and Vegeta's behaviour towards each other in episodes 280-291 was much better because Vegeta is still trying to come off as cool/serious.

A similar character, Knuckes from the Sonic series, had a similar treatment. In Sonic 3, Sonic Adventure, he was kind of cool (despite there being not exactly any dialogue in Sonic 3, but he was still semi badass), but since Sonic Adventure 2 he gets knocked right into the idiot category.

Given the track record of the previous movies this will most likely be shit.

- Overpowered Villain
- Torture Porn
- BY YOUR POWERS COMBINED GOKU WILL ONE SHOT THE VILLAIN

Movies 1, 2, 11 are exceptions.

While I'm impressed by your ability to rack up money from people/fans, did you consider people who voted are just doing it to show that "they're socially care and stuff" and actually mean nothing of it?

If you need an analogy, think of the people that turn up to protests but don't actually care too much for it. In other words, sheep.

That SSJ3 sprite is cool, but is the details on the shoes purposely missing? (or is it the angle).

And how much did you make previously on another project? Or is it this the first time.

I'm not being confrontational. I'm genuinely impressed by what you are doing overall.
