Well I aim to have iTunes turned off until I need to manage my MP3s/transfer. Otherwise it's off full time.

On the subject of that, I have another query:

other forum I posted at said:
But moving on now, how are albums arranged on the iPod?

One thing I've taken interest is (for some reason), album art. However, my current setup is that I have "an album" for each disk of an album, so if an album I have has 3 disks, it will actually come up as 3 albums on the iPod?

Or is it possible to set a "folder" (with 1 art) and then further arrange it by disks? I'd hate to see it all get merged together into one big jumble, I like my albums arranged by disk.

About album art, I don't know ... maybe it's just because I see a picture or something and it brings by memories ... should make music more enjoyable to listen to ...

Can you have more than 1 album art per album? Or is one the limit, for that gimmicky CD scroll feature ...

Is there not another application you can use other than Photoshop? I mean, it seems to be overkill for what you want to do.

Why not consider "GIMP"? It's free and should be able to cater for what you need. http://www.gimp.org/

Alternatively (and I mean this in a postive way), do not get involved with MUGEN. At all. It will slowly swallow you. :S

Lots of hassle plus lag and all sorts of changable stuff and what. It seems people are willing to go through a lot just to play online. :blank:

Unfortunately, as everyone will say, you need to put time into something to be good at it.

I guess the only way to do it good is to edit simple things first, learn about shading for different styles and such ...

Also let everyone see your edits and criticize them. You'll improve that way.

And maybe, visualize how you go about spriting. Kinda like how artists do it with their paintbrushes ...

My current player is a hard drive based one. I've ran a bit in it, moved around lots with it and never had any problems.

I do agree that they seem overrated however.

Also, I used to own a 128mb MP3 player (back when 256mb was considered something uber!!), man I spent many many MANY batteries/hours swapping music around ... :blank:

Trying to decide what to listen to on my way to work the next day was a pain. So I went to a 20gb Creative to a 40gb and finally a 60gb. Now I'm going more than double that. Moore's Law GO! (or whatever that processor speed law goes)

I've looked up some reviews for this current iPod, it seems that 40 hours battery life is ... amazing.  :S

I've got the money for the iPod, but I will not use its services to pay for the content, I'll have my own to choose from.

Reason being I like having something that's all in one, and very frequent 240 minute journeys on trains I need something to keep me occupied (commuting). Moving around a lot, I rather not pull out my laptop if I can help it just to listen to music. I'm currently using a Creative Xtra Zen (60gb) which is getting very old and dated (4-5 hours battery life, back lit screen dead, 200~ MB free) so that's why I brought up the question of iPods.

I am currently just holding out a bit to see if Creative unleash their own version to go head to head with the iPod Classic, but if they don't produce anything over 100gb in size I might just have break down and get the iPod. The idea of some photos, some games (however crap they probably are) and videos in one device seems way better than those portable media centres (which are much bigger).

Still, I'll hold out a tiny bit more. I don't listen to 500 tracks a day or anything by all means, but I do like to choose from what I own.

That's if you use iTunes, I use the winamp plugin Val mentioned and it works flawleslly; you can add or remove songs and browse them using an iTunes-alike interface (media library).

Oh, but he said he uses iTunes to upload the music and Winamp to make the playlists...

Is there a link I can see/view about this plugin? :-\

There are alternative softwares, like something with "red" in its name. I tried that one - it sucked.

There's also a plugin for winamp, didn't try that one but supposedly it works.

Anyways. I have an iPod 30GB, and I use iTunes to upload the music and keep my mp3 folder organized, and winamp with dynamic playlist to play music on my PC, it works very well this way. And since I only rarely get new music (maybe once a month) it is no big deal starting up itunes, adding it to music library, uploading and closing it.

Ah....

Then, is it true that you have to have a mirror copy of your music on your PC to "sync" music to iPod? If you delete say, 2 albums and 1 track randomly (on PC or iPod), next time you sync would one or the other get deleted too?

I don't have an iPod.

A considerable waste of money.

I'd rather just listen to my CD player.

Sorry, I don't want to carry around 500+ CDs :o

Also, another note, no I will not consider other forms of iPod. This is just a query to you all. I am still waiting for Creative to come up with a similar one. :beam:

iPod.

-Maybe- wanting to get the new classic one. I assume a lot of people should have one of one form or another ...

My question.

Is iTunes the only app to use to transfer music. Is there any other app? >:(

Notes:

I will not use the online store, ever. All my music is from my own CDs.

Here's an example of the type of music I'm talking about. I'm sure Agentsix is talking about this too,

http://youtube.com/watch?v=rrcxzly9m-g

^ The music at the 47 second mark. The Super saiyan 3 theme created by Bruce Faulconer. His DBZ music was amazing!

That Rap/rock and roll music from the dubbed DBZ movies was just horrible.

Unfortunately for you, that's about as good as it gets. There's a few others on top of my head, Pikkon's Theme too, but a lot of them weren't that good. It's decent, but not brilliantly amazing. The SSJ3 Transformation tune fit the scene very well, for the Average Timmy though.

If only the episodes for the European Version existed somewhere, I believe the majority of the episodes I've watched and experienced in the UK had music way better than what Bruce would've made. To quote wiki:

Quote
International English version

Until 2001, other English speaking countries including the UK, Canada, Australia and Republic of Ireland received FUNimation's English version of Dragon Ball Z, both the Saban and In-house incarnations. This changed when Episode 108 aired in the UK (also in The Netherlands); the English Dub switched to a version produced in Canada. This version regained the original voice cast by the Ocean Group instead of the FUNimation actors. This version began airing in Canada in the autumn of 2001 from Episode 168, and ran through to the end of the series. It used FUNimation's own videotracks and its scripts, albeit with some changes. This version used music recycled from the Mega Man and Monster Rancher cartoons, as well as a few original pieces for the series by Jon Mitchell, Tom Keenlyside and David Iris. This version suffered from low production values and a rushed schedule. Many voices did not stay consistent through the series, and by the end few remained from the original 1996 cast. See below for a complete cast listing.

Yes it had some recycled music, but they were VERY brief tunes. Those were instantly picked up as you hear them, if you watched any of the older cartoons. Some that I didn't pick up made some fights a LOT more interesting than what Bruce Falconer could've done to them. Interesting ones to note were the Android 17 vs Piccolo and Cell vs Goku fights, the music was very uplifting and energy rushing, techno style. Same goes for Pikkon and Goku. I haven't seen anything from the Buu Saga but I did recall a very good different kind of theme during the Gotenks vs Buu fight when I was briefly around someone's house.

Just my opinion though. To each their own.

Kyouya:

Thanks. Weird but I guess, unique, sort of. Weird as in, weird choice of "ultimates". When I think of ultimates a 100 hit big explosion combo jumps into my mind ^_^

One of Goku's Ultimates is a One Hand Kamehameha?

That he did to Freeza??

Is that in referencing the final bit where after Goku gave him a bit of ... life, and then Freeza felt insulted and fired a blast at Goku has he flew away, Goku calls him a fool (of some variation) and fires a blast back.

That blast? :S

Regarding music, I remember Movie 8 ... in the dubbed one, one of the early incarnations of the movie, it had ... Rap/Rock/Emo(?) music, during the Broli fight. It was very inappropiate.

It portrays the average Joe feeling. Serious watchers will know that Broli is terrible (watching the original). The Joes and Timmys will think "WOW THIS IS ONE AWESOME FIGHT YEAHHHH!~"

If you don't care about the tech of the game, just get the original GGXX (GGX2 for PAL) to save money.
