What is the rest of Piccolo's upper body doing during that stretchy arm animation? Looks odd. And is he scratching his opponent or something? Just asking.

Looks perfectly fine to me.

Here's some very very fast improvements:

(it could use some frame inbetween!)

Check some reference for such an Attack (especially look at the legs, as your edit doesnt have that much anticipation) :) :

I'm more a fan of such an Attack though, seeing that it will look weird that Trunks gets down his knees for a normal sword attack + the sword would get stuck in the ground. So here's how you could also animate it:

Created another reference animation list:

Image2: Slash Effect
Image3: Slash Efffect
Image4: An Attack like this where the screen turns black for a second
Image5: Intro
Image6: Combo
Image7: Just another intro
Image8: If you use frame 9 from that animation you probably have the clash sprite (instead of using hands)
Image9: Attack and Effects
Image10: Take that as a reference for creating the perfect sword motion before putting the sword back in
Image11: See the small white star at the beginning of the animation. that effect could be used somewhere greatly!

Image1: Download it - see the finger movement could work for the stance (that is why I turned the sprite/animation to the left)
Image2: Trunks Into screaming Gohan OR Trunks Overtime Loss
Image3 & 4 combined: Win Animation

If I were to do Yamcha:

It would be this one: http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2012/082/b/7/db__yamcha_and_puar_by_carapau-d4tomo7.png

According to attacks/ animation references I once put this together:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8eq1aez3x074bge/AADLVkCy2DZNojR9uCFgqpDJa?dl=0

I see Yamcha more of a slasher (with his hands)

As always this is a good resource page about abilities: http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Yamcha

Let him have some different variations of Wolf Fang Fist, His controllable Spirit Ball, Some neat old after image techniques from DB, and maybe some Pocket styled combo where Puar transforms into a sword and then the Bazooka.

Yes, that suicide move is planned!

@Diepod:
 Yeah there it is
Great work!

The only thing you could slighty improve is the transistion from the stomp back to the stance. This could be easily done by changing the left forearm (spriters view) of the second last frame more to the inside so the change to last frame is not as abrupt.

made some alignments, some small proportion adjustments, deleted a frame and reorder another frame:

I personally don't see anything wrong with what Sean Alty did. It looks fine to me.

which is what I wrote too, if you read the message:

"In fact I dont see any big errors in your animating, yet there is always room for improvement."

Just to make something clear:
I do not edit these & expect you to edit it to please me or anybody else. In fact, and please don't get me wrong, I truely understand that you could care less about the changes I made, seeing that you get paid for doing spriting/animating and going back to a for you finished part of the product would clearly be not work efficient.

After all, following your great progress over the years it is clear that you greatly improved with each frame you sprited/animated. I do acknowledge your acquired skills and it is obvious that you have a great work output doing great sprites and animations. In fact I dont see any big errors in your animating, yet there is always room for improvement. Seeing that you were developing and enhancing your skills with each char you made & the fact that I saw a fast way to improve something you crafted, made me want to show you, how easily you could improve these animations with very little effort. My honest apologies for doing so without being asked, I do not and did never intend to offend you OR make you redo something you think is perfectly fine.

You see, I cant even play Mugen on my Mac (I hardly ever played before). Yet I love creating & therefore really admire the graphic process behind making chars, as I love pixel art and animating. That said seeing how you create a character has been a great inspiration to me & for that I wanted to return something to you.

Not trying to annoy you here :)

Original:

One frame added (just moving the arm a bit down to left - legs one pixel down)

Same frame added - one frame of your original animation left away

Hey! Not a bad shot at the style at all, I am curious to see more from you in the near future.
As for the Broly sprite, the colors are actually picked quite nicely, and the shading is good too.
I think the main thing to point out with this sprite is that, it seems based off a Budokai screenshot, right? Which is a 3d game.
I can tell mostly (if that's even the case) by his (viewer's) left foot and hand; they are a bunch smaller then his (viewer's) right arm and leg,
since they would be closer to the camera. So you have a bit too much perspective in the sprite.
Very good try though, now I'm curious to see something animated (if just a rough animation).

Download Steel from him: http://www.scruffydragon.com/downloads.php?cat_id=2&download_id=65

as far as I remember he was/is pretty much talented and also worked on an update of this char -->

started working on the bars, will show progress as soon as theyre done, btw Daeron we gonna need the round 1,fight,k.o and all that sort of lettering for the rounds, got anything in mind?

looks great!

how about having the Announcer from Dragonball appear at the bottom and say fight - or have randomly people fly by with the jindujun and leave the fight text in a cloudy way that diminishes. Like maybe have Upa sit on it, or Yajirobi trying to jump on it and fall through, leaving the "Fight" clouds.

with the cloudy font, bulma or anybody else could also be shown throwing in a capsule that "explods" and the fight font shows up, or baloons or whatever

font like this

If you're looking for more people to help with stages I'd like to offer my services. I'm currently in the process of learning to create stages and have been working on a stage for Blanka (after reading through this thread I was inspired to try mixing elements from his SF2/SFA3 stages into one), here's what I've got so far (I still have to rip sprites for the animated snake and a few other bits and pieces):

tried some color variations :) (there is some weird blue under the left tree where the sky is hit)
