-Fixed the debug text bug and alot of the critical things mentioned above. those crazy boxes can wait lol.
-His Medium low kick is really ugly, ill just redo the thing and fix the chain after that.

For now as long as he works and doesn't crash or anything super crazy unbalanced im happy w/ my lil attempt of a superman edit.
more updates to come for sure

It's my pleasure anyway here's some more stuff I found.

> His clsn boxes  are a little messy 2-3 is the general max from what I've heard

> you have blue clsn boxes over his red ones while your intentions are good its best to give him some red over the blue so he can win some jab trades.

> During his "Lets see you handle this" super when its over for a few frames his clsns start going haywire.

I'm gonna try to find some more to help you make him better.

1-Yeah I tried to simplify alot of the original's boxes. But left some of the original's intact mostly because I got bored/tired of them. Will put some effort to simplify more of them when i have time.

2&3-Im on it thanks!

4- I apologize for that lol. I left most of the clsn on that Super alone from the original.

What started out as a simple private re-spriting project turned out to be so much more.
I thought to myself that i would be respriting his costume and be done with it. Then i started to tinker with the animations,next thing i knew i was dabbling into coding (Mainly look at what other people have done, change it a little bit and put it in there). I consider none of these codes to be my original work. I guess frankencoding would be my word for it.

-Superman New 52 V 0.9
Note that it is not 100% done.
Due to my extreme inexperience with coding and mugen in general, I am expecting plenty of bugs and gameplay mechanics oversights.

Respectful constructive criticism will be very helpful

I expect that after seeing Man of Steel and as more  New 52 Superman things comes out I hope that i will be able to adapt what I see there into this Mugen character.

Credits are in the read me

Known bugs:
-Some characters get bugged w/ lv3 hyper. They will get uppercut but fall down soon after.
-Some charaters when frozen cannot be hit w/ <-(charge 45 ticks), ->,Y move.
-Flight mode ai and overall functionality needs alot of work (not really a bug, more of a wip)

This is turning out really nice, something i noticed though,
is that he does alot of damage on some of the basic combos. But thats just my op.
Are you going to change the voice in the soundpack to something else, the voice just doesnt click imo.
Good job though, coming out really nice, loving the man of steel winpose and music in the bg

Thx!. Yeah they are OP there. Dampener was not on, was working on something and forgot to turn it back on. :/ yeh the voice will be like that until some1 cooks up some injustice rips or something. I do not have the resources to rip myself.

Looking good. :)

The intro at 0'40 (vs Ryu) is very misaligned though, as you can even see him moving when he reaches state 0.

Also, be careful with your sprite alignment for all the crouching poses. He's often below the floor (clearly, his feet are lower than the opponent's feet) and you can use the shadow to see that. On his winpose where he crouches at 1'19, however, he's too high (front foot stands in the air if you look at the shadow).
So yeah, make sure you align his crouch pose properly, then realign all the other crouching sprites with onion skin.

This kind of misalignment really ruins the character because it makes it looked unpolished.

showcasing some of the references of the new animations, pallete,combos and ai.

-did not show Bizzaro Mode/Palettes because they are not finish
-anyone know where 1:20 came from? :)
-Pallete references (In order as they appear): Normal1, Normal2, Man of Steel, 80s, Kingdom Come, Mr Majestic, Birthright(Same as b4, I did not touch it), Mon-El and Sentry.
-FINALLY replaced 80s Lois.

Coming soon (Hopefully at the perfect time to release a Superman character.Hmmm when could that be?)

*AHH! I forgot to add this clip in! lol. finally got the grab part to work and made new atmosphere chase animation

Yeah i checked on that. turns out that it was just a problem when i rendered the video into adobe premiere, it distorted some pixels around making his forehead small then normal again lol.

All the basics are in place and is playable although gameplaywise no combos in place
Updated:
Head
Tried best to clean up most animation
Changed some basic attacks
Added heat vision light fx. like loganir's chracters        (1:21)
New Lv3 Hyper Uppercut animation and fx                  (2:00)
Lv1 Diving Hyper superpause & shockwave fx added   (1:47)

To do list:
Gameplay refinements (combos, hunt down infinites, damage, etc)

Clean up sound (Original had alot of blanks in it)

Looks great so far, but superman's left leg looks a bit bulky and a bit short during his stance, but then again maybe it's just me.

You're maybe onto something here. Ill stare at it after a good long while and see if his legs need trimming. :)

That's looking good. But as you've stated the atmosphere could probably use cleaning. But something else is that maybe when the opponent comes back down from being punched, the effect when he's hit the floor should be bigger in my opinion. Also, what was wrong with the walk anim? i thought it looked fine.

Also, have all the old sprites been replaced by the New 52 versions?

-Bigger and better splosion :) you got it.
-I think he puts his front leg just a tad bit too high. Its really funky specially when he transitions from waking forward to backwards.
-Most of the old sprites are edited to the new suit. I just basically drew lines and belt and reshaped the cape attatchment to show more shoulders. He looks 100% transformed to the new 52 suit in combat but Intros still needs converting and Iam still countiously tweaking things like the punch and kick animation.

New WIP lv3 hyper showcase



Things revealed on here:
-New stance based on the Injustice game
-Kryptonian Biosuit transformation
-LV3 Hyper based on the Injustice game

Things to do based on what you see here:
-need to change the walk forward animation. (doesnt look quite right yet)
-Clean up atmosphere animation ( I quicky did it just to see what it would look like and/or if i can pull it off). Its really pixely and color lossy for now
-Create my own code (For now its based on Sean Altly's superman hyper. Again pls dont stone me lol. I just wanted to see what it can look like). The only original thing ive coded here is the "space chase" animation and a few effects that ive inserted.
-Make the beginning of the hyper have supes grab p2 up in the air abit and then punching him into space instead of just a forward punch.
-realign some effects
-other realigning and animating not seen here

Things that I have no power over:
-Still no response to the permissions ive requested :(

Otherwise, I would suggest the following, when the Injustice game is released, change the voiceset.

Are you gonna improve the Bizarro mode also? or just remove it entirely?

Here's an idea for a replacement hyper, well actually two.

1. A hyper that involves punching the opponent into the stratosphere, flying up, then smashing them down back to earth. Like Supes ultimate attack in Injustice, or Kojunho & Magus's Supergirl.

2. A hyper that makes superman flying around the opponent and hitting them, not only damaging them, but also lowers their hyper gauge since he's attacking their pressure points also. This happened in Death Battle's Goku vs Superman video.

I think, Ill keep Bizzaro mode, but I doubt ill tweak it. I mean its already there so Ill just leave it alone.

Ai controlled match


I basically just sprited over the old version for now.
WIll make video much clearer in future so you can see the finer details of spites. (I swear those details specially on the boots are there lol)

To do List:
Make animation smoother by adding more frames
-Fix original's messy boxes
-Replace Superscream Hyper w/ (undecided)
-Replace Cpt America&Supes w/ Justice League Hyper. (Might need help w/ coding for i suck at it)
-Replace Hyper portraits and effects
-Reconfigure command buttons
-Replace that retro Lois in the win pose video lol.

Any ideas on what will replace Superscream? Lv3 Hyper.
And try not to say "oh i hate this costume because I like my men in tight spandex" pls

Hi im a fan of Tales series and have collected ur stuff ^^. I think it would be cool if you added Meikuu zanshouken. I know you have tweaked it up for ur style of gameplay but pls add it for nostalgic effect  :sugoi:.

Aside from that tiny request. Its pretty awsome and balanced to your other characters (non bosses).

Now if only some1 would whip up a good Tales Screenpack. I know theres one here but its meh. (I tried  to make one but failed miserably)

Bwahahahaha and let the hate on the "found" section begin (again).  :'( sadly. alot of these half attempts get blasted by elitists. ppl should really just stop making mugen characters unless they're perfect. (that's the lesson that I learned in this forums)

Hey P-tan if somehow ur reading this, pls stop makin anymore mugen characters or keep them to yourself. See how ur making people like the ones above rage?
