Aw zax, dont get all mad. You see, if anyone was treating you like "You fucking faggot, i hope you all die and go to hell rawr" yep we would have banned em, warned em, whatever, in no time. ( as a matter of fact we have banned people over stuff like that a ton of times, including a couple homophobic jerks and a guy that kept telling others to go ride dicks and that he was straight as a tomato due to having a girlfriend with whom he practiced straight sexing) , but no one is mistreating anyone here, they are just being communicative.
This isnt exactly myspace where you can expect people to come up to you and talk extremely careful on how to approach you, its an open forum, and if you yourself make question of calling yourself gay, others will too.

Sides, its the internet, you attract a lot of attention towards one part of your personality and people will use it to try to get reactions out of you.

Zax, you're being over defensive. Saying a gay person is gay and saying a black person is a nigger are two different contexts. Just because a straight person calls a gay person gay doesn't mean the person is insulting you.

This is either the best sarcasm thread towards Shaun proposal of trying to be polite on the internet, or you need thicker skin dude.
No one was insulting you as much as they were trying to be funny, and if you ARE gay, then you know better than taking insult on things that simple, or else you will find insult in a LOT of stuff over the internet and the real life.
Or do you expect to come up to aplace announce you are gay and searching for more gay gamers and people not to crack jokes about it?

I used "Gay" in the same manner one would use to describe a bar full of gay people (i.e. a gay bar). And there are a bunch of gay people in a thread about gay people, making this a gay thread. It's not an insult, just a joke pointing out what I already mentioned.

I don't know if it will be that easy for me. In truth, I have a very abusive father, which I live with. He knows I'm hiding something from him, but he thinks it's drugs. If he knew I fancied men, I'd be out the house faster than I can say "I'm a proud gaymer."

How did you do it? Any tips on how I should break it to my parents that I have a sexual attraction to men?
