Make sure it's positioned correctly and has a functioning palette. You need to use sffv2 if you're going to use 24bit images. If you're not, you need to palette it correctly, which is sounds like you haven't done.

Actually i started again with clean fight.def and fight.sff, and i got functioning lifebars. I was tempering with the "playerpos", i now have em on its place. Except for the powerbar, i that one to fill up too, but dont know bout that one yet.

I got some sprites prepared i want to use as lifebars, but i cant acces the data/mugen1/fight.sff. As far as i understand it that is a new format known as sffv2, wich cant be opened by FF and FFU.

Now can anybody translate this little manual for total retards like myself, cause i simply dont get it.

Still, i'm kinda stuck here, cause i cant look into the fight.sffv2. "stream read error"
So how do i figure out wheres what sprite with wich number? Is it exactly the same as the old version? (wich has a different looking lifebar)

Maybe its a stupic question, but why cant i just use the old .sff with larger sprites?

On the lake stage the floor and poles clash with background.

Yeah i know, i sacrficed looks for a something that seems to work a bit.

Random static bg image using Cybasters tool with a slap on floor layer? <--- I could be wrong since I am judging from the screenshots alone...
...and the blackjack foreground trick would help a bit.

I never heard of Cybasters. And dont throw fancy mugen secret leet language at me, i dont understand what people are talking about here half the time. The floor and walls are static images yes, so are the windows. Yeah i like blackjack, but i dont play for money.

Let me know if the alien animation is bugging you. I like it, its fun, its also distractive, and it moves a bit tacky.

GREAT stage man byt how can I make it to work on mugen plus ?

The "stage.def" and "stage.sff" always go into the folder "stages"
Background music files like "stagemusic.mp3" always go into the folder "sound"

Thats all for installing a basic stage with music.

Dont worry, i'm busy with creating my first screenpack, and once i've figured out how to make em i'll make different styles. I have two stages ready i'm saving up, and i'm working on some matching lifebars. Maybe someone can point me out to a good tutorial for mugen+.

Hey guys, here's my first release after a long long time. I really have to get used to this new version, i'd seem to have forgotten alotta things on how to make stuff work. Anyway, i'm pretty happy with the result. Its not perfect, and i never made a really good parallax floor, so in case anyone noticed,.. yes, i based the floor on Parse's work from the Ryu HDR stage.

Well i havent gotten any further, but i have installed the old Fighter Factory wich does work without problems. I dont think the old version is still available on the VirtualTek website, but if you google it you can still find it. I'm just happy to know i can stil do some work on MUGEN.

I recently got a new computer and wanted to do some dev with the new MUGEN Plus. But i cant get FFU to work. I tried running the program as an administrator, i tried running the program with various compatibility settings,..  no effect. I'm kinda stuck here. Anyone else running into this problem? Please post your specs.

I've put a little music in it too, along with the proper plugins. Its an entirely fresh engine.

Allright guys,..  i can help you out with the screenpack and the power bar etc if you want me too. ArellonX already sent me a demo and i noticed a few things when i had a look at it.

The logo and its color look nice, but still rather simple, i do think the logo is essential in the menu, but we can do something more with that. The flames i got 2 things on, so hear me out.

1 - Always use photo gifs against a proper background,. these dark edges the flames show are to be used against dark backgrounds only.
2 - The animation isnt a fluid loop,.. it doesnt mean they cant be used, but you might wanna do something else with them, editing doesnt seem easy to me.

The mainmenu can have 4 (maybe 5 layers) animated or static. We can do something nice with that. We'll need to use or incorporate the dragon into the scene, give the title some nice design, and work out a background that doest get to busy on the eye and still looks cool.

Lets agree first before posting further ideas,....  i dont wanna push my way into the project, so..  lets put it on the table.  :deal2:

To clarify this before I start trouble again, these some concepts that aren't final, some are but not all and others just place holders until a design can be made.

*Raiden, is by Kaandorpious, I edited his work, I won't use it until he approves it and hopefully he can sprite it.
*Kano, I'm not sure but I think I used a few pixls from simpliband, if he's cool enough to let me use them I'd be very grateful.
*Shinnok, has a hat that I used from NiallAsh, I hope he can adopt this or make one better and allow me to use his custom sprite/hat.

Sure you got my approval,..  feel free to use anything i created. Theres nothing i own that can be taken away from me, so here's to experience and dont worry bout credentials.

I wanna do some stages for you guys,..  since i dont really do much thinking about what i make, i'll just make some stuff and make changes where needed later on. I still have this stage wich i never showed anybody i believe.

The yellow air is like smoke falling down,.. gives a nice atmosphere to the stage. Its like 5 seperate layers as a whole.

Allright, i figured it would be nice for a little introduction here.

I am Kaandorpius, 26 year old male from the Netherlands/realm. I've been neglecting mugen for a while since my old gear broke down, wich is replaced by newer older gear. I Still have all my work though, wich is basically all available on this site.

Ok,...  so a new project of combined effort going on,..  i already saw sum interesting stuff on this thread, so my interest is there. I wonder though, since the engine isnt going to be to celebrated mkp, how the new one will be setup. Whats the progress on that by the way? I cant imagine creating new characters on a fighting system that isnt worked out yet.

Before i can say i can commit myself to the project, i want to know we have a fighting system worked out onto wich the characters can be standardized, this garantees a basis for balanced gameplay, especially since various people are co-creating its entirety.

So let me hear how you feel and think about this fella's.

hmmm about the part to make an mk mugen the way it should be well in this case how abaout a side mk for example mk enhanced it is like a side mk :P but the fact that us fans whant to se more characters is great but non of us whant to se a character that has the boddy of sub zero the head of liu kang and the moves of kenshy for example here it must be unique now if u put for example sub zero to make kano's stance or frame  or to make him do the moves that are in deception now that is a great job a great progres to se 2d characters make moves that are in 3d version :P now that is unique :P and about the part of makeng a character is more dificult. anywai this game will roks and about mk blood storm i don't have no clue

Sounds good, but that aint so easy to do. 3d games have shifting camera positions, characters overlap eachother, backgrounds have to be colored in for transparancy etc,..

I want to incorporate characters from WarGods,.. basically the first MK like 3d fighter from Midway. For the fun of it i just made a animated gif from Kabuki Jo. (its a bit fucked, but gives an idea) And like i said, i want to,..  but i need people to help me out with that, cause i cant possibly do it all by myself.

This animation doesn't look right look at the waist.


Edit: Downloaded its a waste of space first off the raidens just a sprite swap thats messed up and pixelated grey, Same with all the other chars and 2 stages and a screenpack.


To BigBoss:

Dark Raiden is not complete.  the pixelated grey that iss hown on some of the sprites are placeholders because the required sprites are not done yet.

As for the characters, stages, and screnpack, this is a demo. If you don't like it, then don't play it.  Just don't brag about it to anyone else. >:(

It's called criticism if you can't handle it, Don't post about it same logic is applied.

Well the blue pallet is just the basic assembly of other characters, the alt character will have a somewhat colored shade, dont know what color it will be yet.

By all means fire some ideas this way, who knows you may get your name in the credits.

Theres always more ideas, its motavacation that lacks sometimes. You got a good start on this project, and I'm looking forward to the end result.

Also, Yeah that kano is awesome btw.


Motivation is no problem when it comes to Gothica, yea it's good to take a little break from you projects, maybe to play them and try to spot bugs, or even to live life :D. But I enjoy making this project, I want the perfect MK for me.
