Well my threads don't get many replies. I'm not bothered by it you just gotta be patient someones bound to find your topic interesting enough to comment on it.
Thanks, this comment also makes me feel better.

@SolidZone Welcome to the mugen community!
lol what are you talking about? I've been here since 2008. Did you not know I have 623 posts? Guessing having zero replies on my topics for days makes me feel like a newbie.

Well, I don't know about idea engineering or what kind of topics you're referring to generally, but as a general rule, I think you get what you give in this community.

As far as for the help topics, I find that if you're patient and clear about your query, it will get answered. Ppl on here are busy with their own WIPs so spending time to help on a topic that may never really come to fruition isn't always tempting. Having said that, I haven't released anything yet but I am constantly getting help from some great peeps on these boards. I think as long as you're showing progress and that you know what you're talking about (Hell, I don't even know what I am talking about half the time but still) people will help.

Sorry you feel that way but try not to take it personally and just focus on conciseness and relevance.

My two cents.
The only reason I made this topic is because I have a WIP of my own and I want to start it ASAP because college will start for me soon and I won't have time to do it. My topic that had zero replies was about I have to choose which set of sprites I should use and I want reply which is better, that's all. Without those replies on that topic, I can't start it as I don't have a clue which one should I use.

what I said was being polite now I can be more of a asshole to this guy right now but knowing guild I would be banned be glad I'm a nice person
Just to let you know, I like your M.U.G.E.N stages, but I don't like your attitude. I should report you for mocking me, be glad I didn't because I'm not an asshole. Plus, you didn't help whatsoever.

For the past few days, every time I post a topic on these forums, I seem to keep getting zero replies. Here are the reasons why:

-When I post something I need help on, nobody helps me.
-If I post an idea, nobody gives me suggestions.
-People look at my topic, they leave without saying anything.
-Another topic gets more replies while mine sits with nothing.

Can someone please explain to me why is this happening to me?

Thinking About Making a MvCSI Touhou Character

Ok, I'm considering to make a Touhou character in MvCSI style. I decided to choose Marisa since I like her and was inspired by the one currently a WIP by Trinitronity. If you have tried out my God Ken, you'll have an idea how her effects look. Right now, I haven't started on the character yet, so I need an idea before I start.

Anyway, I found a set of sprites of Marisa edited with a smaller head. I like these sprites a lot as they feel more Capcom-ish than the original. She does have a few missing sprites if I decided to use these ones. Mostly it's the one of her spinning her broom. Which would be used as a winpose.

Do you think I should use those ones or just use the original sprites with the large head?

Needs the I am your God victory quote ... haha, other than that ... I think this edit is kinda' neat good tribute to an old classic character from back in the old days of MUGEN
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll be sure to put that in the next update.

Also, sorry for not responding about the Akuma edit. I've been working on this guy more than I want to work on that edit. And the hitsparks that the Akuma edit used, will be used on all of my Marvel vs. Capcom Series Inspired characters. I will update that edit again eventually so it uses different hitsparks.

I'd look at my ryu instead. His coding much more simpler due to the fact that he doesn't have an air srk that I made soft knock down etc. Not to mention I coded a custom hitstate system for handling forced air recoveries because the default one mugen does is wrong. By that I mean it forces p2 back to 5040 before hitstun is even over and I don't know why because that makes no sense.
I'll take a look and see what I can do. Also, I remember why vyn's and DCL's characters didn't have automatic forced air recoveries. I'm guessing they were trying to go for CvS2 accuracy mixed in as well since the characters that do shoryukens in CvS2 didn't have automatic forced air recoveries. As you are aware, I removed the CvS2 effects off so it feels different to their characters.

Thanks for the release, been excited for this character since Christmas of last year. It was well worth the wait. :)

Also, this maybe off-topic but since he's 1.0 only, has those RMM lifebars ever been released for M.U.G.E.N 1.0? I remember them being released for Winmugen, but I don't remember if they were for 1.0.

Wow, so much feedback from C.A.N. I won't comment on all of them as there is a lot stated, but I will put all your feedback into consideration and try to fix most of them to the best of my abilities. Also, I didn't use DCL's Ken as a base, I used one of his other Kens. However, I did took resources from him. All this feedback would have also helped DCL fix his Angel Ken. But since he has no plans to, it's up to me to fix the issues on my edit and make sure I don't end up having those same mistakes like him. Especially having the name wrong is already one mistake.

-I'm assuming the lack of automatic forced air recoveries (like what happens after Shoryuken and Shinryuken in source) like in MvC is intentional, but it still feels odd considering all MvC games had it.
This is how vyn and DCL coded them. But if this is an issue, I can try and fix it. I may have said my characters using this style will not be source accurate, but I never said they will be unbalanced.

-His air supers just feels kind of tacked on. It's far too braindead since you can just use them after nearly every Shoryuken you throw out. :-\
DCL wanted his Angel Ken to do insane combos, but I didn't know it would be this crazy though. I'll have to tone it down somehow.

-I'm not liking how you can combo after his supers, but the damage scaling helps that out. Still feels weird to me, but heck it's custom.
Again, this is DCL's idea. Not mine.

-In fact, juggling after supers for him results in a lot of dino damage even without simple loops like that.
I was asked to change the juggle on his attacks. But I didn't do it because I don't know if it will change anything.

-P2 can manually air recover after both rolling throws. Not good for MvC.
Huh, the AI shouldn't be doing that. There must be a piece of coding I must have missed when I modified the throws.

-His AI is far better than DCL's Ken. It's way less spammy and doesn't blow meter at every opportunity.
I didn't do the AI, DCL did. This was back in the day before DCL's characters became too fast and unbalanced. I liked this characters a lot, but I started disliking them starting until I played his version of Akuma/Gouki.

-Ken should not be invincible during the Roll Dodge. It's way too safe that way and he was vulnerable during it in all of the source games he had it in. It did shrink his hitbox, but never made him invulnerable iirc.
What can I do about this though? If I add a blue hitbox even if it's small, would he not be able to go though opponent? Since this is also how vyn and DCL coded the rolls, I don't want to mess with it.

-Ryusen Kyaku (on the ground) feels like its command is too strict. It comes out after F, D, DF like it should, but it doesn't come out after F,QCF.
I'm aware of this. When I played the character, I noticed he keeps doing the Shoryuu-kick after F,QCF. He only does it when he is crouching on the ground. The original character before it was edited was the Thunder Punch. I removed the attack and decided to move the Shoryuu-kick to F,QCF instead of F, D, DF (Which Angel Ken used). For the Ryusen Kyaku, I decided to take DCL's MvC2 Ken and take the coding from him since the attack works similar anyway. I'm still trying to figure out how to fix this.

-Flash Fire has the wrong command in the readme.
-Ashura Senku also has an incorrect command in the readme.
-Roll Dodge doesn't even have a command in the readme.
-Even though I stated I changed the command on the readme because that was the correct command before, I forgot to change it to the new one. Big oops on my end.
-DCL must have wrote it incorrectly, I'll check it out.
-DCL didn't write it for some reason, I'll write it down on his behalf.

-I think I saw his AI walk before a round started one time.
Well, DCL gave the character the ability to move before the round starts. Since my Master Ryu doesn't have that ability, I could remove it if I can find that piece of coding.

Max Happy Happy Trigger does less damage than the normal one (both air and ground versions, and they just stop doing damage after a while).  :???:
Max Weapon XI does less damage than the normal one.  :-\
Fixed, If  anyone already downloaded the previous update here is a quick patch. just replace the states folder in him with the one in the rar.

Yep, it's fixed now. Don't know why it wasn't fixed when I addressed it. I forgot to address that Max Weapon XI does less damage too, which has been fixed also.

Im willing to give a couple bucks to put some swords for deadpool.....how much?
I don't think Infinite should put swords on all of his sprites. It would be a waste of time to do so. It's better when his attacks use them. Although, the swords on his Katana-Rama are all white instead of the black handle and sliver blade. Don't know if this will be fixed, but I'll just letting people know.

Now that I got one of my works out of my way, now I can finally try the update with Deadpool While I was play testing him, I only found one bug. The Max Happy Happy Trigger stops doing damage after the 18th hit.

New walk stance looks awesome, but I think Deadpool should have his old walk for his 4th Wall walk, just for making him look cute via MvC3. Or someone will make the sprites for it, but that's just me nitpicking.
I like this suggestion, you should use the old walk for the 4th Wall Crisis. If you notice in the video, he wasn't using the new walk:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RshrT9qoaow

If Davismaximus and Motorroach can make the moonwalk for his back walk, he would now move like in the original source game.

There shouldn't be. You're not going for accuracy to any specific entry, after all. :)
Cool, we're done here. Marvel vs. Capcom Series Inspired sounds original enough. Series Inspired should show enough emphasis in it's name compared to Special. It was a pain to try and make an original name in an hour. Thanks.

Download link will be taken down temporary. I'm currently fixing the name on all the files and will be up again in a few minutes.

New link is up. Hopefully I won't get any criticism about it not being an MvC3 character ever again. This feels similar to when DCL called his three Kens MvC2 when they're really MvC-EoH.

Yes, so I remove the "3" in it's name and just call it MvCSI. After that, no more complaints about the title?

Yeah, that's MvC3 for ya. :P I personally love how they play, but that's just me talking.
Glad you like it. It's just not my type of fighting game as the controls feels awkward for me. I actually prefer other fighters like Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale over UMvC3.

That's because SF4 FX got ripped due to it being released on PC.  UMVC3 never got released on PC so.....yeah.
Again, it's me being stupid. I guess that goes with SFxT since that also got released on PC as well. UMvC3 probably never will.

Also, I'm still trying to figure out a new name. What name I can make where a bunch of other franchises meet and fight?

They're source accurate in terms of gameplay, and that's the main factor in their playability. FX are a minor concern and would make the character too heavy in terms of .sff size.

You can continue the combo after knocking them down. Ken's air Hadouken combined with his Juggernaut assist and Sabretooth's Weak Wild Fang all allow for OTG combos. And for X-Factor, what MC2 said.
blood_riot_iori made an SF4 Gouken and was able to maintain the .sff file size with SF4 effects just fine. Not that it has anything to do with Ken and Sabretooth, but I'm just saying.

Sheesh, I don't like how they control. But if this is how they play if they would be in MvC3, fine. Maybe I suck at UMvC3 in general. This is why I like 6 button fighters better. There's nothing with me liking those kind of fighters, right? That's why I kept the 6 button config on God Ken. I could have changed it, but I don't want to.

How can they be very accurate if those characters doesn´t appear in MvC3?? Again, this MvC3 thing on Kamekaze chars is pretty much an experiment based on what most MvC3 chars have and based on the MvC3 system (hitstun deterioration, yadah, yadah, yadah). Not accurate but very close to the source
I meant that they're accurate in terms of their gameplay. :P In other words, they're source accurate to a source that they've never been in.
So they can still be source accurate even if his characters are using MvC2 effects?

Anyway, I just tried his characters and they're good. But it still has some flaws. I should be able to continue the combo after hitting the opponent to the ground and X-Factor should heal a little bit of health until the super meter drains out. I did played the game before. I played a few rounds with DCL and I was only able to win 2 out of 6 matches against him.

Give me resources or none of this stuff you said is going to happen. I tried asking for MvC3 related resources when I kept this character quiet at the time, but nobody replied. This is what you get from me for not getting any.
This didn't make any sense. You just play the game and see how it works, and then you recode the behaviour to the best of your abilities in Mugen (no need to be dead spot accurate since you said it wasn't your goal anyway).
Also, Kamekaze released several MVC3 styled characters, so you do have a bunch of Mugen ressources to get inspiration from.
I mean resources like sprites, effects, and all that flashy stuff. But yeah, if he gives me permission to use them. Which he probably won't as I think he said his characters are closed source. I bet he won't let me use anything taken from his so-called MvC3 characters (I think they're still MvC2 characters).

But I'm not going to, having the name changed will change the whole character altogether and I can do whatever I want without complains about not being source accurate.

air combo fall state that allows for relaunch,
some sort of wall bounce or ground bounce state,
xfactor?,
simple command layout,
4 buttons(LMHS),
assists?,
hitstun degradation,
using the same damage formula,
stagger states,
hard knock down states or flinged up while spinning upward states.
Give me resources or none of this stuff you said is going to happen. I tried asking for MvC3 related resources when I kept this character quiet at the time, but nobody replied. This is what you get from me for not getting any.

Why is "Marvel vs. Capcom" even in the title of this topic?
Because Ahuron called it that. Can't I? Since it's seems people here complain even for just a name, it will be changed as Graphicus requested.

1. He's being sarcastic. What he's saying is "What's the point of clarifying that it's not source-accurate (in your first post), when just about everyone knows that this character isn't even present in the game you claim you're basing it on? (or any other official game, for that matter...)"
So I can't make a Date Masamune (I would if I had the resources)? The idea is me trying to make characters that will never be in this type of style. I'm trying to do something different as the people here liked my "normal" edit of P.o.t.S's Shin Gouki.

4. We're glad you're releasing this character... we're just amicably suggesting that you remove the "MVC3" reference from the title, since you've demonstrated all by yourself that this character is not going to have anything that makes it remotely close to that game. "Misleading" is not an insult. We're not saying your character is bad or anything. Just, don't set the wrong expectations or you'll set up everyone else for disappointment.
Thanks anyway. It's not overpowered, not broken, no bad frames, nothing like any of those hardly edited work non-contributors make. I already play-tested the character enough so he isn't any of that. I'll change the name like you requested. I'm open to constructive criticism, but I honestly thought the word "Special" and saying it won't be source accurate will show emphasis enough, but I guess not. Since that plan failed, I'll do another update to fix the name and the template will be delayed until a name can be decided.

Also, at least nobody complained about the "God" part of Ken. And if anyone asked why, it's basically normal Ken if he was able to control the dark hadou.  Similar to what I did with my Master Ryu.

*Tries to download. Tries to connect.*

*Checks file size*

9.92 MB? Am I the only one who can't is having trouble downloading this? o_O
Don't bother downloading it. Even if I fix it, you probably complain about the name just like everyone else. I'll try to come up with one in a day or two and a new link should be up by then.

So it wont be accurate to the source you just created? That is mind-blowing...........
Well, how can I? I'm considering to make characters from neither Marvel nor Capcom. I might think about making a touhou character in this style.

Your title is so misleading there is NOTHING MVC3 related in your character. MVC3 isnt even a 6 button fighter dude.
You should of at least tried to set up his attacks like in MVC3,  3 attack buttons 1 launcher button.
Its more like Marvel vs Capcom 1 God ken
Um, yes it is. It's based on Ahuron's characters and obviously you people didn't look at the Special on the title. If I wanted very close to MvC3, I would have called it by it's current name, UMvC3. Also, The word "Special" shows emphasis on being MvC3 inspired and I never said it was source accurate due to the fact it was custom. If I had MvC3 effects, I would use them, if they exist. Plus, this was originally an scraped project back in 2010. Just be lucky I released him over Master Ryu. Hopefully releasing this can make people shut up and stop asking me for him.

However, I can still take your suggestion and made another cmd file using 3 attack buttons 1 launcher button. But I have to play the game first.
