Thanks for the feedback
Asymmetry? I'm not sure what you mean by that  o_O. The sliding characters thing seems to be a problem that I cannot fix. It's the same with MACKX's stages :( I'll try and figure out a way.
Oh and yeh you are right. I can't believe I didn't think of simply using the sky as a separate BG. Also many of the colour loss issues come from the light sources since they they have antialiasing  <--dunno if thats spelled correctly  glow sources use up a lot of space in the palette editor so I am rendering the glow sources out separately which will allow FF's palette editor to define the colours better.

Can you tell me more about this RGB method? Increased filesize doesn't bother me my characters alone hit 50 megs lolol.  Hopefully not 50 megs of shit though.

Trying to get the characters walking properly without sliding can be done but it's very tricky, one thing you can do is to make duplicate copies of each frame until you get the right motion

[BG 03]
type = normal
spriteno = 0, 4
start = -142080, 0
delta = 640, 0
tile = 5, 0

As you can see the tile is set to 5 of the same images making it move the way it does, you could increase the tiles and that'll slow the motion, or take away to speed it up.
If that doesn't work properly you could always put the images into the .sff and make duplicate copies that way, and then taking the tile thing out completely.
One thing i did to save time and fix the characters sliding on the floor was to make a seperate parallax layer for the floor, try to match it up as accurate as possible(depends on the stage) I used this on my marvel vs capcom stage as well as my cvs2 alaska 3D stage, you could check those out.

Cybaster gave you some good links to some RGB tutorials there, one thing i use is infranview, very good for batch processing and using the dithermode works the best that i've seen so far. One thing that might've been said already is using the RGB method will increase your file size by three times almost not worth it, so try using a good dither tool. The only 3d stages i've ever used RGB on was my arctic stage and that was because of the gradients, i couldn't get a dither to look right so i had no choice, but the file size is quite a bit bigger than the rest.

Any other questions, send me a pm if you like, i'll try my best to help ;)

MvC2 is a different game and it requires different codes to get rid of the obscuring hud and characters.

also
I remember some CvS2 training stage being made in 3d... Wasn't it complete ?

You see that silver award in Mackx's sig? That's his stage CvS2 training stage and yes it is complete.
I know how to remove the characters with just one click, if someone can show me how to remove the life bars hell I'll guarantee you this stage done.  I can deal with the shadows.

While it might be possible to get rid of all the hub, i haven't figured it out yet and i've tried everything that i can think of... This stage would be sweet to make but even with my swamp stage it was no easy task, i had to recreate alot of the layers to make it seem 3-d and the floor is parallax because of the shadows...  I might try another go at it, i tried making the river raft stage and because of the hub i couldnt do it, and when you try to get rid of it, it ends the game for some reason, i don't know drex was pretty good at figuring out artmoney he might be able to do something more with it...

@ ExS: April fool, baah, too bad, just when I was about to ask you if you were planning to release a patch to make it'd be less MvC than it seemed to be...  :P

@ MackX: Hasn't it happened yet ? Hmmm, I remember some CvS2 training stage being made in 3d... Wasn't it complete ?

I think your being sarcastic  ;D but yeah i did make that one awhile back in high res, also caddie made a low res version before that, what i was talking about was a 3-d stage with animations and having no colorloss, and ripping mvc2 is much harder then cvs2 which is why i've only made 1 mvc2 stage. When i saw this I almost had an accident in my pants...

MvC2 is a different game and it requires different codes to get rid of the obscuring hud and characters.

Which is next to impossible, getting rid of the characters is easy, getting rid of all the hud and the shadows is another story, however i still think your the expert at that and could probably figure it out.
