Hahaha I think thats what everyone does. We all download Jam's CVS2 stages as temporary placeholders until Mackx releases his superior versions!  ;P

Tried my best at this one, feels like the original but i'll let you be the judge of that...
All these shanghai stages inspired me to make another cvs2 stage, I tried to keep the file size as low as possible so hopfully it's not too big for some of you. Any feedback on how to make this stage better i'll gladly make the changes, it's kinda in it's experiment stage but i'm rather happy with it so far.

it looks as if you captured the whole stage in teh same manenr one would capture a video. you might want to try to search for individual elemnts that loop, then code each one as a separate layer.

That would give the stage some depth alright which would be awesome, but trying to seperate each layer is quite a challenge. I know you can do this with artmoney, but i still can't figure out how. http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=28777.0

Yeah not sure if there's much you can do about it, as motvn said there's a wider area so more colors are needed. The only thing i can think of doing is the rgb mode to fix it, but you probably have too many frames and the file size would be insane.  I use infranview to batch convert several images for stages like this, it's the best for making the images look same as the rest, haven't to this day found a better 256 dither batch program. Photoshop does a better job but not for batch conversion.
This is a hard stage to begin with so congrats on getting this far.

Btw you used a different resolution to pull the wide screen effect with null dc right? you running vista by any chance?  I couldn't get it to work...

Congrats on your first stage! however some things to keep in mind for future stages.
As stated before, try to have a floor... There is some pixalation on the image (looks like it was resized)
Try not to resize images as colorloss and pixalation can occur. Try not to use the jpg image format as stated also. There are lots of tutorials on stage making here on the guild, just use the search engine...

you can do that in NULL DC by just adjusting the display ratio in the emulator itself, no need to go 1337 h4h0r

Doesn't seem to work in vista... all it does is shut down... looks like im outta luck...

Re: Make or dont make *The First Mugen Stage With 3d illusion Anaglyph CYAN/RED*?

September 02, 2009, 08:39:20 pm View in topic context

??? please dont do that, play mugen in red and blue can be mmmm some dangerous and irritating in fact with only 2 or 3 stages, at least make a stereo character.

there are other 3d methods

I will make one stage with that "tremor" technique

Those just make me dizzy, can't imagine playing a couple of rounds like that...
I might take a look at this 3d thing as well with the red/cyan since i do this with photographs already...   Too bad we couldn't do 3-d using the shutter style glasses that way our eyes wouldn't be strained from the red blue...

'You will make more MvC2 stages, with super jump...'

*Jedi hand gesture*

lol, that's another one i'de like to do more of...

Not in 3D.. Unless if only everything on the ground level is done in the traditional multi-image way and then the sky above was a separate layer, but that means the creator would first have take the effort to edit the sky out of the original images in the first, unless said creator somehow removed the background texture or replaced it with solid pink... and then there's ways to stretch the viewable area in null dc as showcased in one of Rednavi's posts. This would've been beneficial for the Shanghai stage.

HD!

* Drex gears turning

Now that's something i'de like to learn how to do. I imagine its using artmoney to accomplish this? Anyways i didn't see him explaining on how to do this, i'll see if i can find it. If anyone has any info please share  :yeses:

Dark Tower :
- Using scaling is a bad idea. Whatever ... Would be nice making a version (just the DEF file with normal scaling, in case people use small chars, in which case scaling isn't needed).
- Shadows could use some fading.
- The tower sprite is not alligned on the right (didn't I already say that on the Flinstones stages ?) : you can see the space appearing on a one pixel wide vertical line.

Hmmm, looks like i'm really going to have to watch this, thought it was fine but i guess i didn't look hard enough... Shouldn't be a problem in future stages from now on...

Snake Pit :
- Shadows could use some fading.
- Seeing the animation, it could have been cool to make the snake take different paths, go up at different places, go down into the hole, doing S moves, etc.

Would have been cool, but would require alot more work... getting it to do what it does was hard enough...

i only  remember seeing these

God Rugal(Osaka) - Neat Unsou

London(not sure if cvs2) - dirty worker

Osaka tower - you

Alaska(not sure if cvs2) - you

Training Stage - you

Hmmm... seems there's still quite a few to be made - windmill stage, desert base, wrestling ring, american stage and a china stage (obviously not the correct names for those stages)
Thanks guys  ;D

Just wondering what's been made (decent quality preferably high res) and what's left to be made, don't want to make a stage when it already exists somewhere else  ;)   I recently saw a shanghai stage but it looks like it's just too big in mb to be playable...

These characters are pretty small. Have these been scaled cause I thought scaling was bad.

The characters will work just fine being scaled, the only thing bad about it is sometimes their super moves might be cut off in certain places and not look right. But only sometimes that will happen, and it's really noticable when the characters are really small. I shrank them a bit to fit with the stage better, i don't normally like to scale characters but in this situation i thought it looked better.
