And again the potential champions (Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France, Netherlands) are having a tough time to beat teams that in theory were the weak ones...
I'd prefer the term, underdogs or black horses.
Algeria and Costa Rica are for me the teams that have caused upsets in this world cup [who was expecting Algeria would lose by a narrow difference against Germany? All were expecting Germany would curbstomp them and look how much Germany struggled to win 2-1]. And Costa Rica already made history, as the first Center American team to reach quarterfinals, AT LEAST. I really hope Costa Rica does what Mexico didn't for fizzling out. Defeat Netherlands.

Why POTS is famous?
Answer: The same thing like Beximus did with his MvC chars, but in a CvS-Ished gameplay:
EXTREME GOOD GAMEPLAY XD
PS: I'm a fan of Beximus Vs Style and POTS gameplay works 
I disagree about Beximus. If there's a good MVC style creator that belongs to either, Splode or Kamekaze in recent years.
On topic: POTS was pretty much innovative with his style, and was seen as a novelty that caught many people's attention, myself included at least, with his Karin in my case [Not that his other characters were bad, but Karin is my favorite SF character of all time, and a reason why I bother to play SFA3]. Karin felt like in SFA3, just with the addition of roll, parry and she wasn't that strict with her inputs, like she is in source.

I certainly remember there was a Zangief that could throw missiles, I don't remember exactly the author's name anymore, but I think Don Drago edited it some time ago. And of course... There's Zangeese. <.<

I played Pokemon but fell off it after generation two, so now when Jango is telling me about EV spreads or whatever my eyes glaze over and I feel incredible fear.
Lost interest for Pokemon after Johto. And more after I saw most of the 4th generation Pokemons. e_e

Nah I'm good. PotS style is exactly what I like. It's pretty much perfection to me; the whole reason I got into the character creation game is that I wanted Joe (and others) in that style!

Why should only the PotS/Infinite style guys be asked to do other things? Why are they the only ones who need to explore other gameplay styles? Why does everyone else get to stick with the style they actually like to code?

Umezono thought the other poster's claims that infinite bandwagoners are raiding us with copy pasted code outrageous and asked for an example of someone actually doing this.
And then you started puking this nonsense about us not understanding the post and that it couldn't be any clearer when it's a easy as saying "x's infinite style characters use copy pasted code, see here".
I can relate to what jtp said but saying that all this pseudo-POTS whatever style and its derivates characters are all copy pastes isn´t quite true. It definitely gets boring and to some degree annoying just seeing WIPS and releases with this style (most of the time). Each creator taking the core of the style (FX and stuff) are similar in essence but different in many aspects and execution.
Chopped Liver, this is the reason why I see this a bad habit [And admittedly, I think I should have specified it was when people were taking a page from POTS, instead of Infinite, since there has been many people having its take on the style. Granted, its open source, but still...]. Aldo here has stated the reason why I'm kind of tired to see this. Come on, people, it's not like its the only style existent on this world, right? >.> If you like the style fine, but, I'm more of variety than sticking to one style, to see if you can submerge into other waters.

Although this is more of a matter of personal choice. But its pretty disappointing for one to find some characters released and all have a style that has been overused so many times. Its a bad habit in that you're starting with something that its so popular and easy to access, than rather try something new or more complex.
And its become pretty much what jtp768 expressed. That's why I said there's no need for examples. And, just like JNP stated, its because, that, while I'm strongly against the style, I didn't see the need to exemplify something that it was mentioned obviously by jtp768.
